Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece of pure art. We need to be reminded that there is something eternal in this life, something which is stronger than death.
Yes. This music is proof of goodness. Evidence right before all our senses that we live in an order based of course on the infinite flow of natural occurencences. But also on a freedom rooted in law. ....but also the promise of overarching Grace for the times we "don't get it" or when we willfully cast aside the laws we know to be true, or when we refuse...or just plain can't accept the sheer Grace of it all. ("GRACE" In every sense of that word not just the theological.) Then along comes Bach. Grabs my attention. And makes me believe again.
❤ “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.” - Romans 3:23-24
@alpinoalpini3849 The text of Bach's cantata is literally inspired and based on, drawn from St. Paul's Epistle to the Romans, you can't get around it. There's nothing problematic about quoting a passage from the Bible in a religious context such as this especially that it is strongly related to the message of the cantata. This comment you responded to is not propagating Christianity any more than your comment is propagating atheism or agnosticism. If you feel uncomfortable with the truth claims that Christianity makes, that's fine but there's no reason to call people out for their convictions.
With respect, God exists for Bach and inspires him perpetually to this heavenly music, some of which Bach has created in our world and has chosen to share with us ...
Cannot see the point of this experiment. The human voice is not suited for faster speeds. It is a living instrument! J one of the living Olof are able to be show here. After all slow tempo is an aspect of expression in music, totally missing this performance here.
Incredibly beautiful performance, as usual. Thanks for sharing. Hartelijk dank!
Good, that you perform him. During my time, he wasn't that popular and I really feel sad about this.
Beautifully moderate and calm, true to the lyrics.
Thank you very much NBS for this gift.
Happy Friday everyone! This made my week; thanks for sharing your wonderful music NBS once again.

Jullie hebben altijd geweldige solisten. Dicht bij hun natuurlijke stem, niet te veel vibrato. Proficiat. Geweldige contratenor
Excelso! ❤❤❤❤❤

We probably wouldn't have Bach the way 'Bach' is without the church. Bro literally lived in the church.

@@alpinoalpini3849Sounds like you’d fit right in with them.
Dieu n'existe pas, mais Bach l'a inventé.
Great comment, thanks
„Existenz“ ist eine falsche Kategorie hinsichtlich Gott…
