    Billy loveing your videos ...just one question again ...have you got a video of could you make a video explaining me what size hook you need to put on witch lure ..i got 100 gram slow lures but i bought hooks and they are massive comparing to the lure ...what size hook is to big or do you say that a oversize hook doesn't matter ... Keep up the good vids mate !!!!

    • @Billyfishing_watch
      @Billyfishing_watch  Месяц назад +1

      Hi Dutch. It is actually quite simple! If you are using a 100g jig, depending on its design you will need big hooks. Firstly because the fish you're targeting are most likely big, secondly the hooks cannot hang up on the body of the jig either. This will prevent the fish from finding the hook. So if you place the hook on top of the jig, with the back of the hook at the edge of the jig. There should be 2 or 3 mm of the hook point clear of the side of the jig. This should be measured when The jig is attached to the leader and the assists are connected. Just to make sure the hooks will not hang up on the body of the jig. My advice is only for shore fishing, also the hooks should be slow jig hooks and not fast jig hooks. This will help a little bit with getting snapped, and the influence the jig less! than fast Jig hooks. By influence, I mean affect the action of the jig. As a starting point for a100 g jig, I will use 6/0 , and if they're not big enough well you know what to do. 👌

    Hey Billy and hello from Bergen 👋.I have started fishing again after almost 4 years of absence because of reasons.I'am quite new to sea spinning fishing.I've recently found your channel and I've been binge watching your content, finding it very helpful, straight forward and hilarious at moments 😊.
    I have one question about the leader.What is their purpose and how do you match them according to your main line?For example i am using 30lb 8 strand fireline, what thickness and type the leader should be? Thanks for the great content.🤌

    • @Billyfishing_watch
      @Billyfishing_watch  Месяц назад

      Hi bud. The leaders are pretty simpl. Between a metre and a half and two meters depending on how tall you are, is the length. And for example if you fish 20 lb 8 strand mainline, you should use a 30 or 40 lb leader! If you use 30 you can use 50 to 60, depending on the diameter of the leader. You can also go lower. So in a general sense, it is 10 - 20 lb higher than your main line. If the leader is too thick, it will snag in your guides. Hope this helps out. Thanks Brother 😁👌

    • @mariomaksimov8994
      @mariomaksimov8994 Месяц назад

      @@Billyfishing_watch Thanks man.But what is the purpose of using it?Is it just to make the line less visible?It can't be just that since is pretty much dark under 15m 😄.Also what material do you suggest for the leader?
      Thanks 🙏

    • @Billyfishing_watch
      @Billyfishing_watch  Месяц назад

      @mariomaksimov8994 the leader is both to trick the fish, and to protect the line from being caught by rocks and other obstacles. It is not a good idea to fish without it! It will cause you a lot more problems! Just normal monofilament line will work just fine!
