    That knot you've invented is quite classy! Although I'm more of a FG man I'll definitely give your knot a shot one of these days. As for those Mad Mouse rods, a friend of mine in KSA uses them popping for geets and they even hold up to that challenge so that makes you a man that fully understands the value of things 😉 I really enjoyed your Norway series. I have the same destination on my list and the work you put in has helped a lot 🙏

    Very nice Billy! I like your knot! Very much like a Bristol knot if you’re familiar with it ( and currently my favorite). Similar in concept to the FG knot but a bit easier to put together.
    Have you found a knot yet that you can do in the dark without a light and get close to the same kind of reliability??? That’s always been my problem. Sure you (and I) bring along a head lamp (torch) but when the batteries die, you’re hosed!!! Only thing I’ve found to work in this scenario is to use two surgeons knot loops with the knots doubled on each loop to maintain the integrity of the connection, then I fold over the main line loop upon itself before running the leader loop through it so the leader loop can’t cut through main line loop on the strike or during the fight. You can actually improve on this knot if you know how to do a Cat’s Paw knot in the dark (which I can’t do). Anyway, thanks for the great video!

    • @Billyfishing_watch
      @Billyfishing_watch  2 года назад

      Hi Tim, I can't fish in the dark so I always bring a spare light with me. But if I had to fish in the dark I would tie the figure of eight. one on top of the main line and one over the leader, that's the knot I would tie. it's the only one I can tie with my eyes closed because you can feel it open, you can tell if it's right. so the figure of eight would be the knot I would try. Fish on 👍😁

    I hear that knot everytime you cast, or I hear something like a knot hitting the guides. I wonder if that knot could possible wear out any of the guides or if the knot could become weaker hitting that first guide? I know on my sturgeon rod(s)which is a baitcasting rod, I purposely dont want any knots running through the guides, but that's just my theory and their are millions. I will have to learn that knot, thanks for teaching it.

    • @Billyfishing_watch
      @Billyfishing_watch  7 месяцев назад

      Hi bud. It's a distance thing! The jigs are anywhere up to 200 grams, and the 35 pound meyland was snap if I cast without the casting leader. Can't tie straight onto mono with the thin line, the knot is too big and will break the guides. And also create wind knots. The knot on the reel is very small, and just to be sure it doesn't fail! I covered in Super glue each time I fish. And changes after every couple of times fishing. It works well for me. If you're using a conventional reel you should have less problems. And if distance isn't an issue, just run 100lb straight through. With a short rubbing leader. Thanks Brother 😁👌

    • @Billyfishing_watch
      @Billyfishing_watch  Месяц назад

      Hi, and thank you Brother. It all depends on what type of real you use, some have a rubber insert on the spool to stop the braid from slipping. Peen and daiwa, reels sometimes have it. But if not, you can just wrap the braid around the spool several times, and tie a uni knot on top. If you want to save some money, then put 4 strand braid on the bottom. And 8 strand braid as a top shot. 😁👌

    Hello Billy, thank you for this video!
    Can you tell me how well the Lurekiller Twinpower are sealed at the critical points (handle entry, line roller, spool entry, shaft entry etc.)? Do they need a lot of maintenance?
    Other than the price, what are main differences with a brand like Penn or Daiwa? This reel looks like a Penn Slammer III.

    • @Billyfishing_watch
      @Billyfishing_watch  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hi bud. You cannot compare these rails to a saltiga or slammer, simply because of the price difference. They are not sealed! They don't have too many bearings either, which is a good thing because they're not sealed. Bearings everywhere except the roller. Excellent drag, mind blowing retrieve, and they're not very heavy either. I can fish for 6 - 7 hours with one. They are cheap, so something happens to them like falling the water. You can't just replace them, but they are tough. Thanks Brother 👌
