In a short, 22 started a rebel group with the acronym "Apocalypse." 22 tried to stop the flow of souls to Earth. It didn't work because she kept inspiring the other souls. Joe is more dangerous. The problem with Joe is that he could have been trying to get on television back on Earth instead of playing piano. On television, Joe could have told everyone his story and to jump off the conveyer belt into the darkness, where to land, how to avoid Jerrys, and to confiscate earth passes. It wouldn't have made sense at the time. However, if some of those people remembered until after they died, their resistance could have caused a much bigger problem than 22 running around. So, Terry headed off a possible bigger problem. That being said. Terry usually only talks to Joe even when 22 is present. I don't recall Terry addressing 22 until he yells at the corrupted 22 for interrupting his award ceremony and makes the situation worse. Contrast that with how the Jerrys try to coax the lost soul version of 22 back from the Earth portal. Terry seems temperamentally unsuited for handling unborn souls, which is majority of the work that is usually done around there. He probably doesn't lend a hand with anyone else's work regularly. When Terry does something, he demands an award for it.

this movie was really quite special. I wish the ending followed through though, it obviously was going to end a certain way but they played it extra safe for some reason. It was almost incredible.
I heard they were gonna do something special with Mr. Mittens in a post-credit scene but it got scrapped. It would have explained the Great Beyond a little more and would've shown that Mr.Mitten wasn't meant to be there yet. That's why he comes back in the end.
Underrated movie. I’m someone obsessed with philosophy. What makes a soul. Where those souls go when their mortal body dies. The value of that soul. Even before its first breath. It’s great how they depict souls before they enter a physical body. They have personalities and a will but their purpose and destiny is ultimately up to them. Their fate may be to return to this realm and enter the “Great Beyond” but before then life is what they make of it. Their personalities will also be changed based on their genetics and growth. Not set in stone, just a nudge to get that soul moving.
i dont know if this was intentional, but the way jerry's voice harmonizes with the background music ( 0:15 ) really sells jerry as a 'being' and not a person

I'm about to look at the movie Soul for the first time. When the movie came out, my beloved husband Gerald or better known as "Jerry" to his Easter Texas family passed away suddenly. So, I put off looking at the movie because it took a while for my heart to catch up and accept what my head already knew. Now, I'm strong enough to watch it and can't wait to see it. ❤
Because the moral and meaning of the story connects with the audience's feelings and emotions. It has a deeper meaning and beautiful animation, that makes people emotional. It's not the same for everyone, but I hope this answers you question. 💙
This movie was so underrated. Beautiful animation, score, message. Not without it's flaws, but not deserving of being shoved to the sidelines of Disney+

I've always liked Terry. Used to work in inventory and I'd get just as annoyed seeing the count being off on certain items and sometimes having to leave the office to go find them myself.
Soul is the best example of how Pixar can still make amazing movies, sure lightyear and turning red aren't their best work but it's still apart of a lineup of amazing movies that everyone should at least watch.

This movie was so underrated. Beautiful animation, score, message. Not without it's flaws, but not deserving of being shoved to the sidelines of Disney+

I've always liked Terry. Used to work in inventory and I'd get just as annoyed seeing the count being off on certain items and sometimes having to leave the office to go find them myself.

Soul is the best example of how Pixar can still make amazing movies, sure lightyear and turning red aren't their best work but it's still apart of a lineup of amazing movies that everyone should at least watch.
