190 ZONGSHEN Retaining Washer Fix!?! WPB 190 BEAST

- This is the 3rd time now ive had this problem. Previous times the repair worked for a few hours then starts jumping out of gear, mainly 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
Now with thanks to a few people giving me this information i have sourced a retaining washer to hold the selector arm in position and hopefully stop it jumping of the frog thing.
Hopefully this is a permanent fix and not just for a few hours.

Don't think it's WPB fault to be fair , I personally think all the zongshen 190 engines need this fix , I've seen this issue on multiple bike on RUclips running this engine,
They should all get recalled
Yes iagree with that but wpb could have sorted this and its upto them to ensure their products function properly. Zongshen could also sort this easy enough. Why they haven't is a mystery 🤔
I told you about this a long time ago at least you got to it and didn't just give up the shift star mod is a must you can also reshape the star with a file and some sanding so it shifts a little easier. you also can put stronger clutch springs from a Gixxer to wheely easy.👍👌✌️💯💪
Can you actually put gxr spring in it, what gxr is it?
@@lithec3434 Any spring that is the correct diameter and length will work provided it has a higher pressure.
Mate I was literally going to comment on one of your vids asking what you're doing about the 190. Right on time hopefully we can fix this thing 👍
I'm quietly confident I've done 2 hours on it using 1st and 2nd hard and not once has it jumped, I missed a gear myself but not jumping out . Technically it can't jump as no room under washer. More testing, like I said I'm optimistic ive ordered some nice tyres and been looking at other bits. Hopefully get they all going properly once and for all.
Search on eBay for pit bike z190 5 speed shifter mod 190cc. Icant add link for some reason. This can be made with normal washers for cheap but this is all ready to go, long bolt the lot.
@@motomachinezuk8786 nice one I'll search for it now, thank you👍. I just ordered kx 85 shifter levers to replace the original ones too. The old ones were weak and bent out of place.
@@TEKKYTWO the stock levers on these pit bikes are weak, first thing I done to 190 apart from magnetic sump plug and hour meter . They shouldn't break, maybe bend if you crash hard.

my zs190 is brand new zero miles. Im able to shift into all gears when the engine is not running but when it is running i can only shift into 1st. have to turn engine off the shift anywhere else. I know it isnt the shifter hitting the case and i have adjusted the clutch cable and clutch arm so therea few mm to zero slack before it engages. do you have any other ideas?

@@motomachinezuk8786 any chance you could send me the details of the parts needed. Bike had this issue during run in stage and have not ridden since as couldn’t diagnose the issue myself. Great work to whoever found this issue but please could you advise me on the parts needed. Shocking that these are released from factory like this!!!
this is a common problem mate, many people make homemade washer retainers of different thickness washers. have you ever pull the rubber insert in front of the front sprocket under the otherside under the cover? there is a shift star tension bolt under the rubber insert to help align the shifter, look up pitbike shift star tension bolt on youtube and it might help solve your problems...love he videos

I've seen most of ur 190cc beast vids and actually wanted one until the problems started and now u have solved it 🤞🏻lol. I'm not sure i don't wanna recommend as I've had problems with it. Dont want anyone blaming me if it goes wrong if you know what I mean. Hopefully fixed but only time will tell mate
Why didn't you soak the clutch pack before install it's always a good idea to soak them. Thought this bike or engine was being sold?✌️👌👍😉
To be honest I was just trying to repair quickly and test. Its seems fine at moment. That vid caught me in a bad frame of mind lol not thinking straight about it. Thats why left for some time before I tackled it.

Great vid mate and really hope it’s fixed now also think a carb upgrade would be good they have stuck a cheap jinke carb on it seem to bog a bit I’ve adjusted the mixture screw but no change do you find this as well especially when in first at high revs
It does bog in high revs a carb is a good idea for starters once I get some decent tyres on it. I might have to mention in a vid and see what people recommend as I'm unsure exactly also just ordered a uni air filter. Hope so too im quietly confident but time will tell.
What upgrades you seen? I see on ebay they got a 212cc big bore kit for them to bolt straight on!👀🤭
Correctly weighted fly wheel, 212 head and piston kit. Also quite few other stuff for 190 on ooracing. Carb and racing ignition. Just looking at moment and researching options
Any ideas on what to look at next I check that retainer washer and they was one on it so Iv split the engine and the gears are totally fine I’m just about lost mate 🤦🏻♂️😂
If the washer is on and you can see gears working and nothing is loose as some do loosen up. Then maybe clutch cable is not right. Difficult to say but I know on these if not correct tension it is hard to change gear especially if not moving and engine running
@@motomachinezuk8786 so it did leave me scratching my head but this morning I finally found the problem it’s my selector drum the forks on it have worn down from the gears 👍🏼
They did fix it buy a new z's 190 it's on there been a year a least now must not watch 190 video much.
I've had many people message me in last few weeks saying they purchased only weeks ago and same problem ? And only 3 people saying there's is ok, 1 mentioned tin retainer was useless in 1 so I'm getting mixed feedback, 90 percent with problems with new purchases from wpb. Maybe they got old stock to clear 🤔.
Looking to buy a wpb am I choosing the right one should I go stomp or keep with wpb
I hear this engine is sorted but god knows if true. Wpb is ok for budget just probably I would not recommend 190 engine
Hi mate Iv just got a 190 and I’m having a problem with my transmission too. When. I click in to 2nd it’s not moving now it doesn’t sound like a crunching noise but it doesn’t sound normal either 😂 any ideas on where to start and what to look at before I got mental stripping the full thing down 👍🏼
Same problem mate that I had you need to fit or check it has a retaining washer. They fixed the issue on newer models I thought

Thinking of buying the zongshen 190 engine to replace my detroit 170 for a bit more torque. From your experience with both bikes isit worth paying 800 for the 190 engine with all problems fixed by ooracing. TIA

Yes z190 engine has issues but can be fixed but should not be owners job. Factory stuff. Nice bike and hopefully get some use out of it now

Washer of ebay, search for 190 zongshen gear fix washer.
And selector arm came from ooracing but did not really need that to be fair was precaution

Thats good to hear what did torque did you do the washer up, I just did tight as no specs. My concern is that may come loose if not torqued right ? Thanks for info you and a couple of others mentioned this fix to me, much appreciated 👍

How are you getting on 6 month down the line is gearbox still fine and not jumping?
I believe that's one of my discs you used on your bike
I got it from ebay so unsure if yours bud
But I'm more happy and not had a problem since but I want to use a few more hours before I'm confident. Just not had time recently and weather not been best
@@motomachinezuk8786 if the disc has a recess for the bolt then it's one of mine I sell was just curious on the feed back that's all sold loads and only had a few say its sorted it I've used them on engines myself but only has a few hours testing with it that's all

I known a quite a few this ha ,resolved but 1 or 2 it's not fixed and I guess they got knackered gears now so went to far with it jumping.

@@motomachinezuk8786 yeah from.what I've found if ride it for more then let's say 10 mins when its jumping usally already damaged the shifter drum fork but it's really pot luck if catch it erlie enough as such

Few more test before full verdict . Hope he's enjoying the 125 good little engine and bike. Good for adult wheelie practice also 👍
Is it worth buying the WPB 190?
I've had more problems with this than all bikes put together. I can't recommend something I don't trust. Some people are fine with theirs

@@BTMoto like any Chinese 250, clone Honda carbed 250. Apparently good but if need parts maybe longer wait for them. Never see much on them ive looked at that smaller 1

Yeah mate, i’ve brought it brand new and i took it out for the first time today, the engine wouldn’t stop steaming, maybe it just needs a good run in?
Steaming will be just from the water going on engine. I assume its been raining lots near you. Mine does it in this weather
Hi mate, we run the engine in the garden without it going anywhere and it still creates steam so we are not happy with the bike at the minute, can you confirm where the oil level should be on the viewing glass (after an oil change)

With the bike level I make sure its not to the top and slightly more than 2/3 of the way up
