Biden gives legal status to some undocumented immigrants

- President Joe Biden on Tuesday announced plans to offer relief to hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants in the U.S. heading into the 2024 election, a move that experts say aims to balance his own aggressive crackdown on the border earlier this month.
The Biden administration will allow certain spouses of U.S. citizens without legal status to apply for permanent residency and, eventually, citizenship in the coming months, the White House said.
Senior administration officials said the move could impact upwards of half a million immigrants.
Biden is set to speak about the plans at a Tuesday afternoon event at the White House, which will also mark the 12th anniversary of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or "DACA." The popular Obama-era directive offered deportation protections and temporary work permits for young immigrants who lack legal status.

@@spiritrealmking9416It has seemed to benefit Trump as of late as I makes the justice system seem somewhat unfair and rigged against one individual as election interference whether he is guilty of anything or not ot all seems very coordinated and bias, and many people see the writing on the wall and sympathize with Trump for it in large part. Maybe the legal stuff hurts Trump in some sense, but for now it seems to be helping him.
This choice by Biden may help him for a next tern as thus looks like a compassionate measure that a lot of people can support and may increase his voter pool a little. This step is for married individuals that have been here for a while not really for anyone that just came over illegally recently.

For 23+ years, there has not been any changes to the inmigration system. Therefore, the crisis this country is facing with people just pouring in. If our congress would just do their job on fixing it, flip the page and start working on issues to help their own citizens.(worry about the people, not their political party)

They’re already here, married to US citizens and have been for at least a decade. They work and pay taxes just like their spouse. The undocumented spouse doesn’t have to go back to their foreign country. They can stay here and file the paperwork to become documented here. So it won’t apply to those who are coming in to the United States today illegally or legally ??????
First of all, why would it apply to someone who is coming in legally into the country? And second you need to pay attention to what he said: "It will not apply to people just coming in; it will only apply to spouses who have been married to a U.S citizen for 10+yrs".
The point of this is to not separate families who would otherwise have to be separated from their spouse having to return to their home country to continue their immigration process. Therefore, being allowed to stay in the country, receive temporary legal status a.k.a work permit, driving license, SSN etc, while their legal status is being approved (or denied, whichever applies). Which actually means more money for the U.S in the end and more security to all.

Getting deported and having made to leave in order to continue your immigration process outside of the U.S when married to a U.S citizen are two different things. Which requires different steps being taken. Also depending on the reason you got deported in the first place, one of the first steps would be requiring you to submit an application to see if you even qualify for a pardon by the U.S. This is a case by case thing.
This new law or whatever I'm sure it would only apply to those married to a U.S citizen and are still living within the U.S and haven't had any serious runnings with the law. It possibly also allow those who are now continuing their process in their home country to come back to the U.S and reunite with their families with their temporary residency status and work permit etc. Once this thing comes to fruition I'm sure more information regarding your question will be available through immigration lawyers and whatnot, who are more educated on the subject.

A son of a man that got Amnesty during Reagan had never lived here when he got amnesty and a SS#. His son had come here 25 years later. Month's earlier he got a Mexican local teenager girl pregnant. He came with his girl friend. He planned on putting her on welfare. They both were living here. His undocumented pregnant girlfriend would get welfare for unborn child. She got section 8, EBT, and Medi-Cal.
His Dad and Mom were set when they came with healthcare problems. A house and food were available at the their son's house. Son worked as a painting contractor, and the state knew about his additional income, or he was the daddy.
This couple is an example of the amnesty recipients. Father sold his SS# and never paid into it but got SS payments. His son got citizenship and SS#. He came with illegal girl friend. She became an unwed mother and got welfare as an illegal pregnant woman (no husband), she got welfare, Sect 8, EBT, and Chips for years. And now she gets legalized by the jerk in Whitehouse. Why do they need amnesty? It's illegal to accept welfare assistance and get legalized. So, they need amnesty as a reward for all these other fraudulent crimes the son and his girlfriend(spouse) committed for 24 years.
