As strange as it sounds Assasssin Sentient Cloak sounds like cool twist for d&d murder mystery.

9:55 weirdly, Cloakers are one of only 4 monsters with just Light Sensitivity. (the others being Shadow Demon from MM, and Darkling and Meenlock from Monsters of the Multiverse). 86 other monsters (and the PCs like Drow and Kobolds, except for I think their most recent versions) all do actually have Sunlight Sensitivity
18:10 since if you succeed the save you're immune for 24 hours, honestly giving it all 3 (bite, tail, moan) would be fine. Maybe specify that the moan comes last? But that doesn't even really matter. Maybe moan first, and add a line to the Bite that if it attaches to the head of a Frightened creature, that creature begins suffocating (being unable to breathe doesn't necessarily mean the suffocation rules, I think it would just mean the Hold Breath rules, which can be several minutes)
20:16 Mirror Image does start with 3 illusions (as you guys later say). The Cloaker's is worse because of the Bright Light thing, but also they can be destroyed by Saving Throws (Mirror Images can't)
21:20 Yeah though, Mirror Image tells you how to determine the targets, and its almost a perfect reprint. This is another case of designers in different departments not talking to each other in original 5e development I feel like.
28:30 Abduction strategies are awesome for both monsters and PCs. Friend and I made a Scout Rogue Aarakocra that just grabs people and flies up with them.
Important Final Note: THIS IS A CR 2 MONSTER. Wotzy is REALLY banking on the Damage Transfer ability. But EVEN WITH THAT IT'S ONLY CR 6
--With an AC of 14 and HP average of 78, this puts its Defensive CR at CR 1
--With an Average of 17 damage (!!!) and a +6 to hit, its Offensive CR is 3 (because of the To Hit)
--Averaged together you get CR 3
Now, for the Damage Transfer trait, the CR notes say to, "Double the monster's effective hit points. Add one-third of the monster's hit points to its per-round damage."
--With an AC of 14 and "effective HP" of 156, this makes its Defensive CR 6
--With its average damage per round adding 1/3 its HP (26) bringing it up to a WHOPPING 43, and its to hit of +6, this gives it an Offensive CR of 6
    -- So it's STILL just a CR 6!
They are putting so much emphasis on Damage Transfer, and completely ignoring Light Sensitivity (which again, it's weird it has that and not Sunlight Sensitivity).
This monster is made to Surprise the party (somehow, being the most conspicuous monster in the world. Cloaks are almost never made of leather, they were typically made of wool or linen. Also, this thing is Large.). Anyway, it NEEDS that Surprise to secure a hit on someone and attach before the party can react. If it doesn't attach right away, I'm pretty sure a level 5 party can pretty easily kill this thing in one round. 2 at most.
I would say to treat this as at highest a CR 5 monster. Don't let them lie to you and say it's CR 8

Thats the 2nd time you make me think of trying your monsters (first one being the Froghemoth which turned out to be a great fight against my player!).
Have you considered reviewing monsters from Pathfinder 2E for us? I only know stuff about PF2 from youtube and the web, but would love to watch you discuss them and get more battle ideas from there, since everyone are saying the monsters are more interesting.
Just throwing and idea - maybe you could do a segment of "how could you run it in D&D format..? :D
    gj guys!

Awesome! I think I'm gonna steal this creature, and use it for a Pirate adventure I'll be running soon. The Cloakers will be disguised as the Skull and Cross Bones flag, and the black cloaks of the pirates of Davy Jone's skip. Where ever the ship goes a storm cloud follows that sheds enough darkness that the sunlight sensitivity is negated and so they can use their Phantasms ability. They will still have a weakness to magical or bright light as a way for the party to counter play the ability, and gain advantage. I think I'll use one beefy Cloaker, and two smaller minecraft phantom-like minions.

I love that! Such a good use!
And yeah smaller minion ones are a good idea. Really can't imagine fighting multiples of these hahah

@@MonstersMulticlass I think I'll make it a pseudo rule that only one cloaker had face hug at a time. And the others will stay on the backs of the the pirates making ranged Moan and Tail attacks until a certain stage in the fight that they need to go all out.

This makes zero sense as a Large creature. Sure, it disguises itself as a leather cloak... but it's a leather cloak *the size of an ogre!* How is that sensible camouflage?

You don't wear a cloak the size of a king sized comforter?
