well *SPOILERS* From what I remember (its been awhile since I saw it) whilst the premise of the story is quite tragic and sad and all the characters showing their deepest faults, the ending does seem to be heartfelt and happy. Especially in the case of the manga everyone seems better!
for families who are mostly girls, i recomend Little Women (2019). It’s moving, comforting, and gives you a positive outlook for the future, especially if you’re a girl. 100% recomend

Most of these are movies with many sad, disturbing moments tho, it’s a good list of movies to watch since most of them are great, especially The Handmaiden, but I don’t think I could call them feel good. When I think about feel good movies I think about Paddington 1 & 2, Little Forest (both the Japanese and Korean versions), This Beautiful Fantastic, Little Women, Kiki’s Delivery Service, My Neighbor Totoro.
I think it depends on the person because I would consider alot of movies that have sad scenes like Me earl and the dying girl, etc as feel good. Yes the have intense scenes but those are scenes I still love. The music, the cinematography, the set design, colors, all of that makes me feel really good and I love movies that are real and truthful to life. To others they might get immensefully sad but I always feel uplifted.
CheerUp2 I agree with you, it is different from person to person, but I think there’s a general consensus of what a feel good movie is, because if we make it personal then Blade Runner 2049 is a movie that makes me feel good but I would never recommend it as a feel good movie. Same for Me, Earl and the Dying Girl, it’s a great movie but if a friend is feeling down and wants a feel good movie I don’t think that would be the best recommendation.

I wanna recommend the French movie “Lou - journal infime”. It’s very visually interesting and pretty. It follows a young girl and her single mother as they navigate their passions and relationships. Their apartment is insanely chaotic and messy but very cool. It’s a very feel good, simple movie. Highly recommend.

A Good Year is one of my favourite uplifting movies. Set in a Provence vineyard, there is a lot of the good French life, warmth, food and wine. It feels like taking a holiday while sitting on your sofa.
One of my favorite feel-good movies would be Empire Records from 1995. It's not necessarily a cinematic masterpiece, but it is definitely a film that makes me very happy by the end of it. I just want to get up and dance usually! Without giving too much away, the film follows a day in the life of five high school teenagers who work at a local record shop, which is potentially going to be closed and bought out for some corporate music store. It tackles many different, sometimes intense, topics that go along with growing up and being a teenager. I would highly recommend it, to watch alone or with friends/siblings close in age!
I saw a John Wayne film The Big Trail (1930) during the quarantine because I saw the DVD at Walmart in the $5.00 bin. I was impressed by this film in the amount of extras, the amount of cattle and wagons in this film. They do some impressive things in this film that really gets you to appreciate the struggles these people went through with their wagons and cattle to get west before the Rail Road and shortly after the Louisiana Purchase was made.

I mean, words can not describe how much I love Jojo Rabbit. I just admire Taika Waititi's genius. And I watched Emma several weeks ago and absolutely loved it. I completely agree that the color palette, costume, production design of this film are just fantastic. I also really love the rhythm of the actors' performances in the film. I love that the director's early career background of directing music videos made an impact in this film. I love the recommendations and this video! I will definitely add these to my list! I recommend watching "Be With You." it is a 2018 Korean movie about a mom/wife who dies, but mysteriously returns. It's so cute, touching, and heartwarming even though there are sad moments, and you feel the many spectrums of love, not just romantic love. I love the magical aspects of the movie too. Also, the aesthetic is so idyllic and beautiful. One of my favorite movies! I also recommend "Chef" since your family are chefs :)
I don't know if you're into manga but I would highly recommend reading the A silent voice manga. The movie is absolutely beautiful but because the manga is longer (just 6 volumes tho) it goes much deeper in some parts and overall is so much more emotional and intense. I remember crying so much I couldn't read the scans and not because of sadness but because some topics and twists and situations were just so emotional and felt so real. A true A+ Thank you for this list! I will definitely watch the movies I missed from this :) Love you 💖

I watched Emma with my aunt and some other close family members It was wonderful, the colors, the humor, the costume, the place, and everything about it was amazing I recommended for everyone who loved period drama and I also Iwatched a silent voice and violet evergarden their so sweet but also heartbreaking, a silent voice is amazing the animation, the emotions it was so sweet and a feel-good movie but just like you said it's a bit sad in a good way though. Hope you don't mind but I recommend 'The Tribe', if you're into old shows, it's from 1999, but it is so good and nobody knows about it, I'm trying to get the show the attention it deserves!

It was wonderful, the colors, the humor, the costume, the place, and everything about it was amazing I recommended for everyone who loved period drama and I also Iwatched a silent voice and violet evergarden their so sweet but also heartbreaking, a silent voice is amazing the animation, the emotions it was so sweet and a feel-good movie but just like you said it's a bit sad in a good way though.
I'm watching the Ghibli movies that just came out on Netflix, I recommend Ghibli films for everyone

But a new one that I watched yesterday and liked was Troop Zero it's on Amazon prime, I think it's a nice movie to watch with the family and I loved the soundtrack
