Thank you so much! Basically guitars and bass are coming from the KPA and as a drum machine I use EZ Drummer 2. A little bit compression and limiting on the master and there you go. No Bob Rock bag of tricks. 😅
Just left and right channel used for guitars? The stereo image also sounds too good... You have to record a video of how you set up things in cubase :)
That guitar sounds great. Is that still the ToneZone pickup in the bridge? I may have to get one for the next guitar I build. Secondly, though-how do you deal with noise gates with all that gain? Are you just hard on the Kemper’s noise gate(s)? Which one, the stomp or the Input control? Amazing playing. It takes a musician like you to make these preset packs actually sound like the artists they are meant to replicate. They aren’t so convincing with my hands.
Thank you very much! Glad you like it! 🤘❤ It's the Tone Zone / Air Norton combination. Love it. I don't go too hard on the noise gate. I only use a 2:1 Gate in the stomp section at -4,2. When recording chugga chugga rhythm guitars, occasionally I go harder with a 4:1 Gate also at around -4 to -5 in the stomp section. Actually it's not that much gain. 😂✌
Sounds are pretty thick on this video. Some are thin. It seems like alot of profiles l pickup are thin and a bit underwhelming compared to a demo video. In post production do you thicken the profiles? Can you offer an opinion.
Hey Mark! I do not use much EQ on the guitars apart from a high pass at around 60-90 hz and a high cut at around 8-12 khz depending on the profile. There's some compression and limiting on the master bus but that's it basically. It depends on the context. A guitar in the mix can sound pretty thick whereas listening in solo it might sound pretty lame. Have you tried my JVM profiles? I left them pretty untouched eq wise. Maybe that's what your looking for. ✌
