Thank you SOOOO much! I was SO frustrated, expecting my Cubase & Steinberg Yamaha urc to STREAM all the effects I put on my guitar & vocals. For three days, I tried to switch up the jacks, and direct ins, etc etc to no avail. I came across this video. Per your instruction, I found my already installed DSPmixFX, then downloaded the OBS software. FINALLY I was able to livestream. I realized Cubase was designed to RECORD, and doesn't have the API's to STREAM. Most of my livestream failure was in my head, expecting the software to do something it doesn't. So when I let go of my obstinate inner donkey, I found this video easy to follow and life changing.
Thanks for putting out this video. It is really helpful. I recently updated my UR242 driver and installed dspMixFx app on my Mac. Loopback is really helpful. When I went live I got really good feedback on the sound quality I was delivering. I bought my UR242 3 years back and glad to know it’s relevant to this day. Not just it provides great audio quality, now you can use it for going live which is really helpful for beginners to connect with their audience.
Great video for audiance, that just don't want to mess with stuff don't understand, but at the same time want to have high quality production on what they do. Please keep the good videos, showing example of application if you your devices. Thank you!

how does it work with DAW on a computer he never shows the DAW preferences in any videos... i need to understand before I buy this product. normally I set my interface as ASIO SSL2 input in my DAW.. then my output is the monitors of my SSL2... but how does OBS pick this up smoothly while having that setup for recording live.. These videos just do not show any of that, I really need to know, he never shows the DAW setup and in the other vidoes a cell phone.. I am honestly scared i will buy this and not have it work for what i need.
@@maplefoxx6285 what are you trying to accomplish with this that the ssl2 can’t ? This comes with these plug ins in the interface. The process sound gets sent to what ever daw you want and/Or to obs as a mic sources. . I’m not too sure if you can send your audio from the daw to obs.
@@WatchMePopOff Yea, i am trying to stream DAW to OBS , currently i use a plugin called ReaStream to do this, but there is latency between the DAW audio and what is coming out of OBS and ReaStream may also crash at times and is not fully stable. I believe you can set the loopback to be picked up in OBS at the same time as running the interface in a DAW and that way the audio is routed to OBS with no latency issues, i am pretty sure that is what he is saying but he doesnt' really show the full details in any videos so I am still confused.
@@maplefoxx6285 sorry I couldn’t be of any help. I can tell you tho, that anytime you run your source into a program on your computer you will have latency. I hope you can figure this out. If I were you I’d just buy it , try use it, and if it isn’t what you want, just return it. Amazon make this pretty much free to do
I can only choose in the Loopback " Live Cast " or " Voice Chat " and if I choose one of them miy mic turns off. What can I do to fix it im completly new in this so I dont understand much of it yet
Thank you for the information. I just got a UR22C this week, and I am trying to get everything setup to go live. I want stream audio from Nuendo 11 while I am talking, but I am getting a terrible feedback when I select the loopback live cast. It appears to be coming from monitoring the track in Nuendo 11. Also, I can't hear my voice coming through the headphones. I would like to hear the mix being broadcast in my headphones. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks for this video! Question: Is there any way to have separate audio tracks when I record? For example Mic audio with my voice on a track, Desktop Audio on another track and Background Music on another track? I managed to do that in OBS so I can edit the recording in Premiere on each audio track. So is it possible to control the volume of each these 3 separate sources using 3 volume knobs from the audio interface?
Thank you, finally. Need to stream into zoom, but because Zoom sounds horrific I was thinking I would use OBS into a pro platform that sounds great and just use zoom to get one guest in. Have any suggestions? I need best audio quality possible as I will be playing it live and my guest will be speaking and sometimes just showing a video feed. Don't want to be constrained to facebook and need very low latency as I will be streaming live.

No...can't hear my audio interface (iConnectAudio2+)...even though OBS recognizes it and audio levels appears peaking on my audio interface but not OBS mixer...why?????
I have the UR12 and I have the same problem. I’m trying to have direct audio for a DJ Set livestreamed through Twitch. The audio device is recognized by OBS, peaking appears on the UR12 but nothing in the OBS mixer
So, I figured out what was it... A weird privacy setting on my Mac preferences that was blocking the sound out of the External Interface... Make sure you allow your Mac to receive audio input in the preferences.

Hi Dom! Is it possible to get this version of dspMixFX with an older Steinberg interface? I have the ur242 and the app looks tiny on my laptop because the screen resolution is 2160x1440, the scaling is 150% and I can't make it bigger because the daw and all other programs will look odd. Thanks!
ahhhhh Loop back....why does OBS make this so difficult....why not be able to add an output source from the soundcard....thanks for great hard to find info! I have a Focusrite....I may have to create this loop manually....ugh...Thanks again!

Does it record live the asio output / sound of Cubase with no latency and send it to OBS while playing live on Cubase ? so far, i was using OBS + Voicemeeter banana but even with their asio driver, there is an awful latency while using cubase live. trying asio link pro too, but it's difficult to make it working and do a mess in my asio drivers / output. is this Usb UR22C compatible with a computer with only USB 3.0 with an adaptater ? if yes, time to replace my old UR22 (Mark I..)
I've got a UR-242 and use the Cockos Reaplugs Reastream plugin to record ASIO output from Cubase into OBS. I would recommend that over Voicemeeter. Reastream is an audio broadcast / network layer that pipes audio between applications. In Cubase you insert Reastream on the masterbus as the last plugin insert and set it to tranceive mode (local broadcast). In OBS, you insert Reastream as a filter effect (input) on an audio chanel and set it to receieve local broadcast. Easy peasy Lemon sqeezy! No need to mess with Voicemeeter and still use the real ASIO driver in Cubase. It can also be used to use 2 DAW's at the same time, so that one DAW can capture the audio from the other DAW.

But you mic IS a mono source... unless you're using a stereo mic. You have to make it a dual-mono source. No microphone is stereo. This probably means that your microphone is panned to the right or the left. If you put it in the middle, then you have a dual-mono (same exact sound in left and right ear) but *not* an actual stereo! Stereo is when you have a slight delay between left and right and mimic the way that we perceive sounds coming from either side. You actually do not want your voice in stereo, because that would make it really weird whenever you slightly change position, people would hear the sound on the left, then on the right. It would be nearly impossible to have consistency broadcasting with a stereo mic. This is a common confusion among beginners. I'm a live engineer and seller for Yamaha Canada through Digital Pro Solution btw, although I'm not an expert on Steinberg products, which are developed in conjunction with Yamaha. Peace!
You can not stream live guitars with VST effects added with a UR22c with the loopback function on. Such a disappointment and really should be made clearer in these videos
Are you guys serious? Look I love Steinberg and Yamaha and I don't want to shit on Dom, but next time, the demo should be made by someone who know how OBS work. It's obvious he was faced with the infinite screen issue every beginner in streaming gets and it's also obvious that this is *NOT* what you want to be streaming. I'm sure Dom is a fantastic sound engineer but he obviously don't understand how OBS works. Kind of cringe actually.

what can i do with a UR22 (not C) if once i load it as "audio Capture Device" on StreamLabs, it capture my mic in Mono?? Going maaaaaad.

I have a UR44 and it doesn't work. I don't have that mix button. Only the microphone goes to OBS, but the VS, or playback, don't.
