Here in the USA, I always loved the homespun humor of The Andy Griffith Show, and the like, and repeated viewing was always as enjoyable. When I discovered Corner Gas, I immediately knew that I was at home with these marvelous Characters/Actors. I have finished watching everything Corner Gas, and know, that in the chill of winter, I will warm my heart with a return to this exceptionally fantastic series.

I discovered it by accident on a Detroit station I was getting for reasons unknown with sub-basic cable in NYC. It came on at around 2 a.m. when I was half-asleep on the couch after a night at the opera (where I worked at the time). At first I didn’t quite like it-I couldn’t tell you why at this point in my fandom-and the episodes may have been out of ord. Then I decided to give it a chance. The moment that sold me was when Davis hugs the pony given to him by Mayor Leroy (RIP Janet Wright❤️) in “Gopher It” (Season 4). I think I woke up just as it was happening. It would be months before I’d see the whole episode for as mysteriously as it appeared, the Detroit station airing reruns was gone ... so I bought seasons 1-5 on DVD. Season 6 was still in production, but at some point I pre-ordered the DVDs. I’ll never lose my enjoyment of this show, and I was ecstatic to meet a fellow fan today online while playing Forge of Empires. The game is tedious, but the chat was lively. He called me a jackass and I replied “hammerhead.” Everyone else in the chat thread must have been quite confused, but perhaps some of them will give “Corner Gas” a whirl ...

Most shows you watch from start to finish and IF you get all the way through, once is enough. I watched every episode every season then the movie, then started again. I watch 2 to 6 episodes every night. I feel its strange to admit this but Im starting season 3 ep 1 tonight for the 6th time. It truly is a great show.

Corner Gas is on my list of the BEST sitcoms ever. It is up there with Cheers, Seinfeld, M*A*S*H(MASH makes it even with its preachiness), Taxi, and all the greats. Thank you Brent and everyone who worked on the show, and to the people of "Dog River" AKA Rouleau. I would love to visit Rouleau, by the way. There were so many great outdoor shots that the little town felt like a character in the show too. I've never been to Canada, but I almost feel as if I have been.

      Red Green
SCTV came out before Saturday night live tried to rip it off - but that's where the best comedians came out of was second City television, not Saturday night live
My other favorite Canadian comedy is almost total opposite - trailer Park boys
Mockumentary parody on American violent TV shows
But probably not for the 10-year-old boy
Most top American shows are rip offs from either Canada or Great Britain England
MASH, The Brady bunch and The Partridge family are probably the most original programming out of the USA

Corner Gas is one of the best comedy shows in Canada. That imaginary small town of Dog River reminds me of Sackville, New Brunswick. A small town where everything just seems to click. I used to spend some of my spare times sitting by the Swan Pond, next to the Convocation Hall at Mount Allison University. The incredible beauty of those two swans and ducks playing around always made my heart warm.

At first I was upset with the animated series because you had someone else voice Janet's role but I quickly noticed the love Corrine had for the role and Janet's impact on fans. She's evolved her voice acting and nailed some of the nuances that Janet had so that it now feels like a respectful homage to the character rather than cashing in on the popularity. Much respect to Corrine Koslo for taking up the role and bringing Emma back to life.

While I’m late to this video, just have to say I’m so glad to have had this series over the last few weeks. Can’t wait to finish the animated series!

Great show. First watched it on WGN Chicago back in 05 or 06. Good clean comedy that America could never do.

Wish I had discovered this show when it was airing. Being an American, I'm always late for Canadian shows. I saw the animated series first then found out about the tv series and this is now one of my goto shows. Any suggestions for other good Canadian shows?

The best Canadian show ever. I must have watched every episode 5 times, and will watch it more. My son grew up watching it since middle school and he is in university and still watching. He actually wanted it us to move to dog river, until I told him that it does not exist, Jack ass.

I was really sad when the series ended. I've got the complete series and the movie so I can have a fix when I need it. I also have Brett's movie No Clue. It was really good. Same great wit and humor.

I loved this show so much. I still watch it in reruns. One thing that always struck me odd is that it was filmed in Canada, and yet we never saw any snow. Great great show though.
