I just finished this the other day. I actually really liked Eadlyn (this seems to be an unpopular opinion, lol). I think her confidence/attitude makes a lot of sense with her upbringing. She's waited on hand and foot and very privileged, so I'm not surprised with her mindset at all.
Also, do you think Maxon and America would have done anything other than tell their daughter she's awesome all the time? At least a part of the reason she's so self-important is because they probably complimented her and praised her ALL THE TIME.
That's probably why. Macon wasn't because is dad was a butt, Maxon and America treat their kids kinda spoiled

I like Eadlyn too although for a different reason, I really admire how I get to see Eadlyn's character Development.
I didn’t like her in the beginning but I loved “seeing” her open up and let people in and fall in love. It genuinely made her a better person for it

1) she's the Main Character of the whole series
2) there are bits and pieces of her selection story that she says throughout The Heir that she says she'll talk about "later"
3) Kiera might not take the chance to get murdered by hundreds of fans (jk)
