I’m still waiting for the hidden feature?? 😡
Great spot, thanks for sharing. Is noise cancellation activated too... or do we need the receiver?
I have both Pocket3 and Mic2 and I love them all.
So do I! The pocket 3's image quality has shocked me and I didn't think the mic 2 would have been a big upgrade but it's great! I love how they connect so seamlessly
I agree, big bang for the buck in these little microphones. I use them in marine environments to capture audio that’s later transcribed. I don’t rely on them for pro audio but you don’t break the bank when you scrap one either.
Yeah they are so great for the price!
Good information on not being able to access the 32 bit float feature without either the Pocket 3 or the receiver. And I've tried plugging a mic into, it sounds great. Thanks for sharing.
No problem! Glad to help, I'm not sure why it's not automatically set to 32 bit
Great hack! I did this with the first gen all the time, mainly for ASMR content.
Nice one! and thanks I hope it helped!
thank you for your Take on it. wonder if it is really stored in the memory of the blue, but can differ in the Green that is hte rx side if disabled
No worries and i'm not sure. What do you mean?
Well done mate thanks 😊
No worries and thanks! Do you have the DJI Mic 2?
@@samuelmaynard84 yes buddy using it for the phone and all cams. Amazing 🤩
Could I pair my solo mic 2 to someone else's pocket 3 or receiver, enable 32 bit float, then it can act solo w/ 32 bit float after that on its own not paired to their devices?
I think you can because on the pocket 3 it says you can connect up to 2 transmitters and I only have 1 transmitter so I'm sure if I buy another one I'll be able to connect to it. Definitely worth a try !
can you charge mic and recording audio inside mic in same time? to extend 6 hours battery. i want to record outdoor audio for 10 hours.
I think you can yes but I'm not 100% sure!
wow totally brilliant that you can plug a sennhesier into it - crazy
So cool!
Apparently it can power xlr mics! I think this is the best thing about it.
we can have wireless xlr mics
What do you do with the 32 bit float audio file afterwards? If I import it in to FCPX it just looks like a normal audio clip, I can't even tell if its 32 bit float or 24 bit.
It's just the file that gets saved onto the DJI mic, I don't know if there's a way to check unless you click on audio attributes or properties on the file, but the way I can tell is if you should very loudly and you can see in the waveform that the audio has peaked, bring it down and if you can still hear it without any distortion or peaking then that's the 32 bit file
how can u look into zoomf3 when that has only xlr inputs? look into zoomf2 for god sake
Can you access 32bit if you connect the mic to a DJI Osmo Action 4?
I don't own the action 4 but I think I've seen someone say that you can. Not 100% sure though might be worth a google!
Yes, you can change it in the settings menu.
yes Action 4 has the same , less the 2nd tx
Have you figured out how to once paired w pocket 3 and enable 32bit disconnect and pair w say x4 360 or iphone and still have 32bit?
I think you can only have 32 bit when you record internally , even when paired with pocket 3 you can't have it you just need it to activate it I think
Hi, if 32 bit float is set-up for the DJI Mic 2, then this will record internally to the microphone (if required) when connected to a DJI Mic 2 Receiver, an DJI OSMO Pocket 3 or an DJI Action 4. If you subsequently pair the DJI Mic 2 with an Insta360 X4 (note that re-pairing is a MUST have), then whilst the Mic 2 is connected to the Insta360X4, then 32 bit FLOAT recording on the MIc2,will NOT work. Even if you start the Mic 2 recording before you connect it to the X4, the recording will STOP. You also cannot use the Mic 2's built-in noise reduction when connected to the X4.
However, if you do NOT connect the DJI 2 to anything, but you have enabled 32 bit float and/or noise reduction, then those features can be used with the Mic 2 in standalone mode and the soundtrack can be downloaded separately to your preferred NLE in post production.
Thank You as confim this is what im seeing aswell.🎉
If you've enabled 32 bit float by using either the DJI Mic 2 Receiver, A DJI OSMO Pocket 3 or a DJI Action 4, then the 32 bit float recording will work with either the built-in Mic of the Mic 2 or many other Mic's if they have a suitable connector and capabilities, including Lavalier microphones. An alternative product is the Zoom F2-BT which has the advantage of being able to install a large Micro SD card and can use standard replaceable rechargeable AAA batteries, This comes with a Lavalier microphone, but no internal Mic. Unfortunately the Zoom device doesn't transmit.
32 bit float recordings however do need their sound loudness 'normalising' to -23db LUFs in something like Audacity or your favourite NLE. i.e. there's always some work required with the downloaded audio. 😀
Nice one thanks a lot for the info appreciate the help!
Note: This won't work with any microphone that needs Phantom Power (48V).
MKE600 is designed to work on camera and requires just 3 or 5v of PiP "plug in power" (don't really remember rn), which is a standard also for lavalier mics.
Ohhh yeah true, luckily the sennheiser has a battery that's how I used mine
does using the mic totally finishes off background noises like waterfalls, people talking etc ?
I've not really tried noise cancelling, only by accident and I didn't like the sound but I think it does a good job
@@samuelmaynard84ahh ok thanks.. if u can make a video about this I would be more than happy to see :)
Slick hack!
Thanks man!
How's that a hidden feature?
Know since day 1 i bought and everyone else in all dji pockets threads
sorry, there's a lot more to clipping than just 32bit
I really wish RUclipsr would state something like the best 2.4GHz Consumer grade or even Pro Consumer grade. But it's NOT close to the best Wireless system, my Shure Axient System is hugely better, the Lav (Shure TL48) just more than the entire DJI Mic 2 kit (don't get me wrong I like my little Pocket 3 and Mic 2) but It can't compete with Pro system. It can't even compete with older system like Sennheiser G3 systems
Hey , what I meant was the best wireless system for the price, you can purchase a single transmitter for under £100 that's packed with all these features and is so easy to use. Of course sennheiser G3 and other mic systems are leading the Wireless market!
Doesn't matter. They STILL haven't fixed the time sync issue.
