@@wootwootjrYes, technically. But in actuality after driving it and trying the different settings over and over, the difference was hardly noticeable at best. The servo actuated wing isn’t a new concept. It’s been tried before in RC. It’s not used often because it’s not a monumental performance increase.
Rlaarlo always sends there cars with TH. Dual rates down (every one I've gotten has been this way out of the box) most other reviewers are pullling nearer to 40 mph on 2s and 50 plus on 3s. Rlaarlo is one of the only Budget rc manufactures thats living up to its speed claims. just kinda surprized you didnt have the same experience as many others have.
The car does do 75mph with a 3s and included speed gearing. It's an incredibly fast car for a 1/10th, drivetrain handles 4s no problems, I'm running a 3665 can and 4s and 100mph not even on speed gearing. The car is STOUT. just needs foam tires for 100+mph speeds. Radio is also compatible with dumbo RC. Probably the best speed car for the money ever sold
I’ve ordered one after watching someone else’s review and yours, you can get the body slightly lower by putting the suspension on the farthest holes on the lower swing arms. I can’t wait to get mine 👍
Moving the shocks out alters the handling the car first and foremost. The better route would actually be to adjust the droop screws. The chassis sits too high from the factory. When the droop is adjusted the wheels will look higher in the wheel arches.
@@rcdriver yes and Thankyou, I was going by the other review and he had just moved the shocks along a hole which I did think?? Yes droop screws are the better route, thanks for tge tip 💯😎
I really like the looks of the body, and I really like the looks of the chassis. It's too bad you have to put them together, cuz they do look kinda silly sitting all up high like that.
I'm going to bet the ESC is from Surpass Hobby. They produce some motor and ESC with that same sensor cable and connector and it's a temperature sensor. If the motor gets too hot the ESC shuts down, but it's a normal sensorless brushless system otherwise. To be fair that car looks sick, might be very well worth it.
Im going to attempt to get mine to race. Going in a straight line is fun but the real ones did more than go fast in the straights. Im going to experiment with camber, toe, shocks, and tires to see how good i can get it to handle in the corners.
I would think about using channel mixing to make the rear wing change position with throttle input. But you would need a better radio or add a v-tail mixer.
this is completely off of the content of this video but will you be doing an arrma gorgon .. like in particular the kit version build with your bous then run ,add some of the arrma color sets and maybe brushless upgrades like the razer 2 in 1 3300kv motor &esc combo and get brushed / brushless 2wd MT racing .. these would be a fantastic spec -club/heat racing class ...
I was about to send mine back when I realized the throttle limiter was on 50 percent! Rlaarlo, please stop doing that or mention it on the box! I almost sent back a good car. Now, after some mods, I am clear into the 100+ speed range!
I’ll keep my Arrmas, but have a dual motor version of this on the way. My Infraction is just a beast to haul around and my 3s BLX Infraction is a lot of fun, but not fast enough. Hope I can hit the advertised speeds with the 2 motor version or the 787.
Its 1/10 scale..so if its hitting 20mph ,thats like full size car going 200 mph..so what speed is high speed for this car do you think...? Wings have been on rc cars even before they could hit 20 mph..
I think the AK-787 is like an elf.. "better on the shelf" LOL. Looks the part, just not really good at playing the part. Given the price, fair enough. I've been seeing all kinds of stuff on the internet about the Rlaarlo so I came to see what all the fuss was about. I'll pass. There isn't a surface smooth enough in my zip code to get 75mph out of one of these brushless powered "paper weights" LOL. Nice job on the video though, as always!!
The bodies on these are amazing, but it's bones are very run of the mill cheap... like Traxxas. Still, a good set of tires would probably make it a better car
Are these stateside yet? I pre-ordered the 917 when they first came out. Waited, waited, and more waiting and it never came. Every month I sent an email about progress, and every month I would get a sporadic answer. Finally I ran it up the chain with PayPal and they responded wanting more money saying they miss-quoted. I responded to PayPal for refund and received every penny I pre-order paid luckily. So I’m all, unless there is someone doing “dealer” stateside, I would stay away from this company especially…
Thank you very much for your support of RLAARLO! We have now optimized logistics and transportation! Everything is shipped according to the planned time! 787 is on limited sale this time! There will be no oversold phenomenon!
@@EdisonRCWorkshop I still have a bad taste for this company. No matter what, unless there is a US distributor I will “NEVER” give this company a penny of support. Reviews of good are all influencers that the company gave the product to. So yah, I’m “NOT” a supporter and never will be. 👎🏼
Just a fancy Red Cat is all it is. And yes, they all need 3s batteries. Terrible torque steer with the shaft drive. And the ESG looks like a Hobbywing.
Sooooooooo, thanks for vid however I do have some comments. The first is that this is not a "Prototype" body style. It is directly styled after the group D race car from Mazda, just like th elast car was styled after the Group D Porsche. Secondly, you complain about the handling and drive it like a car park basher. It's not design to do that. It is design to be like the race car, a race car. You never saw the group D cars driving like drifters or thieves. The car is designed for track racing or speed runs. The rear spoiler is most active at speed (see where this is going?) it will produce more downforce the faster you go. The idea is that on your speed runs you start with it up to help keep the rear wheels straight and gripping then as you reach higher speeds you lower the rear spoiler to allow both grip and slip. No point in sitting there hammering a car when you have not tested it as designed and honestly IMHO did a poor job of reviewing it for the purpose it is intended. I do enjoy this channel a lot but you missed the mark on this one brother by a good amount.
Exactly! The wing does it job with higher speeds! I got 2 (the white blue nd the homage color green/orange) And if he is installing the gears what’s in the box separately (just like traxxas or arrma) then it will go allot faster
I do own a buggy 1 /10 amewi RTR brushless engine new rips plastic gear and brass pin gear to easy must be steel tampered and touthpin gear fit good thing a 3d print could be giving even easier bigger spoiler and new front one then is stabile faster for fun start and trying good at excellent price to buy but then figure out batery pack is slight to small to enjoy race track so double batery pack needed as first view model should do takrat ower 70kmh that is realistic and in tune like 85kmh and price realistic is like 300 EUR best buy if 4s option adapter for twin batery pack and race model ready as twin model engine and that is how you response to good idea and offer tech supported idea as finished product the twin engine is kind upgrade drive and tune race track model kindand at more price but not much more

The 787B is a beast! And its noise... mannn!!!!
I know I'm late, but I just ordered the roller, so I'm watching all the 787 vids.
You can set the back wing servo, on the receiver to work with the throttle and you will have automatic back wing adjustment 😊
But why? For a .5% performance gain?

Fyi this has 8th scale diffs apparently so the drivetrain seems quite durable.
Can't wait, will be my first speedrun build, been waiting for a good 787b inspired car.
Maybe its set that way out the box for kids and beginners. Like a training mode.
The carbon fiber version has a 120A esc and a different motor, and can handle 4S. With that you can hit close to 75Mile/h

would you go straight for one of these or a Gorgon if you relatively new to the hobby??
Gorgon

ESC is independently developed by RLAARLO! You can compare the low-speed linearity, durability and corresponding speed of the ESC!
Very cool but I am surprised they didn't send you the carbon fiber version or did you pick the metal version ?
I wasn’t offered an option. The Carbon fiber version does look cool.

I was wondering when they get shipped out because RUclipsrs have them and it says pre sale
U missed that it can be setup with dual motors.
the chassis layout is similar to my RC Blackout , these sure look great though !
Yup, some nice stuff on there.
This thing is super Rad dude💯
Very nice machine , hopefully they do a Gt40 body.
Use a servo Y lead and use the adjustable wing with throttle control,
Or use radio gear with channel mixing,
Eh, but the difference is so minuscule, I’d rather put the efforts in elsewhere to get it dialed in.
It's an absolutely stunning RC got one on order and can't wait for it
Can this car take 3s batteries?
Like the spoiler angle matters 😂 great looking car. I'm trying to decide what R car to get. Great review thanks
Ya needs some tuning for sure but at that price it looks pretty good and may have potential to be a great car.

I would think about using channel mixing to make the rear wing change position with throttle input. But you would need a better radio or add a v-tail mixer.
I’m going to put more time into tuning the car itself. No sense in messing with the wing if the car itself is too far out.
Can do it on the standard controller Tomley RC did it , a difference of 48 or 50mph on 3s with/without wing @@rcdriver
Everyone so far is getting 33-40mph on a 2S battery.
That eas alert was totally unexpected.
So does this radio have any gyro settings? Or would you need to install gyro on car ,or buy a different radio and rx with gyro..Thanks
The explanation was very detailed!
Thank you!
very very similar parts to LRP touring car like tires, central shaft and spur gear, shocks and motor mount , but crazy body shells
I just recently heard about them from someone who stopped by my track with 1 of their buggies.
So the 3s 4500mah fit good? As did esc get hot on 3s? Thanks
Cool car. Wing is a neat gimmick but just a gimmick as far as I can tell. I might buy one some day...who knows.
There will be a 4x4 monstertruck out soon. Thats what seems to be interesting.
