People really have short memories. I can remember waiting in line about two hours for Indy in the 90’s. I can also remember waiting a really long time for star tours and the people mover. I can remember going almost all around the Matterhorn waiting over an hour. With more people comes more reasons for rides to go down. There so many reasons for it and not just because they’re broken. More people means more biologicals and things to clean up, more things on the tracks, more pressure on the WiFi systems, more slowing/stopping of rides for disabilities, more staffing needed, etc. one thing I can say is that people are less tolerant of each other and less patient about things not going as they expected or planned. I don’t go into to Disneyland for high hopes, I go for the feeling I get stepping under the bridge and seeing Main Street. I go to escape and spend time with those I love.

@@MishyMouseEars they really don’t. I loved waiting in line. I hated when I was introduced to fast pass system by friends. You had to race over to get the fast pass and then wait til the time to go on. Never made sense to me 😂
I remember waiting in line 2+ hours when Batman at MM opened. It was going so slow that we sat on the concrete for awhile. They really don’t know how to wait when a ride is down 10 minutes nowadays and they have cell phones. We had to find entertainment, probably truth or dare or something like it 🤣

Hey David, so according to what I read on a Spectrum News 13 blog from Orlando that was posted in December of last year, Tiana's hill is a "salt dome" which is a natural geologic formation in parts of Louisiana which is supposed to help with the story line and she bought the salt mine for the Co-Op.

I was at Disneyland this past Tuesday. We bought our day tickets (no passes) and our first visit since Covid. We were so disappointed. Super crowded, difficult to walk around. Plus rude cast members, this was a first for me. Everyone was happy in the past, now everyone is grumpy. Guests were also pushy and rude. I grew up at Dland and was so sad at how it feels now. I don't think I'll be back for quite a while. I was impressed with Its a Small World as all the animatronics were working! The Holiday overlay is beautiful. As a side note, I had to get beignets so went to Beignet Express. They were good but the whole place feels/looks so industrial now, there is no character to the Jazz Kitchen. Ate at Tortilla Joe's which was excellent.

These younger cast members, and people in general have become desensitized with rudeness because of social media, phones, etc. It’s the detriment to SOCIETY.

I will say we had a great time 12/4-12/8 - however Saturday 12/9 was an aboslute nightmare and SOOO many people, glad we got our fun in during the week. It was sad that Cars, Indy, Rise, M&M RR, were down so frequently, it did appear to be excessive where the last day in DCA we couldn't even get on Cars unfortunately.

Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney has been kicked around, re-located, temporarily closed and re-opened to the point of exhaustion. This business makes an honorable product, has good customer service and volume, and is a great option for someone who doesn't want to spend a fortune on lunch/dinner. Disney has shown this client very little respect and I am amazed that EoS has tolerated it as much as they have. Disney needs to give them a year of free rent residency for all the trouble they have caused them. Much respect to EoS for sticking with us and staying strong throughout their tumultuous tenure at the resort. I, as a customer/guest greatly appreciate the tenacity EoS has shown as they have been moved around and denied a place of their own. Hopefully, once construction is completed, they'll have a happy home that they can finally call their own well into the future.

I went on Sunday morning for rope drop. Disneyland was dead from 8-11. We did all the fantasyland rides even petter pan, pirates, big thunder, rise, millennium, and runaway ALL BEFORE 11am. We left at 11:30 and there were a ton of people coming into the park. I know you can jump at 11 but it was crazy how quiet it was Sunday and the amount of people coming in at 11. I feel like that’s late already lol

  • @saitoman
    @saitoman 8 месяцев назад +1

The frequency of the rides being temporarily closed has increased for several attractions. Some more than others. I don’t have hard data, but I believe it is because of three main factors. 1. More riders increases factors of guests interacting with attraction improperly (dropping phones, not following rules, etc), causing emergency stops which can cause major problems. 2, the attraction crews are not the same. Many of these crews are not long time employees and don’t have the feel and understand the temperament of the attaction. 3. Maintenance and repairs are not substantial enough to increase long-term reliability, but more as just enough to get back online and not permanently fix the problem compounded with the age of some attractions akin to arteries hardening from lack of use.

I wonder if they are trying to "hide" the mountain so to speak and just cover it in so much foliage that it looks just like the edge of a forest which can be pretty thick and obscure. I mean it would sort of make sense to try and force you to forget about the mountain concept and just be envisioning a lush/thick forest. BUT if it was supposed to be the bayou, it should be less floral and more spanish moss looking.....Another thing to remember about Magic kingdom is that Splash Mountain is set in Frontierland, quite literally next door to BTM. The huuuuge foliage overload is jarring to the desert/emptiness of BTM literally a stone throw away

It seems they are going with a slightly different look for the splashes between the parks. Similar to how the coloring of galaxies edge is different due to higher humidity and what colors and foliage would fit within that atmosphere. The model is disneyland’s, so i would expect disneylands to have the more mossy look on the top and disneyworld to have the more ivy like plants growing on it.

It's the holiday season which accounts for the majority of the crowds, but Provost Park Pass pointed out in his rant the other day that it's Genie Plus adding to the crowds swimming about the park because they are not waiting in line for attractions. It's not an exact science but it seems about right. Disney paved a road to hell with profit in mind (pardon the hyperbole).

Larger groups take longer to get to the park from Hotel rooms. This is from experience. There are a ton of very large groups 6+ families. December is horrible for crowds. Also, huge groups cannot decide where they are going which in turn clogs up the walkways.
I noticed that a good sign of how many Magic Keys are in attendance, go to the Toy Story Parking Lot on a Saturday at 10:30 am. If there is a huge line, there is a large Magic Key population at the park.

A closure can remove a bottle neck of waiting folks and disperse them to other rides, food purchases, shopping, and shows. 30-60-90 minutes later, the ride opens and begins to populate again. A closure removes a very large congregation of people all at once. I know when Indy is closed at rope drop sometimes, not everyone goes to Pirates (I do, but it is not automatic for some). They may go to Thunder, Haunted, Pooh...dispersing the crowd around the park.

I can imagine nobody does WDW construction updates bc its such a HUGE property and takes forever to get between parks and with park hopping not being allowed until 2pm, that's been difficult as well. 4 parks, 2 waterparks. That's a lot to cover. I used to watch David's Fresh Baked WDW vids all the time. Its A LOT of content. Full time job commitment.

29:52 I don't mind the painting...it's nice. What I'm not a fan of when I first saw it was the color. I am so used to the rustic barn brown color. Plus the surrounding buildings. I hope Land does something different with their color.

You mention the Astro Orbiter's "arms" and how you couldn't see them. In Carny-speak any ride's "arms" are referred to as "sweeps."

More of a Mangrove Tree appearance. Pretty much a feature of that area of the world.

So, I think the crowds are partly due to the holidays. When I was planning my 2nd DL trip back-to-back from my birthday trip, trying to find a reservation in just November was pretty glitchy and a lot of days were blocked off because of the reservation system/a lot of people already booked. I would have no doubt it's the same in December. I wouldn't be surprised if DL upped the rate of people coming in, since they both want more people to come to the parks and a lot of people see this as "after covid" (even though covid is still a thing). When I last looked, crowds won't die down like this until Febuary. Yes, DL is always going to be crowded. However, some days and seasons are going to be better than others. Holiday season may be the best theme wise, but the worst crowd wise.

I’m wondering if Magic Kingdom’s Tiana’s got a 4 month head start, because it’s just a bigger attraction with more to do. And they estimated it would take about 4 months more of work for them to be complete at around the same time.

I feel like e ticket rides are close early in the day to push everyone to smaller rides. It’s odd just a feeling I have. And yes we didn’t renew our pass because the parks getting more and more crowded and less enjoyable for us who travel cross country

I dont think its magic keys that they are letting in. I have the so cal key (imagine i think) and I was blocked out of all December. No warning, no heads up. When I renewed it, there were days I could have gone in December but no, they took it away

Is it just me or does the “mountain” at Tiana’s seem out of scale compared to the lift hill building (HM side of the mountain) in the lower left? That building now seems huge in comparison.

Nope not abnormal on that side. We don’t all rope drop. Some of us fly in go to hotel then come over. And I believe they’re back to pre Covid levels. We felt that in November when we were there on a tues wed Thur

We were there this weekend, it was awful. The worst time I ever visited. It just seems Disney is way unorganized. indiana, Rise, Runaway Railway, Radiator Springs were basically closed all weekend. We noticed when one opened, one closed. Also all the rides were being run at half capacity, is this a staffing issue??

Thank you for your updates sir! Question, we noticed days ago (from other videos) the block fence under the railroad bridge between Hungry Bear and Galaxy’s Edge, do you think this could be an area specifically built back for the snack cart that when there, blocks half the walkway? Over the weeks of watching videos, my wife and I will just shake our heads seeing a cart, manned or not, taking up the walkway, and we always say that it should be built under the bridge to help with traffic flow. (So many other places traffic flow could be helped out too, but that discussion for another time 😆)

What time should we be at the Toy story parking lot tram to arrive at Rope Drop 40min before park opens? FYI: We're walking over from a hotel (not actually parking a car). We'll be there this Fri 12/14 thru Wed, 12/20.
    Thanks!!
