It hasn't been said enough, but I really appreciate Mack for playing games on a mid range PC. This helps a lot of people deciding on whether to buy a game or not. Many reviewers play on a god tier pc and say it runs well. Yeah no shit Sherlock. While playing on a mid tier pc can make a world of difference.
It's a Paradox game. They were a great company years ago but ever since they went public they consistently release unfinished games and make you pay for the updates.
I’m seeing more similarities to Dyson Sphere program as well. Craft basic mats on the go, you’re a robot, you automate, you research, and now you defend. Only difference is Dyson Sphere isn’t first person. Which honestly I like. But I’ll check this one out too.

I've heard of Factorio a few times in the past but never got my attention. Then I saw your review of it and bought it. Man I just can't get enough of it!! It's so effing addictive! I'm buying this to play after I get bored of Factorio since you've recommended it =)
I picked up Satisfactory after finishing Planet Crafter. Oh my life, what an incredible game. While I haven't played this, it just looks like a poor man's version of it.
I played foundry last year on my channel both as solo and co-op. I did the same with Satisfactory and Factorio in conjunction with another channel. Personally I prefer how Satisfactory works. I wasn't keen on the Minecraft elements of Foundry. The tech tree looks incredibly similar to Factorio. I did like the methods of power delivery and displays on the machines. I find Factorio very complicated. It is mainly due to trying to figure out how the maths works. I find the maths in Satisfactory easier to calculate in the beginning, needing a spreadsheet in the middle to late game. I like the presentation of Satisfactory in terms of its art style too. I might return to Foundry at some point when I see further development.
I had a blast plaiyng Satisfactory for a time, but every time I played it, there was a loud voice in my head that kept saying: "Factorio does this better / easier / more convenient". When I was trying demo of this, the voice was even louder.
Too bad that Satisfactory has a static map meaning you can google the resource locations and most optimal layout to get there. No challenge whatsoever. Factory games NEED procgen to be good.
@@UltimatePerfection Love me some procedural maps but that’s not true. That’s a big map with several spawn points with several ways to play the game. don’t look online for solutions. Game still provides tons of hours of entertainment.
Satisfactory isn’t fun (imo) after the first several hours and getting things established. There’s no real challenge after that. Factorio is the king of factory builders hands down.
I always rush to coal as fast as possible in Satisfactory because the first few tiers are so grindy. After starting and restarting that game, so many times (think I have about 900 hours in it), I finally just made a save game file that starts at coal.
Satisfactory is very easy to grasp, mass build, but there are some things that could be better (like Techtonica conveyor building and mass collect of resources). Will check out if this is any reitaration of a formula :D
It's actually a very good game now that I got the chance to play it on steam. Feature-wise it's quite complete, it has a MASSIVE tech tree, I would say even bigger than Satisfactory, although the game is unpolished right now, but that's expected with early access. I like it, it's a good quality game and they implemented a lot of QoL changes. I was hesitant because of Paradox, but I'm pleasantly surprised I must say.

When you're talking about this in compared to satisfactory and all the differences it's really much closer to factorio which is why I love it. Crafting on your pocket, the way the belts and everything works, etc. It gets much more complex and they're adding more all the time, but the voxell and being locked to a grid but 3D and all that stuff is really great to me I don't like the freeform nature of satisfactory even though I still like the game
This looks like its a no mans sky release day compared to satisfactorys elite. This looks like games to elite being a second job. Huge projects in satisfactory have a strong feeling of accomplishment when done. And i have only just over 300 hours in satisfactory where big builders have double that time spent on one project
I believe this was in development before satisfactory. And I've spent over 2000 hours in both games for this one. Is it better by far? They change some of the Mining in it. And I'm at the biggest fan of it but I still like it better. I miss the old school trains underground. But just overall a damn, good game.
The main thing I don't get about these 3D factory games is why anyone would bother with 3D and wouldn't just play Factorio. You'll never be able to reach the same level of complexity and satisfaction in a game like this from a first-person perspective

Looks good but I think you should check out Satisfactory again ;) A year and a half is a long time and they haven't stopped creating content and improving QoL. Satisfactory has set the bar very high.

Also paradox makes me wince, the greediest company in the world. Once they got their hand on prison architect it went to shit. Could you use your good relationship with paradox to ask them to stop adding that dumb launcher into everything they publish? It's just annoying to take steps to get rid of that useless bloatware. I hope we won't see the paradox's calling card and see 20 DLCs... I swear there are better publishers nowadays... Also this game has been in development apparently before satisfactory.

would like to try this game but the graphic look really basic. the first thing I experience when trying satisfactory was the graphic even its not the best but its good for these small games most of this factory clones have bad graphic expect for satisfactory. they need to ignore the lies that say graphic doesn't matter because it really does matter and I think I will ignore this one

Played 9 hours in the last Next Fest. Maybe it was my fault for playing a limited time demo instead of a demo on my schedule. Maybe I've just played too many factory games. Or maybe Foundry is just boring. Simply a note of caution. Foundry is NOT for everyone who likes Factorio and Satisfactory. I DO want to root for the games success though. Just temper expectations and hope you can tell in the refund window if it's for you. 2 hrs is rough to judge for games like these. Also, this is Paradox. HIGHLY recommend waiting a year after the full release to see what base game content vs DLC is. Already one bad DLC IMHO.
Would love to see more innovation in this space. Fusing Satisfactory with Minecraft and removing the charm that makes each replayable is not it. Game looks totally uninteresting. And for $30!? So do we just give every Early Access game a pass now? Between this review and the "Best game ever" review of Manor Lords recently, I'm confident in saying Mack has lost all credibility.

They did add alot of QoL in Satisfactory since you last played it! They added also new content, ported the game to UE5 and so on.

The look of the toolbar and the way objects are rotated remind me a lot of Infinifactory by Zachtronics. Are the two games/developers related?

i love how little early grind there is, i remember in satisfactory forever collecting leaves for biofuel
You can get past that stage very quickly, sometimes I kinda miss clearing forests with the chainsaw for biofuel since I get to coal so fast now
