    Thanks for video. Can You give us a torque set for bolts?

    Hello,
    What brand did you use for the oil cooler gaskets?
    My Opel Astra J is leaking oil from the oil cooler and there is oil deposits in the coolant reservoir.
    Do you know with what force the bolts from the exhaust manifold, turbocharger and oil cooler should be tightened?

      I have used febi but I think any brand will do the job. Just make sure to buy the proper one because are 2 types of oil coolers on the cars.

    Hello, i have insignia Sportstourer 1.6 turbo A16LET same engine, i see oil leaks at oil pan and i smell antifreeze when i stopped the car, i bought complete oil cooler , 3lt antifreeze, Liqui Moly toptec 4600 5w30 and GM oil filter and filtron air filter, is there any other parts i need to buy?

    • @vabprojects
      @vabprojects  Год назад

      Because you will dismantle the turbo and the exhaust from the engine you will need to change the gasket between the exhaust and engine. Oil cooler seals if doesn't come with them, there are some oring s that seals the pipes frome the oil cooler to the block but it's possible to reuse the old ones if thei are still good (preferably to change them). Make sure to drain the coolant before you unmount the oil cooler ,that way coolant doesn't enter the oil circuit. Also if you unmount the exhaust and turbo I recomand (optionaly) to unmount the oil pan and clean it before new oil ( here gasket sealant).

      Hi! Have you done this yet? Problem solved? I also experience dirt in the coolant tank, can smell the coolant around the car from the engine bay and there is some oil on the floor in the garage. So, it is my turn to get it done. I hope this is the cause. ?

    To change oil cooler is necessery to drain the all oil ? Good Job!!!

    • @vabprojects
      @vabprojects  3 года назад

      I 100% recommend to drain the oil and the coolant from the car first (at least the coolant) because when you take the oil cooler out , if you have coolant in it and want to keep the oil, it's very likely that some of the coolant can enter the oil circuit and drain in the oil pan. It is possible to remove it and keep the oil but definitely you have to drain the coolant first.

    Nice video! I want to see how to clean the cat! And what kind of chemicals use for cleaning. One more thing! My rear-view mirror dont heating, but the rear window work well. They work with same button. Where to find the solution? Thx any help!

    • @vabprojects
      @vabprojects  3 года назад

      The heated mirrors and the rear window work from the same button. If is below 4 degree Celsius their start heating automatically. Try to check the fuse's to see if they are all good and start from there.

      @@vabprojects Thank!! Hi VAB,
      I was wondering if you had the video of the 1st part where you get the Multiple and Turbo? Since I have to change the cooler and I have not been able to release the Manifold, I removed the 9 nuts and the Catalyst ties but it is still hooked somewhere, what else will I have to release? It will be the oil feed pipe?

    • @vabprojects
      @vabprojects  2 года назад

      Yup. You will need to release the oil pipe and the cooling pipe (if you have one) from the turbo housing. Then the 9 nuts from the manifold and it will come off with a little bit of struggle. I have a video with this steps ruclips.net/video/5zzpwYZl6Ik/видео.html
      I hope you will find this helpful.

    How do you notice when it's leaking

    • @vabprojects
      @vabprojects  2 года назад

      You will notice oli underneath the car all over the block going down on the oil pan and in my case was also driping on the ground. If you have a shield you will see oil on it. If is not a big leak is mostly focus in the surounding area of the oil cooler on the block and on the cooler itself.

      @@vabprojects I am pleased about that. I hope it will run smoothly for a long time. Some people say it needs to be changed completely, I'm a little confused. As far as I understand, there is no need for this, it is enough to replace the gasket set. maybe the heat exchanger can be changed as an extra.

    • @vabprojects
      @vabprojects  2 года назад +3

      If the heat exchanger has no leaks there is no point in changing it. You can test it in water if you plug the holes and put pressure inside trough one hole. If is not leaking then you only need to change gaskets and thets it.
