Just outstanding (as is this channel). Forget Spotify, I'll just listen to this! This song showcases Roy's incredible range. There are few who could surpass him (except Freddy of course). It's my second favourite Roy Orbison song (if you exclude the Traveling Wilburys "Handle With Care") - my favourite has to be "Everything You Want (You Got It)". I didn't know Jeff Lynne produced this song but it makes perfect sense. Tom Petty, George Harrison and Roy Orbison - such outstanding talents and sorely missed. As for ELO - come on Jay and Amber - review "Hold on Tight" (ruclips.net/video/UkekqVPIc2M/видео.html ) please!

Roy Orbison was considered to be one of the best singers who ever lived. There are so many Tunes that you need to hear. He was the master of expressing what it's like to have your heart broken. Only the Lonely, crying, it's over, Running Scared just too many to list. You can never go wrong with Roy orbison. Bruce Springsteen paid tribute to him on the first song of the Born to Run album, Thunder road, when he sang, "Roy Orbison sings for the lonely, hey that's me and I want you only." Later in his career, Bruce got to play with Roy which I can't even imagine what it was like for him. You can see it on the video of the concert film a black and white night, where so many of the great artists of the day joined him for a tribute concert.

I love the reactions you guys do to Roy Orbison's music. In my opinion he was and still is the best singer n pop/rock history. Please do a reaction to Crying, the duet version with Roy and K D Lang. It is one of the most beautiful songs you will ever hear. Both of their voices are incredible in this song and it is like his voice got even better with age. Thank you so much. I love your channel.

As the daughter of a mother who's a fan of Roy Orbison (I was a bit indoctrinated, lol) I was very happy to see popular actors of that moment, Jason Priestly (teenage soap Beverly Hills 90210) and Jennifer Connelly (film Labyrinth) in this music video. Now you did this song maybe you can also react to the version of Cyndi Lauper. And as well the original song ”Blue Bayou” by Roy Orbison of which you reacted to the cover version by Linda Ronstadt.

At the time of his death, Roy Orbison had just started working on a new album with Rick Rubin, the producer responsible for Johnny Cash's last albums that gave us Johnny's song "The Man Comes Around" and his cover of "Hurt." Those albums sparked a resurgence of interest and appreciation for Johnny Cash in the last years of his life, and Rubin most likely would have done the same for Roy Orbison. Tragically, Roy passed away before work on the album really began, leaving us all wondering what magic Rubin might have worked for Roy at the twilight of his life.

Elvis famously said that Roy Orbison was the most beautiful voice he ever heard. But much less known, Roys next door neighbor as a teenager made the same statement. His neighbor and child hood playmate was Johnny Cash. Let that sink in.

Great story how Roy was on tour with the Stones in New Zealand.
They were all around the pool sunbathing and Keith Richards said to Roy... 'Hey Roy, aren't you due on stage in 10 minutes?' Roy replied, 'I think you are right. He slowly got up and sauntered away. 10 minutes later he was suited and booted and on stage.
In Richards Autobiography he said that Roy did that a lot and Keith couldn't figure out how.

If nothing else, you get the opportunity to check out that "Custom" guitar of his... I had not seen it in years until I noticed recently it was on RUclips.

FYI: Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly wrote and composed the song intended for Roy Orbison. While Roy Orbison was the first to record it in 1987 it wasn’t released until 1992 so Cyndi Lauper’s version was actually the first to be released in 1989.

Roy wore glasses but when he went on tour to the U.K. In the early 1960’s he accidentally left them on the plane. He still had his prescription sunglasses with him so he was forced to wear them to his concert and they were a big hit so he wore them ever since. Also a big headliner like Roy would usually have an opening band. Which band do you suppose was lucky enough to open for him? The Beatles!

I thought this was the original, but Cyndi Lauper is actually the original (sort of). It was originally written for him. They did a test recording (that you are hearing right here), and the writers wanted to tweak the wording. He was to do another take after. Turns out he tragically died before they got back to him. The writers had also written for Cyndi Lauper and decided to take it to her to see what she thought of it. She liked it and made it for her next album. A couple years later the writers were meeting with a record company and they happened to mention that they were putting together a greatest hits of Roy Orbison. The writers got excited and said we've got him doing a take of a song no one has ever heard. The record company liked it and made it the single for the greatest hits album.
