Firstly Ashoka didn't renounce violence! He renounced war! There are Buddhist proofs itself which say he slaughtered Jain monks for clashing with Buddhists! Also Chandragupta maurya the grandfather of Ashoka was from a lower Varna ! Yet accepted as a king! The British and partly the society created the differences for which dharma can't be blamed!

Chandragupt Maurya is mentioned as 139th generation of Lord Krishna's family. Due to Ashoka The Maurya Empire have been collapsed after his death Just in 5 decades.
After becoming thin there will be no lower Varna or upper Varna

I’ve read amply about Ashoka and no denying he did all those massacres even after his alleged conversion. But historians like Thapar take the good written about Ashoka with a pinch of salt (or a handful rather) while they take the negatives at face value. There is an undeniable bias: we don’t say that Alauddin Khilji built roads and tanks, but then any other ruler would have done the same. Historians appreciate the architectural legacies he left behind, same for any other ruler. But with Ashoka there is a deliberate attempt to just oppose the earlier narratives of him being generous. Pushyamitra Shunga ascended throne soon after the Mauryas, what is his legacy? We don’t see any milestone achievements there: so if Ashoka did leave behind an indelible achievement, it wouldn’t hurt to recognise it. And in the general course of development of the subcontinent, agriculture expanded and urbanisation spread after the Mauryan period, so post Mauryan period will definitely be more prosperous than the former. The international relations established by the Mauryas reaped dividends in the later centuries after their rule, when the converted Buddhist nations actively began seeking India for trade and cultural exchange, more so than older times. So the argument of Mauryan rule lacking prosperity is also very biased. And every ruler in history has walked a tightrope, even Akbar the Great known for his religious tolerance imposed and abolished Jiziya several times, and he even massacred Hindus during his siege of Chittor. That doesn’t mean I hate or love Akbar. He was a historical figure and I appreciate him only for his achievements. But some historians cannot do the same with Ashoka, simply because they feel Ashoka “the generous” represents a certain political narrative. No. There have been no ideal kings or queens anywhere in the past; but there certainly have been those who strived to attain and preach certain ideals of a utopian society, and that is the greatest legacy people like Ashoka leave behind.

You can't fight and protect your own people and grow some balls to invade others, you deserve to be uprooted and made forever indentured servants of your masters who are good invaders...Gangheis Khan is the father of modern humanity. 1 in 200 men carry his genes directly. To know about Ashoka you need to learn right from the beginning of Mauryas Dynasty, how Aacharya Chanakya and Chandragupt counter the Alexander invasion in Indian subcontinent . Their combined efforts make India as Akhand Bharatvarsh means United India. Then you know about the legacy Mauryas and Ashoka the great . One of the great emperors of all time.

This may have been much about the negatives but it's not fake.
Kings those days were crazy, we can never idolize anyone from the history. Everyone has done wrongs, killed innocents, married more than one woman etc etc
Every ruler or ruling country, which ruled India always had greed. They exploited us, but in some ways helped us too at the cost of that exploitation.
The ideal ruler only exists in our holy books, like Shri Ram. Even Arjun when on a rampage to get Shri Krishna's sister nd Shri Krishn himself allowed that. We can't take that for good, not atleast in today's time.
Just adopt nd preach nd follow the good from everywhere, for one aim.. Humanity.

There was no concept of today's religion in those days.. It was basically like following the principles that best suited the times.
Even successors of Ashoka followed Jainism, and later some followed Sanatana dharma(Hinduism) too...
Basically as the religion was not a concept up until India was invaded by Persians... India was very open to different kinds of principles and were followed on their suitability with the society of that period.

Buddha was born in Nepal but got enlightened in Magadh, the state of Ashoka! It also was a great educational center where ancient astronomy, astrology and many other topics were taught. And the invent of "0" happened there too along with many many other advancements. But the place is in shackles now.

Did I just hear the video say he was a terrible terrible man?? He was one of the most efficient ruler of India. Infact his wife was a big supporter of Buddhism and so was his brother. His inclination to Buddhism simply didn’t happen seeing kalinga war. He treated the Buddhist leaders who came to his kingdom with at most respect and gave them lands to establish their religion just as he was respectful towards all religions. His hesitation to marry her wasn’t because of caste but because his ministers wanted him to marry a princes for the good of the kingdom. I have never heard anyone call king Ashoka , Ashoka the terrible. But when Kalinga war happened and he saw a mother with a child who gave him a piece of her mind saying the war was terrible. Jeez this is the most under researched video I have seen. He was called Ashoka the great not Ashoka the terrible. During his reign education, economy etc flourished. He was the most successful ruler after chadragupta Maurya in that dynasty.

Before the British we had the Varna system, which classifies people based on the WORK they do. Teachers and spirituals were called brahmins, protectors were called Kshatriyas, traders were called Vaishyas and others but not less significant being shudras etc. It is very much possible to jump from one varna to other, based on the interests of the individual. For e.g. Ravana the main villain in Ramayana was supposed to be a brahmin but he turned out to be kshatriya and a rakshasa, Valmiki the author of Ramayana was from a Shudra varna, but turned into a Brahmin and wrote the Ramayana. Sage Vishwamitra was a kshatriya but transformed into a brahmana, and pursued spiritual life. And many more such examples.. British introduced the caste system, and `highlighted' the differences among people based on their colour and practices, to divide the people.

There was a cast system available in the entire Indian Subcontinent. However, more than religion, this cast system was based on the type of work you choose to do for living,
There were mainly 4 types of work cast.
    1. Brahman represents upper intellectual jobs that include a high level of intelligence or knowledge. Considering current time, it's more like management jobs or more in science and technology along with religious practices.
    Known as job of creator.
(I can debate on religious practice considering in this particular type)
Example teachers, scientists, engineers, doctors, etc.
    2. Kshatriya represents the job related to army or patriotism. Known as a job of protectors or destroyers.
Example - King and army, fighters and warriors, etc.
    3. Vaishya represents the job that provides entertainment to people or society.
Example - theater actors, circuses, tournament organizations, prostitution, etc.
    4. Shudra represents the most important job as cleaning up the kingdom or state or town or village. Job like labors, cleaners, slaves, etc.
When Britain came to India, they did translation of many scripture, which, psychologically wrong, which later got imposed and released publicly having described in detail cast system based on religiously. Intentionally or unintentionally, it does impact very badly on Indian culture, and ever since Indian people started fighting based on this wrong education socially. Now, there were many people in India at that time who I consider guilty upon their silence or trying get personal benefit out of it.
There are so many points that I can debate on, and I do know Jainism very closely along with Buddhism as a matter of personal beliefs, so I know the particular history since I was a child.
    Thanks.

And he is one of the greatest warrior and king of the world, he left his throne...... Because he killed too much people in kalinga battle and after wins he found he only won people dead body and he also found his lover was queen of kalinga so he realize he shouldn't attack there. He found himself guilty. then. he dicided to return their kingdom...... Caste system (initially in the form of Varna system) is at least 2600 year old and have been being followed rigidly for at least 1700 years.

Everything that exists within Buddhism has existed and still exists in Hinduism(core is Dharma, coated with numerous philosophies to choose from). But at that time many sects were created that emphasized some Hindu practices while rejecting others.(Jains, carvakas, etc including atheistic & nihilistic, hedonistic sects were permitted under the umbrella) They would have assemblies discussing the reasons for choosing such and such practices and the party that was convinced of the other's arguments usually would "convert"(more like adopting) to that particular set of philosophies. The biggest difference between Hindus at the time and Buddhists was the former's emphasis on rituals and the latter's emphasis on renunciation!(Later Buddhists would slowly but steadily readopt a lot of rituals & become less austere) However some of them became more exclusivist as they became popular, hence the conflicts that arose. The fact that Buddhists and Jains still exists in India after 2600years + and shared temples & deities in south-east asia is proof that they never really were at odds.

Back in the days it wasn't even Hinduism it was Sanatan Dharma and it was very lenient and open minded religion unlike what Hinduism has become today.
Buddha DID NOT follow any religion before he achieved Enlightenment. After getting enlightened he faught against the Brahmins who were making up crazy rules about castes and things.. Buddha promoted equality and universal brotherhood where everyone in this world is like a one big family. Buddhism is NOT a branch of Hinduism. Hinduism came after much much later after Buddha's time. Hinduism was promoted by Brahmins and they made up stories to unify the different local religions and completely changed the original Sanatan Dharma and made it religion full of toxic rules, superstitions and discrimination against different classes

Originally... i.e, Varna Vyavastha ( "Caste" word was later on given by British which has roots in spanish word "Casta". It became Caste System) was formed eons ago (might be 25000 years back) it was skill based. But we see the seeds of a birth based caste system in a minor way in Ramayana and in a severe way in Mahabharata (The events in which the stories are based around 10000 to 5500 BCE). Until Buddha came (around 5000 years later) the caste system had been severely corrupted from a skill based caste system to a birth based one, with instances of untouchability also coming. Buddha himself spoke against birth based Caste System. Ashoka came around 270 BCE and spread Buddhism.
Also Hinduism wasn't a religion back then. Hiduism was seperate sects, Vaishnavites(Vishnu Worshippers), Shaivites(Shiva Worshippers), etc. These all were united by Shankaracharya later on and then something of what we call as Hinduism was formed. It's called Sanatan Dharma.
Later on with the coming of Mughals and Britishers later on, Hinduism was further postulated. Caste system, just like Indians, was severely misunderstood, enforced and propogated on the Indian people re-enforcing the injustices by Indians on Indians, meanwhile Britishers did their "Stealing".
Fun fact, the word "Hindu" comes from Persians. It originally meant "People living around the river Sindhu River(Indus River)". The Persians couldn't pronounce the "S" in Sindhu, so they pronounced it as Hindu.
Shahrukh Khan has made a film on Ashoka. Apart from the singing and dancing, the film was fine. Gives an outline. But for more info, just read.
    Cheers.

Very good and thoughtful questions from Jaby, I love how you try and understand and make sense of what's being shown on the screen, and asking questions pertaining to the topic.
For example you asked why would Ashoka follow Buddhism since it came out of Hinduism, the answer to that is Hinduism isn't a religion, au contraire religion is part of Hinduism and just a small one. Hinduism is a combination of various thoughts, philosophy it's not a belief system. You could be an atheist and still be a Hindu for example the Charvaka school of thought puts importance to materialism, similarly there's Jainism, Sikhism and of course Buddhism they're all Dharmic traditions. In modern times they're looked upon as separate religions but they are just different arms of Sanatan Dharma the correct term for Hinduism. Sanatan meaning eternal and Dharma can mean a lot of different things according to the context it's being used like Law, righteousness, duty.
Hope this gave you guys a little bit of clarity, it's a vast subject very fascinating to study.

Earlier caste system was fluid as a person can move up a caste.
There are 4 main castes in descending order of their importance:
Brahmins: The priests, they were teachers, gurus, the one responsible for imparting knowledge to others and they also served as ministers in kings courts to guide them through any situation. They were researchers, mathematicians, philosophers and also were the ones who taught fighting skills.
Kshatriyas: Warrior class, Kings, soldiers, they were responsible for maintaining law and order, protection of people
Vaishyas: Merchant class which were mainly involved with trades and businesses
Shudras: Worker class mostly worked for Vashiyas and other castes, like labour.
Earlier one could move up a class by learning the skills of that class. A Kshatriya can be considered a Bhramin if he learns Sanskrit and the vedas and many other skills involved. Please also note that once you moved up a class your children will also be considered in that class wether they learn those skills or not. The only hinderence was that one could only move one class up. If a Shudra learns the skills of a trade and amasses wealth and is considered an expert in that trade they can be considered a Vashiyas but he can never be considered a Kshatriyas even if they learns Kshatriyas skills, but their children will be considered Vashiyas from then on. Now they can try and move up a class and become a Kshatriya. Please do consider it was rare that one would move up so easily as skills are easily imparted in the family then outside the family, then again, gaining a skill is one thing and proving your skills was another, so it was really difficult.
Earlier one would also marry in a caste directly above and below them easily as many kings would marry to a Brahmin girl and/or Vashiya girl as well or a Brahmin may marry a Kshatriya girl. But rarely they would go beyond two classes.
But after ‘Manusmriti’ the one believed to be the first ancient legal text in Hinduism many things changed… it made it very clear that one should marry in their own caste. Not only caste but they even went down to sub-caste.
Now what is a sub-caste? Consider this, a Goldsmith and Blacksmith were both Vashiyas, Merchant class but a Goldsmith would always be considered above a Blacksmith, so this created lots of sub-castes to be divided people even further.
Old Britishers didn’t made any such things happen, what they did was far worse, they used this division to their advantage, providing powerful positions under them to certain castes(like Bhramins and Kshatriyas) as other castes wouldn’t dare oppose them creating a rift between locals even further. It was the realisation of such tactics that brought Indians together. But the scars of those tactics of divide and conquer still remains deepining in some areas even further.

Although at the beginning, during the period of 1500-1000 Bce roughly it wasn't based on birth but occupation...in the later vedic period after 900 bce, it became rigid i.e based on birth...Asoka came around 225 bce and at that time caste system was a big thing in Indian society. It is also noticable that around 599-545 BCE buddhism was at it's peak and it's one of the prime region was disowning the caste taboo

When you see the end quote, you could pretty much understand the narrative and propaganda from where he/she had gathered his sources. Of all the things mentioned, few are correct and most are just propaganda.
    1. He did killed his brothers, as a matter of fact he killed more than 90 people and thrown all of them in a well of fire or Ashoka's hell (known as Agamkuan, here in Patna,Bihar) - of which many were his brothers to get his throne.
FYI, there is a tradition here as brahmin pandit advises since that time to not take Gangajal from Ghats from Patna side as the bloods poured from that well to river Ganga, so most people to get Gangajal go onto the middle part of the river.
    2. Blindly omitted, Chanakya's role in training him from the tender age just like he did with his grandfather.
    3. He seems cruel at first, but he was fighting with the whole administration since the very tender age to get his mother her rights as the wife of Bindusara, to which all his relatives mocked about and always plotted to kill him and his mother, but he and his mother survived and later avenged and killed them all to get his throne.
    3. It's true he had a bloodlust, as he was constantly fighting against ploys against his life, all through his life. Even after becoming the king, he killed whenever he felt necessary to stable his government and maintain peace throughout his kingdom though it was not easy to controland considering the time it was far more tough, which was stretched in west to present day Afghanistan and to Bangladesh in east and that's how he ruled for more than 35 years and no one dared to touch his territory.
Sometimes, to be a great leader one have to face the hard truth and take harsh decisions. And, he did took those harsh decisions. That's just the leadership part why he is considered great.
To the religious part we all know of, Buddhism as we know today, had mostly flourished in the World because of him and the efforts he took. And, that's the religious part of him being considered great.
It's so fascinating that two polar opposites personality were of a single person. And, that is why, he is considered Ashoka the Great.
Remember, Before Chatrapati Shivaji, before Maharaja Ranjit Singh, before Maharana Pratap, before Prithvi Raj Chauhan and numerous others. There was a king in ancient India to whom foreigners and the internal turbulent feared and dared not to question.
    His name was Samrat Ashoka.

As one of the study’s authors told the Times of India, “the present-day structure of the caste system came into being only relatively recently in Indian history.”

There is a difference between caste system and varna system. Caste system is the distorted form of varna system in which british played an important role. In varna system you can move around in different categories. Because varna just help you to distinguish you based on the work which you do and your varna will change as your work changes. Hence you can marry intervarna also which you can see an example of it . Ashok was born in 304 BC. but in 2nd Century BC the movement of intervarna was stopped by Manusmriti which made the system rigid that was just beginning of rigidity of this varna system. British used it in multiple ways and form and gave a name caste system based on their idea of racism as caste word is derived from latin which means race.

The fact is simple, if you look at the Nationalist Historians they will try to claim that Caste system had no problems before the British whereas if you look at what the West and Leftist Historians have to say, the they will tell you that Caste system was always there, it became regressive much earlier than British but perhaps made way worse by the British.
It is something where subjectivity is present because this can't just be easily analyzed by the records and hence different narrative of different people.
Lastly, this entire video is all about the fact that some Historians over glorify Ashoka(as can be said for any Monarch because all had big issues) and hence is decoding his negative side.
But if I were to give an opinion, as a very normal level student of Indian History preparing for Civil Services, I would say that many facts in the video were Correct about how the Ashokas retribution narrative might be a Politically motivated fabrication BUT you must have noticed, that whenever there was a subjective thing to claim, the person in the video always took the negative side of Ashoka, this is very typical of The Western Historians, trying to undermine any achievements by the East, especially Indian achievements. Also the only Indian Historian he quoted was Romila Thapar is infamous to be very Leftist and is generally acquainted also with undermining the Indian achievements.

caste system(originally known as the varna system or work-classification-organization system) was interchangeable and it was based on work, skills, social stature(class). After the destruction of major university like taxila and nalanda university by Islamic invaders, which resulted in, education and skills were passed from generation to generation, father to son and mother to daughter. Hard copies of ancient texts/scriptures/information were destroyed because of being killed as infiedel by scholars and knowledge was then passed orally(which often resulted in mistakes and promotion of unintended consequences of morality), thus in later Islamic rule of India then emerged a rigid system in which flow of information by controlled by few like Brhamins and rich. later during Islamic sultante & British raj it was enforced rigid.

Answer to this is, since he belonged to the lower caste from his mother side, no upper cast one wanted to let others know how can a lower cast person rule such a vast empire and be feared by his enemies but equally loved by his disciple. So they devoted a lot of time to distort the history books but couldn't distort and control the feeling's and emotions of people who through generations after generations told their own versions of how great and powerful ruler was he. Indian Government knows that too and cannot ignore his legacy that's why they use his symbols.
    Think about it @Jaby.

Varna system (very much similar to Economic + Professional class of the modern times)
    Vs
Caste system (a Portuguese system imposed upon Hindus because the Brits thought these were the same thing)
The biggest difference is: The Varna system is not rigid, assigned based upon your talents and not at the time of your birth. Basically like how the sorting hat would sort you among houses of Hogwarts. However,
    1. because it was more common for the son of a Potter to grow into his family business than leave his village of potters (mostly comprising of his own extended family households) and become a Weaver instead (without the benefit of a formal training institution - which was mostly the family back in those days), the crafts were mostly passed on through generations.
    2. There were rules in place for different varnas. For example, Brahmins (the teachers, scribes, researchers and priests) were mandated to live a satvik life i.e, a life of great austerity, discipline and rigour. They were not allowed to save any money and could only earn their livelihood through alms and begging. Punishment for crimes were 16 times as harsh on Brahmins as on the Shudras (manual labourer class).
    3. There are countless examples though of people cutting across the varna (class) of their parents and rising/falling in the varna order. Sorta like a person from the middle class today breaking across the class lines and becoming a rich industrialist. But everybody wasn't doing that because there was no job market like it exists today where you could apply and be accepted. It needed a lot of hardwork and self training.
Edit: The European caste system imposed on India was rigid and regressive. It is assigned at birth. Eg. Yadavas were Kshatriyas (warriors/Administrators) at one place and Cowherds (Shudras) at another. However, the British unilaterally assigned a 'low caste' on all Yadavas in India.

The word caste comes from the Spanish word Casta(came in with the Spanish and Portuguese invasion, its recent history), which basically translates to lineage and it wrongly describes the "Varna" system now known as the caste system that existed in India. Varna doesn't mean lineage, varna roughly translates to sections. Also there was no such section/varna called the untouchables or lower caste. There was Bhramin(their job was to study, hence they were respected), Kshatriya(they were warriors, hence respected) Vaishyas(businessmen, hence not so respected but valuable) just like Teachers are respected the most, then comes the soldiers and the businessmen, very similar to the modern-day society, the last but not the least were the Shudras, it is written in the Vedas that all humans are born as Shudras but they are reborn when they enter a Verna, so Shudra is a single birth verna and the rest of the Vernas are considered as dwich/two birth vernas. This is the reason Shudras were not so highly respected coz they were not able to enter a varna or gain a speciality they had to do the odd jobs but they were never considered achoot or untouchables. The word achoot or untouchable was first used in a relatively modern scripture which is Dharmashastra and it is used for people who had committed heinous crimes or murders, they were labelled as achoot/untouchables so that they have to go through a life of humiliation(they were not just killed off, in fact, mrityudand or death sentence was very rare in Hindu society). There is much more to Varna system and Hindu society that people don't understand and a ton of misinterpretation happen all the time. Even I didn't understand a thing until I decided to learn Sanskrit and read the Vedas myself, now I feel I have started scratching the surface.

haha hello again, commenting for 7:54, Ashoka basically wanted to be the ruler of everything (just like every other ruler in history who just wanted to conquer everything in their path of life). Ashoka decided to walk on the path of Hinduism(a way to life ones life) after realizing that the the path he has been following all this while actually did nothing but it just satisfied his greed. ones he realized he left all of it and went ahead to follow a life which would attain him true peace in life.

Ashoka had became ruthless just for a short period of time because of murder of his mentor ,mother and many losses and problems because of his enemies. He was a kind soul though. He was also grew up with commoners,he understood them. That was one of the reason why chanakya choose him to turn into the new ruler, like his grandfather chandra gupt.I am from odisha which was previously known as 'UTKALA'.While his journey of conquering he came to utkal ,they fought and in the end ashoka could not believe how much bloodshed he caused. He regreted it ,so he changed from chandashoka to dharmashoka.

The best person to consider a true son of Mother India is Chandragupta Maurya. What a personality man, what a damn good personality. Megasthenes sang high praises of him, so much that his contemporaries thought he was lying. He wrote a book Indica in which he said the emperor was a highly conscientious man and hardly slept for 4 hours. He was doing work all day and night. He starved himself to death because he failed to stop famine in his empire and due to which many people were hungry and many died of hunger. How can an emperor like that cannot be praised.

Buddhism was not a religion but an idea or some new rules at that time..so it was not like that ashoka got converted to Buddhism but actually he adopted the Buddhist principal along with his existing hindu/ sanatan faith..he was a great devotee of lord shiva

There was no caste system but there was varna system back then. Both are different. Varna system is based on personality traits of an individual. Caste system is based on the profession of an individual. There are mainly 4 varnas but there are countless castes in India.
Caste system came at a very later stage of Indian history. British promoted it by using policies like communal rewards, separate communal electorate, even separate religious electorate to deepen the Hindu-Muslim divide.

Cast system was introduced in veda but it was much flexible... In manusmriti it made hard rule in cast system and which carried on with british rule.... Cast system was only developed for distinguish in quality and his dharma... Not for helping a certain cast.

About your doubt regarding Hinduism and Buddhism, I'd like to explain it briefly about it.. Hinduism is based on multiple different values a person should acquire to live this life but a few of them are the root of Hinduism which have been mentioned in Bhagwad Geeta too by Krishna.. According to Sanatan Dharma which is the actual term for Hinduism, in order to get Moksha, you are supposed to detach yourself from humanly emotions and shouldn't get swayed by them, but also while living your human life and relationships.. Which makes Hinduism a little harder if you want to attain Moksha, but that's what Krishna said that you are supposed to carry out your Karma.. If all the positive and intelligent people start becoming a "Sanyasi (Monk)", then the negative people would be the ones who would start running the world.. This is where Buddhism comes in the picture, they chose the easier path towards Moksha, Buddhism says to abandon all your human emotions and to become a monk, which makes Buddhism more focused towards the goal of Moksha and as a result people become more kinder but it breaks you away from the Karma you are supposed to do.. If everyone starts leaving their partner like Buddha did, that wouldn't be fair, would it? So According to Krishna, if you are living in a physical body, you have to look at the bigger picture and perform your Karma(Dharma), such as maintaining relationships, loving and getting married, having children, teaching them the correct values, earning, doing good for all "life" in general, you are supposed to do all of this while keeping yourself detached from the humanly emotions.. And then at the end of it, then you can attain the "Sanyasi (Monk)" life..
So Ashoka most probably chose Buddhism as it is more focused on kindness, whereas Hinduism focuses more on the bigger picture..
I hope that I explained well for all the people reading to be able to understand properly 😊

The caste system is a western concept, In ancient India and in Vedic texts what we had was Varna System which wasn;t decided by birth but on profession but it was very flexible, A person who worked as Sudra could go on to become kshatriya to legitimise this people used to form matrimonial alliance for ex Chandragupta 1 of Gupta dynasty Married Kumardevi a 'Licchavi'(Most probably descendents of siddhartha Gautam i.e. Buddha). As the time progressed there was various Interpretations of varna system and it started being decided on Birth where Varna Became Jati(i.e. Caste and various subcastes of Jatis). With the advent of British things were even made worse they acted as fuel to the fire the caste system was made even more rigid.
Now Buddha was inspired by Upanishads and rejected that Vedas are infallible. It is more of a philosophy where it is beleived that Human body is made up of 4 composite matters Prithvi(I.e Earth or Soil), Vayu(I.e Air),Tej(i.e glow; splendour, brilliance, refulgence), Aap(Fire) divided in 5 components they are 1) Rupa(i.e Form and Matter), 2) Vedna(i.e. Feelings and Sensation),3) Samna(i.e Perception amd Understanding), 4) Smkhara(i.e Disposition & Wil),5)Vinna(i.e Consciousness).
