- Every 4th of July Glendora Mountain Road is closed and cyclists get to enjoy a car free road ride. This year we rode from the gate to Baldy village, hung out with friends, and met some new ones.

Hi Gemma , I was there for the 4th climb as well, started at 6am, climb up for 2 miles and I get first flat, fix flat and 10 mins later boom another flat lol. Ran out of tubes and C02 so I just turned around and went home, some days are just so mean I guess. Your videos are getting more awesome, aerial shots, music, commentaries everything just flows. Keep up the great work guys~

@@lifesagem Thank you for the reply, after I fixed my second flat I decided that it was not my day and decend down back to glendora high parking lot :( I was really bummed because I had plan to climb all the way to the ski lift, at least I got couple hundred feet of elevation lol. Safe riding~

Hi, Gemma! I've been following you on Strava since before you became Mrs. Bauchmann. I admire how difficult and long your rides are. I came across your channel when looking for Palomar mountain cycling videos.
I saw both you and your husband were you saying a rim brake bike with shallow aluminum wheels or climbing Mount Palomar. Do you think those are better/safer especially on steep climbs like that? And why did you guys switch to deeper carbon/disk brake wheels?
Now instead of only seeing your travel right I'll be also enjoying them on RUclips.
By the way, I'm from San Diego...
Hey there, thanks for following our journey! We didn't switch, we have always ridden disc/carbon wheels but only on our gravel bikes. I still have rim brake wheels on two of my road bikes and Joe does as well. We love rim brakes for road rides. The only difference is that they are now carbon rim brake wheels to save up on a bit of weight :)
