A lot of Ronald’s choices and behavior in the following books/films are influenced by what we see as his deepest desires in the Mirror. It’s not just being head boy or being good at sports- as a middle child in a big family of mostly all boys his greatest fear is not measuring up to his brothers, all of whom he looks up to. His desires seem superficial, but at the root of it all he just wants to bring pride to his family & also stand out in some way on his own.
That's what I was thinking watching the scene, was going through the comments to see if someone had pointed it out. I think the movies don't give Ron enough credit sometimes, it may seem like Harry is the brave one, Hermione is the smart one and Ron just appears to be the comic relief, but his role in the trio is really so much more important than that and his character can appear superficial and one-dimensional, so I'm glad you put the depth behind it into words so nicely for this scene
@@n.q1158 The screenwriter totally did Ron dirty and gave most of his best stuff to Hermione turning Ron mostly into comic relief, Whereas, from what I'm told, in the books Ron was the streetwise one who guided Harry and Hermione through the ins and outs of the wizarding world as they had no experience with it having lived their whole lives in the muggle world. Ron's part should have been as the streetwise one instead of being relegated to comic relief. This is fixed somewhat in the later movies but in the early ones it's glaringly apparent.
@@ronweber1402 Yeah, people forget of the Trio that Ron is the only one who actually lived in the Wizarding World. The Trio in the books were way more balanced and crucial to each other than the movies who just made Hermione win everything. It's honestly kinda BS.
@ronweber1402 Yeah in the movies, it makes it seem as Hermione is intimately familiar with the wizarding world and knows far more about it than Ron, which always struck me as bizarre
I binged the books and movies in my early 20s because I was never allowed to as a kid (religious family), but when I finally did I was blown away. 46:35 Ron's reflection in the Mirror of Erised (has anyone mentioned you should flip the name yet?) isn't as superficial as you make it sound here - it's not only about ambition. He's the youngest son (Ginny's the youngest child) in a family of a LOT of sons, all of whom are quite successful in different ways. Ron feels a lot of pressure to live up to the expectations of his family - he was even stressing about not getting into Gryffindor at the Sorting Ceremony because every other member of his family has been a Gryffindor, including his parents.
I get where you're coming from, and i agree. But when you compare it to Harry's desire, it's still superficial. Cause even though it's a big deal for him as a kid, he'll learn eventually that's not what really matters.
@@beej13It’s not superficial. Not even compared to Harry’s. It’s not a competition. Rons feelings, no matter the reasons, are just as valid as Harry’s.
@@RJMiller73 i do think they're valid, but i don't think they're as important as Harry's. Harry will always miss his parents and wish he could have known them. @@beej13 obviously compared to Harry’s it’s superficial, but what they’re saying is that it isn’t as superficial as they think it is. They weren’t comparing it to Harry it’s just that it’s bigger than what’s shown
The funny thing about the Devil's Snare is I'm pretty sure _Ron_ was the one who realised what it was. Hermione realised they needed light/fire to get rid of it, but she was thinking "where are we going to get wood?" And Ron was like, "aren't you a witch or what?" 😂

Hot butterbeer is my favourite Holiday drink since I first made it, just a few years ago. Tastes like nothing else I've ever tasted. A hot carbon drink. 😋 I only adjusted it a wee bit so I can make it here in Sweden. I haven't been able to find cream soda since the first time I made one. Crazy thing is, I figured out how Hermione knows all this magic stuff literally like the back of her hand, and it's not JUST an eidetic (photographic) memory--which I'm sure she has, also. But, if you were to look up her birthday compared to Harry and Ron, she's literally almost a whole year older than them! She was born on September 19, 1979. Harry was born on July 31, 1980, and Ron was born on March 1, 1980. She was supposed to go to Hogwarts a year earlier than them, but since the kids don't get their Hogwarts letters until their eleventh birthday, and hers was after September 1st, the first day of school, she had to wait to go the next year--school policy, you know. So, even though she didn't go until 1991, instead of 1990, she still got her supplies, wand, and stuff the year before and read every single one of her books over and over, plus practicing with the wand movements, but not casting any magic (against the rules outside of school). And, of course, she gets everything right, even the practical stuff. Because, she's just that good. Also, the Sorting Hat almost put her into Ravenclaw, just like it wanted to put Harry into Slytherin. But, she got convinced that Gryffindor was the best House and that influenced her subconsciousness that the Hat reads in your mind.
Ron wants to be equal to or better than his 5 older, accomplished and/ or popular brothers who have overshadowed him his entire life. 3 were prefects (Bill, Charlie & Percy), 1 was head boy (Bill), 1 was Quidditch Captain (Charlie) Fred & George are Quidditch players, very popular and funny. Ginny is the baby and the only girl. Ron just feels like he's not as good as the rest of his siblings but he still usually has a sunny, easy going personality and his loyalty is never in question.
The weight Potters name holds really sets the ton of these movies he’s the boy who lived and walked away with only a scar it’s crazy to see people at the school knows more about Harry than Harry ❤such a great series
hooray! I'm excited for your journey through this series, Bryce; it's so good! just a clarification: there is no "bad house". all of the houses have and can produce dark wizards, it's just that statistically, Slytherin has produced the most dark wizards out of all the houses. this is most likely due to their what they value most: ambition and cunning. fyi, here is a breakdown of all the houses and what they mean: (your house is not about who you are but what you value most) Gryffindor: you value honor and bravery Hufflepuff: you value loyalty and hard work Ravenclaw: you value intelligence and wisdom Slytherin: you value ambition and resourcefulness p.s. proud Gryffindor here ❤
Cant wait for you guys to start getting into movies 3-8, its where things really pick up in characters and overall plot. Can’t believe Bryce is watching this for the first time; what i would pay to experience Harry Potter for the first time again omg. Also yeah I’m a sytherin and a lot of the qualities of being a slytherin are not outwardly bad but if mixed with choosing to be evil, you could easily become a “villain” not all slytherins are bad, all bad are Slytherins. Kinda like the whole rectangles are squares but squares aren’t rectangles thing lol. Slytherins are full of both good and bad personality traits that make them whats known to be a slytherin personality type: ambitious, resourceful, determination, cleverness, quick witted, intelligent, problem solvers, loyal, confident, as well as being able to be manipulative, cunning, rule breaking, private, intimidating, competitive, leader types, malicious, prideful. Think in terms of Marvel Loki, Wanda, Black widow, Fury, Valkyrie, Thanos, Gamora, Ultron. while Gryffindor is more captain America, T’challa, Thor, war machine, Captain marvel. Ravenclaw would be like Tony Stark, Rocket, Strange, Banner, Starlord, nebula. Hufflepuff is like Spiderman, Ant man, groot, mantis, drax, Vision, Wong. I definitely would say Bryce: Ravenclaw, Zaff: Hufflepuff (that man is straight up hufflepuff no way he’s not lol) and Rob is obviously repping for Slytherin House💙💛💚
great explanation, though I wouldn't say "all bad are Slytherin" just because there are definitely bad people in the HP universe who are bad. take, for instance, Quirrel who is a Ravenclaw and a servant of Voldemort. ❤
@@the_nikster1 not to mention while i believe this is more side knowledge than Important Plot Knowledge, MERLIN in the HP Universe was a Slytherin and he was by no means evil
Related to the comment about the music: The music was composed by the living legend himself, John Williams- the man responsible for the music for Star Wars, Jaws, ET, Hook, etc. lol… He definitely knows how to make an audience feel. No one does it quite like John Williams. When we lose him, it’s going to be a sad day. Steven Spielberg said it best. "Without John Williams, bikes don't fly, nor do brooms in Quidditch matches, nor do men in red capes. There is no Force. Dinosaurs do not walk the earth. We do not wonder, we do not weep, we do not believe."
please watch them all, the harry potter series is so good the fourth and last movies are the best. there are so many twists and a lot of things you wouldn’t expect but make so much sense in the end, it’s just so good so nostalgic.
the fourth movie is prob the worst of all the harry potter movies. It basically doesnt even follow the book at all pretty much and just makes up so much shit that just didnt happen ever. also cuts huge parts of the story like all the stuff with Dobby
I promise not all Slytherins are evil 😭😂 unfortunately a stigma has been placed on Slytherin as a whole because of how they’re portrayed in the movies, some traits of Slytherins are ambition, resourcefulness, determination, and cleverness. :)
Both of hermionie’s parents are muggles and she still got into hogwarts. Also both of filch’s parents were magical and he didn’t get powers making him what is called a “squib”.
I'm so happy that you're doing this movie series coz I'm a huge Potterhead! You're gonna enjoy Bryce! Plus, Christmas season = Harry Potter marathon so its a great timing!!! Thank you and Merry Christmas to yall ♡ Stay safe always!
Hermione’s parents are both muggles. I think it’s more like an innate magical thing that some kids have. A kid of muggles can be magical, a kid of wizards can have no magical capabilities (this last one is called squib and filch is one)
The reason Ron was on the horse is because they filmed the actual chess game several months after filming the entrance into the room. In the meantime, Rupert Grint had undergone a growth spurt, so the director put him on the horse to make the disparity in height less obvious.
If you enjoyed the books Rob, highly recommend Tom Felton’s new book. It’s about more than his time playing Draco but has some fun behind the scenes moments of filming the movies. The audiobook is so good, he narrates it.
Just wanna say Ron is the best, and I say it preemptively because I know this movies made him the comedic relief and sometimes paint him like he's not very smart or that he'spretty superficial. That's not the case, however. Much of his smart lines are given to Hermione and much of his character arc isn't told in the movies, but he's thr source of all the magic world knowledge for the trio and has a very complex family dynamic. Just wanna give him some love if you're going to keep watching the films.
Yea!! I’m so excited about you guys doing HP. SN: in the book, Dursley escape from the letters intensified. They left the house and drove far away, stayed at a hotel, got letters at every stop, till it escalated and he agreed to rent the lighthouse from some stranger person they met lol
I grew up with Harry Potter and I rewatch it every year! Binge read all the books too! Also I agree with Zuff about how the music is the best. I quote the movies almost daily to the point it’s embarrassing 😂 I’m so pumped for you all to watch all the movies😊 favorite Harry Potter movie is Prisoner of Azkaban!
There are 6 Weasley brothers and Ginny. Bill, Charlie, Percy, George, Fred, Ron and Ginny. They mentioned Charlie very briefly, Percy disappeared after the first two movies even though he had a part in the books, and Bill randomly showed up in Order of the Phoenix movie even though he had a bit more of a party to play in the books.
Love y’all! Ignore the haters and extreme fans who over explain- I’m glad y’all enjoyed it and hope you’re doing great! Also “by the skin of your taint” is the single greatest expression I’ve never heard. 😂
Please read the books . My kids were young readers when the books came out and I remember going to borders when the books came out to wait to get the book at midnight celebrating with loads of Harry Potter fans . I am a gen x and I adore this series . The deathly hallows was my favorite
I definitely have to agree with Rob, Zuff gives me Hufflepuff vibes. From what I've seen, Bryce gives Gryffindor vibes and I think Rob would be a Slytherin
It’s so crazy the the actors filmed the first film around the age of 10-13, and then they finished filming the last one in the early twenties, I think Daniel Radcliffe is 24 in the last one
These just get better and better as you go! Obviously the first one is introductory into the world but still entertaining! I guarantee by the end you’ll be fully invested and glad you did it! I’m subscribing for sure since you intend to watch these! Can’t wait !

@@Xrated_YT THIS! I hate Percy so much lol he's worse in the books too
Hufflepuff here 💛
It is always nice to meet people who knows about potter puppets sketches!!!!
I honestly can't get enough of people reacting to the Harry Potter series!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Yes definitely watch the whole series I love seeing new people react to it!!
They always recognize harry because he looks just like he’s father and his eyes are from his mother.
And his scar is legendary.
Except he doesn’t even have her eyes in the movies 😩😩😩 (yes imma die salty about it!!!)
"when i knew quarrel would show soon and in the back of my head..."-rob.... such a good pun to acknowledge.
‘I would stand over your bed’ ‘I lock my door’ 😂😂
“I’ve never been to that planet” Zuff 😂 (took me by surprise literal snot came out 😅)
Related to the comment about the music: The music was composed by the living legend himself, John Williams- the man responsible for the music for Star Wars, Jaws, ET, Hook, etc. lol… He definitely knows how to make an audience feel.
It basically doesnt even follow the book at all pretty much and just makes up so much shit that just didnt happen ever. also cuts huge parts of the story like all the stuff with Dobby
when Ron said "wicked" Robert had the exact same facial expresseion :D
Just here rewatching all these harry potter reactions :D don't mind me
I promise not all Slytherins are evil 😭😂 unfortunately a stigma has been placed on Slytherin as a whole because of how they’re portrayed in the movies, some traits of Slytherins are ambition, resourcefulness, determination, and cleverness. :)
omg absolutely yasss!!! Harry Potter is legitimately my favorite thing on the planet. could watch it whenever wherever ❤❤❤
Both of hermionie’s parents are muggles and she still got into hogwarts. Also both of filch’s parents were magical and he didn’t get powers making him what is called a “squib”.
Awe yay, this is gonna be fun!
Im 22, and I saw Harry Potter for the first time just a couple months ago and really enjoyed it.
I'm so happy that you're doing this movie series coz I'm a huge Potterhead! You're gonna enjoy Bryce! Plus, Christmas season = Harry Potter marathon so its a great timing!!! Thank you and Merry Christmas to yall ♡ Stay safe always!
Not only do the movies get better, but they get darker as they go on. I cant wait for your reactions to the other movies👍
This made my night! Gotta have Bryce react to the whole series!
Hermione’s parents are both muggles. I think it’s more like an innate magical thing that some kids have. A kid of muggles can be magical, a kid of wizards can have no magical capabilities (this last one is called squib and filch is one)
Alan helped design his costume. He was a genius in this role.
Dude on the left has the same exact ticks as me! My eyes twitch and my eyebrows are uncontrollable
"the skin of your taint"
"oliver tree must be related to him"
"mercury!" "i've never been to that planet"
zuff is too funny
Bruh. That taint line sent me, I laughed so hard, thank you 🙏🏼 this will be so fun! Can’t wait.
The reason Ron was on the horse is because they filmed the actual chess game several months after filming the entrance into the room. In the meantime, Rupert Grint had undergone a growth spurt, so the director put him on the horse to make the disparity in height less obvious.
Yes! Would love to see you all react to the rest of the series 😊
Did yall know that the mirror of Erised is just the word Desire backwards?
THIS IS WHAT IM WAITING FORRRRRR! PLEASE CONTINUE UNTIL PART 7. 😍😍😍
I grew up with Harry Potter and I rewatch it every year! Binge read all the books too! Also I agree with Zuff about how the music is the best. I quote the movies almost daily to the point it’s embarrassing 😂
I’m so pumped for you all to watch all the movies😊 favorite Harry Potter movie is Prisoner of Azkaban!
Yesss finally!!!
I dunno if you heard but Tom Felton (actor who played Draco) got sorted in the HP website and he was put in Gryffindor. 😂
Now that your HP reaction is complete, I'm going to start watching the series! Pretty excited to see your reactions!
The polar bear sweater 😍
Daniel was 11 when he started the films, and 21 when they finished.
ABSOLUTELY SO EXCITED FOR THIS REACTION SERIES
Nice to see how y'all's channel has grown so much.
Love y’all! Ignore the haters and extreme fans who over explain- I’m glad y’all enjoyed it and hope you’re doing great! Also “by the skin of your taint” is the single greatest expression I’ve never heard. 😂
I'm excited for this! The fact that it's new to Bryce is enough for me. And knowing Zuff loves it makes me excited to watch along together! ❤
Please read the books . My kids were young readers when the books came out and I remember going to borders when the books came out to wait to get the book at midnight celebrating with loads of Harry Potter fans . I am a gen x and I adore this series . The deathly hallows was my favorite
Bryce: What would you do with the invisibility cloak?
Rob: “Be invisible”..lmao😂😂😂
Zach quoting puppet pals got me cackling omg
I definitely have to agree with Rob, Zuff gives me Hufflepuff vibes. From what I've seen, Bryce gives Gryffindor vibes and I think Rob would be a Slytherin
You guys look like what James, Sirius and Lupin were in my head when I was reading the books
Harry saved the school and the entire world from Voldy:
Dumbledore: 🤲 60 points 🤲
We NEED a backstory on Bryce. What was your childhood? It obviously wasn't Harry Potter 😂
I’m sure I’ll be the same as rob when I rewatch this at one point. It’s been soooo long.
Ron, Ron, Ron Weasley... 😄 I got that reference at the start 👍😂
Bryce you gone totally love it i know……..am so excited for you 😍😍😍😍 and yey love you my all three favorite RUclipsrs
'Norbert' was the name of Natalie's boyfriend on the last 2 seasons of 'The Facts of Life'
I cant wait for the rest of them
“HP world at Disney”.. is a crazy sentence 😂
so keen for this series, love how noone spoils anything for Bryce so cool :)
It’s so crazy the the actors filmed the first film around the age of 10-13, and then they finished filming the last one in the early twenties, I think Daniel Radcliffe is 24 in the last one
IM SO EXCITED
These just get better and better as you go! Obviously the first one is introductory into the world but still entertaining! I guarantee by the end you’ll be fully invested and glad you did it! I’m subscribing for sure since you intend to watch these! Can’t wait !
“Harry Potter world” is at Universal my friend 😅
At the end when you said "just kidding" it reminded me of the end of zootopia when the police chief said it
Yay yay yay I got into your guys' channel with the Euphoria reactions and I'm SO happy you're doing Harry Potter! I'm strapped in for the whole journey!
The Weasley children are Bill, Percy, George, Fred, Ron and Ginny there are 6 of them. You will see Bill in the later movies but hear about him soon
Dang you found a guy who hasn't watched Harry Potter??? That's amazing! Such a rection treasure ;)
