We have a pack of 6 Dwarf puffers. They were raised with 3 large female peacock gudgeons and 6 male tiger endlers. The puffers could care less about the other fish. The Gudgeons even swim out between the pack of puffers to grab a live black worm and they don't care. The puffers chase each other all day long, but I've never once seen them even attempt to chase another fish.
Love this! When I had my Figure 8 Puffer, Norbert, my local Petsmart loved me. I'd come weekly to get all their pesty little pond snails and Norbert would have a feast. Seriously one of the most entertaining fish species!
I recently set up a pea puffers tank and dang, I've never had fish with so much personality. They're so cute and fun to watch.

I bought a baby pea puffer as a birthday gift to myself on Saturday 7/13/19 from Aquarium Co-op. Our office tank has a ton of snails, so next time I am in the the office I will take some home to Flurry. (S)he is super adorable.

Awesome video, I'm seriously thinking about starting up another 55 gallon tank. I had saddle back, green spotted and figure 8 puffers before and I pretty much was a noob to them. So they were mostly kept in freshwater. With me knowing more and learning from you and other helpful videos. I would like to try it but with brackish water. Is that pea pffuer tank brackish and what type of water filtration would you use if you would not be able to use the canister type?

Oh god, that floating plant looks like european water chestnut which I spent a summer fighting in some swamps as an invasive species technician, seeing it brought back some terrible memories. XD

I am breeding a snail colony for my pea puffers, but I was wondering, how do you ensure the snails have no parasites before feeding?
I have a tank with pea puffers, otocinclus, and cherry shrimp. They all get along fine and just swim around!
I too have 3 pea puffers in a tank with 20 + amanos, some neons and endler guppy‘s. The Peas are amazing at keeping the fry in check

I’ve had 3 pea puffers,occasionally they would “peck” at small snails..I even smashed a few for them..but mostly the snails were ignored. I tried feeding blood worms,live brine shrimp,frozen baby brine shrimp...the puffers were not interested and all eventually died..

I have baby pea puffers, I bought blood worm but when I melted the worm an put it in the tank it was way to big for the mouth of the puffer what can I feed them on?
What's the best way to clean large amount of empty pest snail shells after puffers eat them
Bought some plants for my betta tank, in a couple of months, had an explosion of pond snails and ramshorns. Tried to get rid of them only to miserably fail. After finding out that there are stores in my area that sell dwarf puffers, I've decided to keep the snails and let them breed, in hopes that I'll have a good food supply when I get one these cute little dudes.
I have a question though, is it recommended to crush the snails? or will the water become polluted faster because of that?
I noticed you mostly use HOB filters. Do you use canisters in any of your tanks? What’s the reasons you prefer some filters over others? Performance, price, etc?
What size ACs are you running? It amazes me how you keep up with such cool scapped tanks!

How many snails would you add at a time for a 'normal' lol person? I have one pea puffer in a 5 gal. Can I have more or is that all? I put in 2 snails but so far "puffy" is not interested.

I have a 5.5 gallon tank with one dwarf puffer and a few ghost shrimp. I am going out of town soon, and don't really have anyone to feed my puffer his daily dose of frozen brine shrimp or frozen bloodworms. Do you suggest putting a bunch of snails in the tank before I leave, or is there any other feeding you can recommend?
How long will you be out of town?
The Jeffrey 27 leaving on a Thursday morning, and I’ll be back late Monday night. So the puffer won’t be fed frozen for 3 days.
33greenleaf tbh he’ll be fine, I only feed mine once every few days or so, not feeding him for a couple days will be no issue as long as he’s healthy
The Jeffrey 27 thanks for replying. I do skip feeding days occasionally. Especially when his belly looks full from the previous days feeding. I have another 5.5 gallon tank that contains 100s of week to three week old Mystery and Pond snails. My plan is to have a never ending supply of snails for the puffer. I’ll feed him Thursday before I leave and add several snails too, and then feed him Monday when I get home

You could put a 3 inch full grown amazon puffer in a 20 gal and they get along with some other fish
