Henk became quiet and the others faces were priceless - they suddenly realized that Floor had raised the barr so sky-high that they were forced to sing better than ever. And they all did - that 2019 season will never be forgotten and that level never reached again. Floor did 10 extra shows after they finished the TV-show - together with Henk Port, and the orchestra from the TV-show, she won a music prize (building Bridge between the genres). All 10 extras were sold out in less than 24 hours, - and Nightwish have scheduled 1 extra Stadion concert (with Henk Port), also sold out in minutes. Floor was almost unknown in her home country before this show - but that became history after the first episode. Radio, TV - everybody went crazy. All the episodes are on YT - they are phenomenal - also Henk Port version of Sound of Silence, he performed to Floor, - incredible.

You are absolutely right. It’s intentianily subdued...Floor is one of the most powerful singers outthere...she could have easily belted the hell out of it...she didn’t and that what makes it so powerful...:)
If you want to hear an acoustic NW song with Floor I recommend "How's the Heart" from Planet Rock. In this show Floor and Henk Port performed Phantom of the Opera. Another power ballad from NW and Floor would be Dead Boy's Poem in Buenos Aires 2018.
The way Floor does it, it's so effortless. yes, she is keeping it 'small' not using her full belting and power. lady gaga , who is a good singer and performer, is really working harder to get the right note's out. There is the differency between the two. I prefer this version of shallow above the original.
An American Pop song for Floor is probably a once run through to sing on a Dutch National TV Show (Beste Zangers) compared to the complexity of any Nightwish song she sings live on tour in front of tens of thousands of chanting fans... America has auto-tune ingested in every song that can be heard on any high end system. This is the first time this song was sung by a real unaltered voice. America doesn't have real music anymore... so any cover/song Floor sings is something America can't produce anymore, sadly. David Florida USA

Btw , Floor has joined Nightwish on a short notice , just as backup singer, that ended in a full membership of Nightwish, together with Troy .
not so sure about that backup singer for NW though perhaps at some point briefly. Floor in the first band she joined was backup but became the front woman. When Annette got sick Tuomas called because he knew her from her own band that had been on tour with Nightwish. NW needed a replacement ASAP for their tour which was early in the schedule and history was made when she said yes
Congrats on your first Pfizer shot. I got mine on the 9th. I had no bad reactions at all. I didn't even really have a sore arm. I hear it's the 2nd shot that can be more difficult. For me,, it's a small price to pay for peace of mind, and the freedom to get together with others without the fear of infecting anyone. 😊👍
Little monday morning story from me. In the early morning on the way to work, i chose a radio station and a man's voice sang "... shaahallow ..." and a woman tried to reach and fill in the notes. In my thoughts I began to support her: more expression with more subtleties, more power with ease, ... simply more like Floor. Hmm .. which band I know would put this cover version on the radio, I know the female voice...Lady Gaga ... the coffee started to work...that's the original! ... I'm so used to Floor`s version!

You Sir missed the whole point of this version. Floor tells a story while tugging on heart strings. She is the greatest singer on earth. Even Lady Gaga said this is the best cover she has ever heard. You cannot compare this to her Nightwish performances.
Autotuned Gaga vs live Floor is close (but I still prefer the Floor version by a mile...live ALWAYS trumps autotuned imo). I'll give Gaga writers credit for writing a good song though. Live Gaga vs live Floor isn't even close, it's almost embarrassing for Gaga how much better Floor sounds live...go check out Gaga live and you will see. Any texture that is in Floors voice (or lack of) she almost certainly wanted it to be that way for a reason, it's what separates the pop-princesses from true masters of their instrument like Floor. You are early in your NW/Floor journey but trust me when I say you haven't even seen the tip of the iceberg yet regarding Floor's vocal capabilities...literally jaw-dropping in some cases. Gaga is a good singer, Floor is in another league entirely. As for the show, the premise is that singers come together each week and one member has songs sung to them by the other members that they either made or that mean something special to them. It's not a competition FYI. The reason they all looked surprised/shocked as you said is that Floor came to the show as an unknown mostly as she is famous worldwide but not in her home country. They know she is a metal vocalist and although they had heard her previous performance, being a metal singer and all on the show they did not expect her (nor maybe think she was capable) of doing this toned down and very intimate version of the song. They expected her to "make it metal" and blows their ears off. She blew them away with every song that she did (which i'm sure you will see when your react to the other performances) and is now quite famous in her own country because of it. I would suggest to reacting to her and Hanks performance of Phantom of the Opera next. Anyway, nice reaction m8. Looking forward to the next one.👍
