one of the honest video's on opening this laptop, i have seen person removing the screws then prying the front and sides then opening the base.. kinda gives some people false hope thats its really easy
Yeah... I don't know why they do that.
Just use a pry tool. You won't break anything and it's all of 2 dollars. Right tool for the right job. Use the one that looks like a guitar pick and run it along the sides. You don't even really pry and you won't break anything.
@dperrault12 the trick is knowing how much force you can apply without breaking things.

You are an honest man, the other youtubers just showed as they opened a tiffin box. But it was harder, just used little force and it removed perfectly

Yeah... lol doesn't seem professional to me.
I consider myself a pretty handy guy - definitely above average when it comes to DIY repairs. But there’s a big difference between ‘managing to somehow get it apart’ and being given a couple of key pointers that make it come apart without inadvertently breaking the delicate big or small pieces that very cleverly assembles together that you’d find in a modern laptop design. For me, I probably could have figured out how to get everything apart except that metal wire clip that secured the video ribbon connector to the LCD screen terminal, but especially those two stretchy adhesive strips. I’m sure I would have eventually gotten the screen out, but I would have broken the laptop lid and screen in the process. So, thanks for your excellent video. I’ll be hitting the ‘like’ button and sending $5 your way for helping me do it myself, and making my kid think I’m a hero for fixing his laptop.

Im getting the version from Walmart, which is on sale for $600 😅, and ima change rhe ram too 16gb. So you know if theres 2 ram slots? Since i dont think there is, I also dont know. Also, is there a way to stop the screen from being shaky.
If it's the same one in the video, you can see how many slots there are in the video. If you can't because you don't know what RAM looks like, I highly watching the video all the way through before ordering parts.
Hp technician changed my screen (under warranty) and now I'm facing backlight bleeding issue, should I get it again fixed by them or try by my own (this is my first laptop that I own)

Just added another 16 gigs of ram and added to the open slot. Should be 24 gigs now but looks like it’s only showing 16 like it’s only reading what I put into the new slot. Any idea why? Should be 8 for the factory plus the 16 I just added. Any insight?
Try reseating the sticks and then do a restart.

@@ItsBinhRepaired the issue is idk what right sized one is as I have a philips head toolkit with 38 screwdriver heads and none of them work outside of thinning out both my screw driver and the screw itself

Should I dismantle the screen and check to see if it’s the same model as the one in the video or is that not necessary? Also, eBay has this replacement screen for around $70. In your opinion should I go with those or are they not as reputable as the one you sent me on Amazon. Thanks for your help btw 😅

@LuisRodriguez-pw9tl make sure not to move the lcd lvds cables unless you disconnect the battery and hold the power button at least 15 seconds first.

Only if yours comes with the extra slot. Your question is answered by watching the video seeing what's inside. Yours might be different though, so you'll want to open yours to check.

I was just passing a spur of the moment thought .And I really dont see a problem with previously removing screws and disassembling the two halves, then replacing the screws and reassembling again. It's not cheating if you haven't yet actually done the upgrade itself. Like a rehearsal. Nothing stopping you from mentioning it with a forewarning and a few tips on how tough it might be. Just my thoughts. To be honest I think this video might likely scare a few off from attempting this.

@David Beard If it's difficult for me first time after all the thousands of computers I've worked on, it'll be much more difficult for anyone else. My videos show how difficult it is and will be.
If I make it look easy first time and people then try and have a tough time, they'll think something is wrong.
