I clicked on the video because I couldn’t see anything wrong with the thumbnail and the I realized I was baited (the video is still amazing though! definitely worth the watch)
Had I seen this 20 years ago I would be crying. You're very didatic and there is a lot of knowledge in your video, all made nice and easy, just a good time to watch
It depends on how drastic the turn of the head is, but in some cases, the second eye would be smaller. The eyes you were using as reference didn't have their head turned as far. But if you want to have a character looking back almost, it's the shape, not size, you would need to change. Trust your instincts you were doing it naturally without knowing. Good luck. 😊
7:08 if you want draw eyes, dont get distracted by the hair. and if you want make lively character avoid covering their eyes with hair. but it doesn't mean "don't draw hair covering the eyes" it's depends on the character. and you can test this theory by watching some movie or anime or series, and take a look how they make their character design especially in relation of eyes, hair, and the character personality.
It's a study guide rather than a step by step tutorial. Such as to draw better eyes you must understand the fundamentals of drawing an eye (3d form, anatomy, etc), to study how artists you like stylize their eyes, and apply that in practice.
this is so helpful! angled eyes are always so tricky qwq are there any specific brushes you used for this video? I'd love to play around with styles too!
if your art program allows you to customize the brushes .. i suggest making your own brush preset instead of using existing ones as every artist does strokes and pressure differently, and it helps you in creating your own style when you use your own brushes.
An exercise I like to check my values on digital art: add a solid white layer on top of everything and set it to "color", it will make the whole image greyscale!
Also, I don't think how you make one eye significantly smaller than the other is a bad thing necessarily. I actually like it - it emphasizes the 3-dimensionality of your faces. Plus it's unique in this popular style
First of all, amazing content video. I genuinely think that this is one of the best videos i have ever seen. It balances theory and practice so well, while giving example from others and your own. Beautiful ! Secondly: i never ever comment on youtube videos, however since i dont have instagram to ask you there i decided to come here ! Have you ever thought about streaming on twitch ? Or even maybe making a discord for a Community ? Would be so awesome ngl ! Anyways hope you have an awesome day and looking forward to more content :>
Wow, thank you so much for your kind words!! Glad you enjoyed the video. Regarding streaming and a discord, I haven't thought about it yet, but it's something I may consider in the future. The first thing on my list is possibly starting a patreon page for tutorials and more. Stay tuned if you're interested. Thanks again, and have an awesome day ❤️
So long as everything you do is on purpose. Tutorials like this are for those who are unaware they're doing it wrong. You have to know the rules first before breaking them.
i hate this type of clickbait. maybe there is useful information inside, but it relies on the novice's insecurity in their own knowledge. like it shows some completely fucking normal eyes or a normal midi piano roll or a normal epoxy resin mold or whatever and then tells you that some undefined unknown thing is RUINING your art, because you don't know anything abt art and you're still in the phase where you're windowdressing with a billion little tips and practices that are useful for maybe a year before you outgrow them so you can't actually verify whether you are inadvertently ruining your art by having not already memorized this particular one. anti-education material, this is.
I love your art!!! I also found this helpful, understanding the way the eye is shaped and how the eyelid wraps around the eyeball can be a complete game changer
Just wanna drop a great reference tool that is PureRef as well, can have it always on top of your canvas, just drag and drop any picture in it, tons of customization, and it's free.
Look at that! The algorithm suggested me a video of yours! :') I love that you started doing voiceover. It's so nice to follow you on your journey of striving to improve. Thank you so much for inspiring me :)
I want to use this to fix some deeprooted tiny habits i have with some eyes, so it seems informative, But im sorry, im having a hard time following the accent here and there, some things are clear but others are difficult to make out. Might be a bit of work but some subtitles or labels with your examples might help
You are really good at making those videos. I feel like I'm learning with every second of the video, which is rarely the case with those "this is why you are drawing X wrong" videos.
1:49 This is one of the signs of having a "lazy eye" or amblyopia, which is usually caught when you're a kid but not always. Since artists do a lot of close-up work, you should probably make sure you're taking regular breaks to look at things far away, or you can wind up having trouble focusing on things nearby and giving yourself eyestrain and headaches. I only point this out because I wish I'd known earlier myself. 😅
The theories about understanding objects as 3D is kinda of subjective among the artist, I think what the most important subjects is all about `Flip horizontal canvas` which only show in the last part of the videos. For Photoshop users, this command `Flip horizontal canvas` is rarely used, and some artists that used Photoshop for decades do not even think this command (`Flip horizontal canvas`) even exists (Whooopsy...). (I don`t know what program you are using, but atelast you showing the `Flip horizontal canvas`) `Flip horizontal canvas` is the most important aspect than anything.
As someone who feels self conscious of drawing eyes in general (for as long as I have), this helps me so much and makes me feel a little more confident in what I'm doing. ( ´ ▽`)づ·.•♡
YOOOOOOO YOU KILLED IT ON THE EYES IN THE STYLE OF DIFFERENT ARTISTS 🔥🔥
i.. don't like clickbait thumbnail

It shouldn’t be normalized imo.

Saaame
It is what it is 😅
lol same
I knew I was being baited and blocked anyway 🤧
😂
''Can you guess what's wrong here? There is no lighting here.'' I felt betrayed for searching any anatomical mistakes, I've been fooled.
the music gives such a nice vibe to this whole video. i hope you keep similar vibes for future vids!
Had I seen this 20 years ago I would be crying. You're very didatic and there is a lot of knowledge in your video, all made nice and easy, just a good time to watch
I got the Kan Liu's right! hahaha Love the game, and thank you for the tutorial!!!
I love how excited you are when revealing the artists! XD

The eyelashes looked good
Thank you!!
And never make those mistakes again 🙂
Yeaaaahh 💪

I really like the key points you compiled, thank you for sharing !!
The arrows in the thumbnail made it look like the face has a funny mouth.
i love seeing your art improvement in all these videos its amazing!!!! and so so so inspiring !!1 and never make those mistakes again !!
Thank you so much!!
YOU CANT TELL ME WHAT TO DOOOO RAAHHHH
😂😂
i just clicked on the video cuz in the thumbnail the eye shading looks weird and i clicked on the video to see if i was right
AAMMAAZINNG TANALIEKU !!!!!!!
THANK YOU!!!!!! 🙏🏻
Wait what is this video trying to explain
I think its about being more aware what eyes look from certain angles? I was left kind wonering the purpose as well.
It's a study guide rather than a step by step tutorial. Such as to draw better eyes you must understand the fundamentals of drawing an eye (3d form, anatomy, etc), to study how artists you like stylize their eyes, and apply that in practice.
I have bad news. I made the mistake again 😅😂

@@kuromiLayfe thank you! I'll definitely play around with the settings
In the final picture, the far eye was still a little too round instead of oval.
Haha I thought I was the only one who tried to draw eyelashes on their drawings but it never works
"and never make those mistakes ... a gang"
I WILL-
My favorite video ❤
I can recognize some Kan Liu eyes anywhere.
This is really good and informative
Thanks so much!!
I cant resist drawing connected red arrows between my eyes. Help!!
Your thumbnail was more interesting than the vid.
The way I follow/know so many of the artists you recreated eye styles for makes me so happy

That’s it!! I have been trying to find that trick for so long.
😭👏
Making me look at a picture that isn’t wrong is bullshit

I’m using the iPad Pro.
I didn't understanded anything.

Amazing video!! Super informative!
useful alternative: draw eyes how you like them! :3
Yeah, you're allowed to make them look strange... most people are going for visually appealing though.
So long as everything you do is on purpose. Tutorials like this are for those who are unaware they're doing it wrong. You have to know the rules first before breaking them.
"Don't draw eyes well like the picture in the thumbnail. Use shitty little dots insead"
Watching you draw in different styles was so fun also I love your voice it kinda reminds me of Little Misfortune 😭❤️💕
Ufff, Reference 🗿🚬
AHHAHAH IN DIFFERENT STYLES

Ahh, I’m grateful to you for that! That's when I seriously thought about it. I still find it challenging, but it gets better with each video ❤️

I'll never make those mistakes again. Amazing tutorial, thank you. :]
Sorry, I made that mistake again.
I'll draw how I want.
Liked because of cute laugh 1:49 :)
Awesome studies! On the left, do you have another canvas open for references? How do you get that setup?
Thanks! This is the VizRef app, I opened a picture with references in it.
Just wanna drop a great reference tool that is PureRef as well, can have it always on top of your canvas, just drag and drop any picture in it, tons of customization, and it's free.

You can use RUclips subtitles, I uploaded them specifically. Choose English, the non-auto-generated ones.
@@Tanalieku alright, noted

One of your resources...on anatomy....was anime and manga. Two things known for not following anatomy at all.
Im sorry, but I can't understand what you are saying. Its like a robot is trying to mimic a human voice.
bro's can't handle an accent
Don't use clickbaits...
the eye looks dry needs more shiney
Just why... Just why did you have to do this shit trend where you need to tell people what to and not to do. A shame.
