Thx marcel now I can finally color like a sir😅😅😅😅😅
Can you make a digital art brush video?
You realy speak like a sir.
Thank you.
Marcel...am a kid from Nigeria... please I want to pursue my art dreams... please I need an animation device.... please help 😢 1:42
Thanks bro thanks
Things look bluer/greyer in the distance because there's more dust and atmosphere particles between you and the object, which scatters the light and distorts the colours. The effect gets stronger if you've had several days without rain, and weaker right after a good downpour.
Mm. Its one of those tricks that has massive payoff in making your backgrounds look better. You make stuff further away more desaturated and tint it bluer (presumably you go for either orange or purple during sunset/night scenes, but thats a guess on my part, blue probably still works.
Ahh, thats why I feel like everything is so much more vibrant after it rains
Taking note of this, thank you for sharing info!
Actually, it's much more than that. It's called Rayleigh scattering and is acute caused by the atmosphere absorbing light. It's the same reason the sky is Azure and you have red sunsets.
For anyone who wants to properly research and study how this works
The term is called atmospheric perspective
Finally a color theory from the best teacher
Edit thanks 444 likes😭

So true ✨
Fr
right
he is awesome

The internet (or at least the artists I've seen) have done colour theory so dirty. It has always been presented to me as though it was this complex, only-an-artist-would-understand-it type of thing, and in just 14 minutes you've proven to me that, not only is it something I already knew but didn't know the name of, it's a concept anyone can grasp if *properly* explained.
I don't know what I should praise you for, the way you explain, your art, Or the effort spent on editing, the video is very complete ❤
all
congratulations on 1M subs. to see the art teacher I've watched for the past 2 years finally reach the recognition he deserves is just the best
Damn right
WE NEED TO GIVE THIS VIDEO AS MANY LIKES AND VIEWS AS POSSIBLE SO HE MAKES MORE OF THESE COLOR VIDEOS AND OTHER VIDEOS AS WELL. Share this his channel to everyone who also likes or wants to learn how too draw. HE IS STILL FAR TOO UNDERATED
Fr i totally agree
You’re so honored I made a PowerPoint about you in school 😍
You are not a draw like a sir fan. You are a entire air conditioner
unrelated but love your pfp

I was literally searching up tons of videos about coloring. Thank you for answering my prayers
This is by far the best video about color theory basics that I have seen. Looks like it doesn't have to be boring 😋
Fr
There is a very interesting book about Color Theory I've been reading too! It's pretty darn great and not boring! Alhtough it's about the psychological and symbolic aspect of each individual color rather than color combination like in this video. Still, VERY insightful!
@@mekingtiger9095what’s the name of the book?
@@JFreetard I cannot seem to find the exact name of it in English, but it's something like "Psychology of colors" by Eva Heller. There's a PDF for that.
@@mekingtiger9095 aight, thanks a lot!
I also really like how, as some others have said, you show the examples that are "wrong". Not only does it help me know what to avoid, the other side of the coin shows interesting ways that these things could be utilized.
Having one specific object or detail defy typical color theory practice could be a great way to purposefully make it feel out of place.
I used to watch tones of tutorials, I spent hours and hours trying to understand some art basics and suddenly I found this channel and you explain it all in just few minutes videos! ❤
The most deserved 1M subs in the whole RUclips 🎉🎉🎉
I’ve been waiting for so long for a color theory explanation specifically from you
Still can't believe how well this videos are edited
Ive been having a difficult time understanding color theory, mainly because of saturation and value, but now after I’ve watch this video, I can understand it well and will be putting a lot more practice to it as well
Keep up the great work
These were great! I'd also recommend artists to have a go at using a grey or neutral mid-tone instead of white to begin, it can really help judge values and even colours more accurately
I literally took a screenshot of the “cheat sheet” just before you said “now what might a screenshot cost?” You knew. Naturally I liked the video
As an artist that's been drawing for as long as he can remember, I've always struggled with color theory. I get the basic concept, but it's always been the application that stumped me. Definitely going to be saving this and signal boosting it to my buddies, thanks a ton for this! 🙏
Honey, wake up. Draw like a sir just posted
Shout out to DLAS! My guy edits his own videos, is making a manga, has to go to conventions and Ofc making RUclips for us all to improve on our weak points in art. Thanks man, you is the goat.
I am a studying graphic designing where this is important but couldn't get this one thing right, but this video you made is so good that it cleared everything for me and explained it in a wonderful way.
I’ve literally seen so many color theory videos, and they just confused me, you explain everything so well ✨
Not only was this video full of useful information but it was a great summary of all the information in bite sized pieces. Thank you for making this video and sharing it with all of us.
I myself do pretty well drawing but my lack of skill comes in colouring in my artwork. This is something i have been trying to improve on and probably will always have to practice. This video is now one of my guides to come back to if i ever start drifting away with bad habits.
Thanks for this. I think this is the first colour theory video I've watched that shows examples with and *without* the theory applied and it's really enlightening.
This!! Being able to see what is missing (or a negative characteristic that appears) can be crucial to understanding.
The animation in this video is really impressive
Honestly I can't even describe how much it helped me, hats off ❤👍
I've had difficulty understanding color theory for so long, this video finally put it into proper perspective in a way I understand, thank you so much!
I just want to say thanks, your channel has helped me so much in this past year.
This was one of the videos in German that I most wanted to see translated!!
I also don't understand why the color/painting videos are the least watched, they are my favorite!!
And once again congratulations on the 1Mi, you really deserve it :D
My favourite art RUclipsr❤
You come accross my feed as soon as i opened youtube, it refreshed my knowledge about color theory and also learned about new things that i can apply to my new artworks, Thank you and definitely will follow you^^
The videos you have about coloring are usually my favorite types of videos coming from you. I understand why they are less popular than other videos, but I hope they keep on coming, can't wait to try these tips out!
Thank you for this video. Yes, please more videos on color!
Bro I simply can't understand what to love more, your art, how you explain the topics or the EDITING, I love every video of yours I've watched so far
Ngl I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THE PERFECT VIDEO ABOUT COLOR THEORY FOR MONTHS AND THIS IS JUST *CHEF'S KISS*
So good to see you finally get recognition congrats!!! also since your German channel unfortunately never got this much credit.. You always did a fantastic job in your tutorials and still getting better. You are gifted to teach something so easy to everyone and with a lot of humor too!! 👌🏻 Thank you for all your hard work I really hope it is finally worth it for you!!!
WOAH YOU HIT 1 MIL
congrats 👏
and amazing video as usual
Always a pleasure to see a new video from you!
man this is the first video ever that left me with the feeling of I actually learnt something. this is probably because it is the first time I saw someone explain basics so simple and yet funny to learn. congratulations on 1M subscribers. you really deserve it
Just ordered your calendar bundle, sooo looking forward to receiving them. I looked for a long time for someone to learn from who worked in traditional media, there were so many who worked only digitally. Thank you.😊
oooh this video was really helpful in understanding colour context! it is also the first colour theory guide i've seen that's ever mentioned the immersion thing, it makes a lot of sense! thank you so much ^-^
Congratulations on 1 million subs! Well deserved especially with how well these tutorials are made, from the production quality to the humor. I hope to see more of videos like this one from you in the future, since color is one of my weaker subjects.
Thank you! You should have seen my face when I realized I just understood the color picker square (you explain it so well!)
I'm new to drawing, so I'm learning the basics. Your videos are some of my favorites. You're a fantastic teacher!
I really appreciate all your color videos~ it’s always been a struggle for me and sometimes I get overwhelmed with all the other videos but you keep it simple for dummies like me!
always explained PERFECTLY 😍
I am not a trained artist but I have been painting for a while. But always did it on a whim. This video is just what was missing from my work to make it more natural. You are an amazing teacher. Keep up your work !
Wow, this helps a lot! I've never gone past sime of the easier parts of color theory like primary, secondary, tertiary colors along with what value, hue, and saturation are. I didn't know as much about the more complicated stuff, plus you made an example of how exactly you apply all these things when making art. This was so much easier to understand. Thank you for this 😭👍❤
this is the stuff I NEED to learn more than anything and there's hardly any in depth stuff that makes sense to me ;A; I very much enjoyed this video and your examples, thanks Herr Marcel 👍
😊I am so happy that I found this channel before my elementary examination. I was so tensed due to my exam but now I am feeling little bit relaxed because of your videos and thank you so much and yes I am from India❤
🥰your the best art teacher for me
🙂I will wait for your replay❤
Ahh yes the only art teacher that is cultured to the giga chad level
I seriously love your videos so much: the way you explain, the information itself, the jokes thrown in, the editing; it all combines to form videos which are a delight to watch and learn from. You really deserve those 1 million subscribers. Congratulations, by the way! 🎉
I really hope you get more recognition soon, but as of now, know that your viewers (well, me at least) love you and your work a lot. Thank you so much for putting so much effort into these videos. This particular one was really interesting and helpful too. Have a great day. ❤️
this just made so much sense. I felt like color theory was going to be overwhelming. But you put it into a super concise and simple way for me to start the learning process. Your videos have been a great help. Looking forward to what else I can gleam from your content.
Love your videos, man! The effort you pour into them is visible in the editing, which is SO smooth and nice. Also, congrats on the million subs. You deserve it!
Congratulations to 1.000.000 Subscribers 🎉🍾🎆
Thank you so much for your tutorials. It's great to see your way to artwork. 👍😍
Your channel is becoming my favorite art channel, I adored it!
Ive really been wanting to dig into colour theory a bit more, thank you so much for doing this guide!
I'm always impressed by this channel because of how professional the editing is as well as how helpful the content in the video is. I really appreciate every video i see from this channel. Please keep going❤
Color theory has been one of the main things that I couldn't seem to "wing". I don't intuitively understand it.
This video is so helpful. You don't delve so deeply into the concepts that I lose the main point, and you select great examples that are focused and unmuddied. Greatly appreciate it.
I'm not only giving you a like for the screenshot, I'm subscribing and adding this vid as fav. The colour context part was illuminating for me
I've seen a bunch of color theory videos, but none explain them as good as you! Thank you!!
I was always afraid of coloring, but I think this will help. Hope you make more color-theory-videos
Thanks Dallas i was really looking for a color theory.. your explanation are easy to understand! 👍🏽
man i appreciate how thought out and cohesive your videos are, im experienced enough to not need these vids but its always entertaining to watch.came back after a while and u finally got a mil :o
This was really useful! Youre really good at keeping your videos concise, which makes videos about what is seemingly a complicated topic feel more like i could learn something! Thank you so much!
This is fantastic! Thank you for taking the time to make a video that may not perform well. Color theory is my weak spot for me so this is greatly appreciated.
Amazing artist 🎨 I will always cherish your masterpieces and hold them close to my heart forever ❤
Thank you for the awesome video! I've been wanting to bump up my art game, and I've realized I need to stop doodling and get into painting. Color theory, color context, and all of the surrounding bits are so important to learn to get a solid understanding of how to really dive into that world.
Colour is actually very important, especially to manga cover arts and paintings😊
Congratulations for 1million
Love your efforts to create these videos
Thanks
me, a traditional pencil artist watching 200 colour theory videos: hmm, yes...
I would love more videos on coloring! Such a fascinating topic and your explanations are always so helpful!!!
This is great explanation of all the basic intricacies of color theory, which is definitely not the easiest topic to understand! Your artworks lately are so on point, the calendar looks great. 😁
Thank you very very much sir for making so much amazing tutorials and guide for us it help us so so so so so so so so much 😊☺❤❤🙇🙇😉😊☺❤👍🙇🙇
For the algorithm (and thank u so much for the effort u put in the videos)
I think triad color schemes are my favorite, they add so much interest to a drawing without overcomplicating the palette :)
pleaseeeee release more videos about coloring 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏they are super super duper helpful and important! Thank you for all the hardworking ❤❤❤❤
افضل صانع محتوى رسم على الاطلاق ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks to you my art has gone from absolute shit to better and more confident art THANK YOU SO MUCH SIR!
I think this was a Great video, I Don't normally use color but when i do it looks a bit Weird, so this helps a lot, Thanks!
I have been searching for a video explaining this. Thanks! Also your special affects are great!!!
Your ability to use color is fascinating. The art feels like it has a ton of life. Have you utilized oil painting very much? I find it tough to work with but it creates my favorite types of paintings.
If you do work with oil paintings, make sure to ventilate the room, turpentine is poisonous and the smell sticks
Ahh yes color theory🗿🍷
Still one of the best art teachers on RUclips. Fantastic production Sir!
Love the videos man. And congrats on 1 million you deserve it
Actually there's a colour scheme for the 8:00 part which is called split-complementary colour scheme and it works.
Also I saw your watercolour tutorial and it's really great too. :D
The perfect teacher doesn't exis-
10:14 “Aerial perspective” was self-explanatory tbh. It is also known as atmospheric haze, but “aerial perspective” is giving a tone as an optics term rather than a chemistry term.
Congrats on 1 million! I love your videos 🎉🎉✨
Me after I realized that I was colored in a completely wrong way:🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿
Literally liked the video before watching it!
( ̄︶ ̄)
BTW Marcel thanks a lot for this video!
Edit: Okay, now that our sir has taught us "Color Theory Like A Sir," it would be wonderful if you could show us how to combine the colors if we are doing some kind of watercolors or acrylic paints! (I have seen all your videos before including the watercolor tutorial, it would still be really helpful if you could show us how to create whatever color we want.)
Will be waiting for your next video!
XD!
I love the colouring videos, don't understand why they underperform
He has the Kurzgesagt calendar.
Marcel is The GOAT
got it, if you want harmony, you need Anal Amongus
First pin me
I love the coloring tips. Looking forward to more of 'em. They're really helpful. 🙏
we got it. now we need a video of how to apply these theories to digital art, like a tutorial, that’d be a great help.
I-m a graphic designer and always had trouble with color theory cause is so extensive and detailed, this vid helped a lot
Fantastic video, great description. I personally find all your videos extremely useful. Thanks for the hard work.
Great video ! I always struggled with coloring, all my traditional drawing are black and white, but when I do digital art I always color them because it's easier. I am so glad I discoverd your channel your videos are always so good and explanatory
Really love how you simplified thing make it easy to digest for us
