The fact that Indian efforts in ww2 are not even recognised in the morden day world makes this video sadder
they have always underestimated us the west i am talking about they will regret it once we climb at the top.

My twice great grandfather was an indian medic in the 1st world war, he served in the 1st battle of ypres and saved 3 british soldiers. once during an attack, he came face to face with a german and swept his bayonet in the enfield he was holding and fired a shot into him while the bayonet was still inside, he was then stabbed in the back and fell on the ground, the attack was repelled and he was sent back as his injury was serious. he told his son aka my grandfather these stories and he told them to me.

Churchill gave them a rough deal, betraying them after promising them so much . African soldiers were also treated badly after the war and so were the Polish Pilots of the RAF who sacrificed so much during the battle of Britain.
I mean, most Indians hate Churchill. Under him, the British mismanagement of the Bengal famine caused like 3-4 million deaths (could be more, those are more along the lines of 'Official' British numbers).
For them , Anglo saxon blood is more important than Asian, slavic or African blood.
They cared more for German pows tha their own empire.
Both of you are incorrect on both accounts. The Polish pilots while RAF, weren't spritually fighting for Britain they were fighting to restore Poland, Britain, despite sheltering them owes them no more than what Poland owes Britain for war supplies, accomdating polish military etc.
India was given a great deal of importance to Churchill and Indians and Africans left the war with medals and honours like any other soldier. Lastly India was not betrayed but in fact the oposite, India's independence followed their sacrifice for the war. So everything worked out as intended.
Also, please find me the average British soldier that was actually treated well after the war, you would find not many.
Indians were given inferior weapons and had to make do, and some times wooden rifles, there was a limit to what rank Indians could get up to compared to white soldiers , and didnt Churchil divert food that was going to Indians soldiers to English soldiers saying our stocky soldiers need it more than the wiry Indians who can handle less food better than us ? @@brad5426
@@brad5426India was promised independence two times and never got independence until things got out of hand because of axis and INA. So the British had to resign or they will be kicked out by the locals.
The situation was so unstable that they left their colonies one by one.
The short segment from 1:30 to 1:35 shows the heliograph drill.
What is heliograph drill ?

Indians themselves dont recognize the contributions of its soldiers in world wars but the British Empire awarded Victoria Crosses and other gallantry medals to thousands of Indians and their efforts are remembered on Commonwealth Day and Remembrance Day !
Yeah we don't and we won't. We will NEVER RECOGNIZE THOSE WHO CONTRIBUTED TO OUR OPPRESSORS. THEY ARE BETTER OF DISAPPEARING INTO OBLIVION. Bose and INA who fought for our freedom are real heroes
Indian army does , every regiment is proud of its history, and since we civilians are proud of indian army , we are elated at every mention of a gallantry award .
They were our men , and we are damn well proud of them
Also ignore the above comment.
don't ignore the comment. anyone who fought in the british army is a traitor. i honestly don't care about them. bose and ina being with japan was no better but atleast they fought for our freedom not for our oppression. if british lost ww1 we'd probably be free due to british might collapsing
Absolutely. Do the veneration of Bose and INA really believe the Japanese would have allowed an independent India, no they would have been part of a Japanese controlled Asian Empire. Any resistance by the Indian states etc would have been ruthlessly oppressed like in China.
thanks for posting

One of the biggest contributions of Britain was modernization of Indian (India&Pakistan) Army. Loss of Indian army was also one of the biggest losses of the empire. When we talk about the jewel of the British Crown, we should talk about more than two and half million highly disciplined soldiers.Loss of Indian army had a devastating effect on Britain's international standing.
yet another Pakistan trying to suck upto to the Brits. I wonder if you have other actual 'freedom fighters' mentioned in your textbooks aside from Jinnah and his cronies?
@@PK-se2jh I can't change your thinking. I admit that Britain benefited from India but it is wrong that they didn’t anything for sub-continent. 2.5 million Armymen's salaries were paid from central exchequer. Their ration and clothing were supplied by Indian businesses.Their barracks and Bangalows were built by Indian masons. So Indians were indirect beneficiaries of any profiteering activity of British Raj.

Because a lot of post war and post independence treatment of these troops was to call them traitors, so they're not even particularly respected by their own country? I find it fascinating.

They would have refused. Sikhs mostly avoided helmets. The other religion got helmets. This is in camp. So no one was wearing any.
