Thanks for your support through these tutorials! Q: When close to the green/flag I'm not able to zoom from the ball to the flag. I have not figured an adjustment to allow this 😕 Right now I'm 35Y just off the green to the flag.
OMG I wasn't lying when I said in your stream that I'd fall asleep watching this. I actually did!!! Very useful video for the wind as well as for sleep issues...LOL
@@GamerAbility 1.25 sometimes more, sometimes less. LOL BTW totally shot like crap on the latest society round. Switched to the sticks and it went badly.
So once I go down to a wedge it's auto lower for wind speed obviously. Wit if your just on the brink of getting the wedge out is it still the 1.25 and not the . 50
I've been grinding (LVL 20 player now) trying to get better. Your vids have helped. I'm wondering, what is the best way to handle a situation where you have a hard lie pushing left for example, and a significant wind pushing right? Normally to offset the hard lie pushing left you have to aim more to the right, but if a significant wind is already pushing right, then what?
Glad the videos have been helpful! Appreciate you! So yeah those examples are tough with a big side hill lie and also significant wind. So I usually compensate for the lie angle first, and then move my aim marker for the wind. There is so much variability in lie angles which makes it tough. So in some cases the lie angle and wind will cancel each other out when they are in opposite directions like that.
Newbie here, I'm kinda lost you on 27:58 regarding that 18MPH cross-headwind. 60% of 15 is 9, but you've only offset your aim 5yds to the right. Did I miss a step in this calculation somewhere? Thanks!
Amazing the amount of time and effort you've put into this. I'm pretty competent at the game, but I do struggle with adjusting for the wind sometimes, going to try these calculations immediately! Thank you!
Thank you for pointing that out! I actually cannot believe I missed that with how many times I looked at it. The funny thing is I spelled it wrong each time LOL!!!
Cross head winds and cross tail winds are the 1.0 multiplier. So the number in that case would be 8 yards. But remember cross head and tail winds have the greatest variability. Now for straight side winds the multiplier is 1.25
So that was in the aim multiplier section of the video. So I call that a straight cross side wind. The multiplier I use is 1.25 times the wind speed. This will tell you how many grid lines/quick flicks of the stick to aim to the right or left to compensate. Hope this helps!
Great work, thank you. Bit confused though….your table refers to % multiplier - so I thought you were going to apply the same logic to lie modifiers, but it seems these are just yardage multipliers ie for a 10mph tailwind you are not adding 10% to the overall club distance, just 10 yards irrespective of club used? Am I understanding correctly?
Great question! So the % multiplier value times the wind in MPH gives you the distance affect in yards. So the article on my website explains in more detail and you may find it helpful: gamerability.com/ultimate-wind-guide-pga-tour-2k23/
Glad it was helpful! So I actually covered those shots in the video, but I also cover it in more detail in my article on my website. Here is the link to my article: gamerability.com/ultimate-wind-guide-pga-tour-2k23/
I very well could have missed this. Example: 18mph perfectly crosswind (at 9 or 3 on a clock) Obviously playing the left to right - but that crosswind also kills distance too, ya? How much distance do you add on high wind crosswinds? Thanks in advance!
Hey Ace! So yes this was in the video in the first data sheet slide and cross winds were on the right side of the slide. So for cross headwinds in high winds the more accurate multiplier would be around 1.5. So in your example, the 18 mph cross head wind left to right would affect around 27 yards in distance and around 18 yards in sim with regards to left to right movement. But if you just use 1.25 you will be pretty close most of the time and compensate by just adding a few yards in high and very high winds. There is so much variety in cross head winds due to the angle being more vertical and horizontal, which is why I included the extra cross head wind and tail wind information and talked about it a lot. I have an article on my website which may help you as well with a lot of information. The link is in my pinned comment on this video, or just find it at www.gamerability.com Hope this helps!

Have you noticed any inconsistencies with the wind I had a ten MPH cross wind in multiplayer and adjusted for the wind I hit a perfect yet the ball went exactly where I aimed the shot the wind didn’t touch it
So I have not noticed this in any society rounds or local rounds. Maybe this is a specific problem with multiplayer of the wind not registering. I know there is a flight boost skill in the wind that when combined with the aviator ball can basically decrease the winds affect by like 70% or more. Would you happened to have been using the aviator ball and the flight boost in the wind skill? Also if you hit like a 105 or higher that would really decrease the wind as well.
Hi there! I think the magic number for Wind is four. This is another way to solve the Wind issue while playing. You just have to divide the wind by four. This is the increase you have to add to wind number. Example in the video: wind 15 mph. The result number is almost 4. You have to choose the closest number in the multiplication table of four. Four times four equals sixteen. 16:4=4; 15:4=3,75 adding these number to the wind which is 15+4=19y ; 15+3,75=18,75y Now if you use gamer ability system. 15x1,25=18,75y. Same result. This method can be done more easily without a calculator than gamer’s imao. Remember, four is the magic number Hope it helps someone else who uses mental calculations . 😊👍
Thanks! This is a much more easier math to deal with! I'm still learning the game, can this be applied to full crosswind and cross HW/TW somehow? Or is there a similar math tick that I could be using for left/right adjustment?
@@LymarkW if It Is straight from left to right or right to left, You have to move the grid The same number of wind and Subtract one. That’s because the grid comes im meters. 1 meter : 0,90 yards
@@inaki7402 The number seems to be a little off though. Say for 10mph straight crosswind. 10 x 1.25= 12.5. If I were to use your method, the result would be 9. I guess I shouldn't be asking too much for doing it the lazy way? lol
Could you make a wind guide for the different balls, please, the main one for me would be the Aviator lv1 pack legendary I'm sure there will be a big difference in wind effects, thank you.
So all you have to do is just lower your multiplier slightly when you are using the aviator. It is actually not as big of difference as I originally though. So flight mostly just increases your distance the ball carries in the air, and wind does have less affect but not as much as I previously thought. So when using the aviator ball use around 1.15 for drivers, woods, hybrids, and Irons and then 0.75 for wedges for both distance and aim. Now you still have to make some adjustments like I said in the video and article on the website for High winds and such. So increase the number for high and very high wind speeds. Now flight does seem to lead to more inconsistency's in the wind compared to the other balls, and the wind numbers are more varied and not as specific, which is why I do not use the aviator balls. I personally do not really like the aviator type golf balls, and do not really use them much. I prefer the redline or friction golf balls.
