    I've had several cars in my life & have never changed my cabin filter until now & didn't even know where it was so there's a first time for everything & I'm definitively gonna make it scented

      Just be careful , oil based air fresheners can damage filters

      It’s a waste because you will be doing it every few days. Not really worth it.

    Quick question here, and by the way, amazing video! Would the leather-scented Wonder Wafers work as well? Been trying Chemical Guys "New Car" and "Leather" scents, and they're incredibly ineffective, and downright terrible, so was wondering about the wafers in the cabin filter could cut it? Thanks!

      Depending on the size of them I’d say they might work, I’ve been taking chemicals guys air freshener spray and spraying the cabin filter and it seems to work decent. I’ve been using the cherry spray tho

    • @mr.boosted9983
      @mr.boosted9983  3 года назад +2

      No it did not. The only way I can see it causing problems would be if you completely blocked the flow of air coming in

      @@mr.boosted9983 The cabin air filter is supposed to filter out dirt/debris (large particles) then the various layers within the filter will filter medium to small particles down to 0.3 Microns if it has an H12 MERV TRUE HEPA filter, as well as odours if it has a charcoal layer (activated carbon) so placing these pods before the filter (air flow direction) is somewhat pointless and defeats the purpose of having a filter. I’d spray something similar in liquid form right in the blower motor that way there are no lose pods or gel fragrance things flying everywhere in the core. All air fresheners things are made of organic volatile chemicals, organic means they are very stable chemically so they don’t react with other chemicals easily (think benzene rings) and so they aren’t broken down or digested in the body so they linger for decades and eventually cause free radicals and are so can be considered carcinogens. But we all use them from time to time; that’s kind of important (time to time means less dosage, frequency of exposure etc.) now if people drive for a living 8+ hours daily and they breath these chemicals it can’t be good. I guess if you find a natural source like coconut, lavender or citrus extracts it could be better, but who’s to say, they’re still stable organic chemicals that aren’t digested by any enzymes. Another point is in the Winter when the heater is on these chemicals might heat up and release formaldehyde and other toxic fumes, let alone they may change chemically and start to smell nasty. Let alone if they have flammable components they may give a burning scent. Hopefully though they are thick oils that evaporate slowly even in high heat (45Celcius) partly because they are designed as slow release long lasting scents. But you gotta check the MSDT on these or another alternative if you decide to just find a spray and occasionally spray the blower motor. Very small squirts should do in case you decide to spray your favourite cologne with high alcohol levels in the summer where the AC won’t evaporate the alcohol and u park inside, so the seals & rubbers should survive. There are ppl that drench their AC/heater core in 70 proof alc. thinking it’s the way get rid of the virus, but they just destroyed their core and their lungs.
