Brittany, I have 2 issues with the FXD. First, it doesn’t match my work suit, and second, it doesn’t have 500m of water resistance, which is essential for my sales desk job. Other than those two things, it’s a pretty cool watch.

@@SirBender You are so right. It's MUCH better than a Rolex. In some ways, it's the watch Rolex should have made, if they weren't so obsessed in making very ordinary watches out of outdated steel, or stealing from you by making ordinary watches out of gold. Sir Bender! You hit the mail, right on the head.

Bought an FXD MN for my 50th two weeks ago..My first expensive watch and I love it. I also spent a lot of time in the RN, diving and flying, so had a lot of fixed bar watches issued with NATO straps. This is perfect for me and will not leave my wrist... The blue changes intensity in different lights and really pops in the sun..

I’ve had three people excitedly comment and enquire about my FXD. They were all young boys, friends of my sons. Not one adult or watch geek has ever commented, that makes the watch even cooler imo. Kudos to Tudor for capturing the imagination and minds of a new generation of watch aficionados.

I love the fact that the fixed lugs are cast (or milled?) as part of the case itself, not just soldered in. Unfortunately this watch is way too large for me though. Are there any other watches with a similar lug setup? I’d like to find a nice field watch in a sub-40mm diameter, short lug-to-lug, with integrated lugs like this.

I absolutely love my black FXD - super legible, massively durable, is trim thickness wise, sits great on the wrist, is lightweight titanium, a lume beast, very accurate and by changing the strap I can go from subtle to eye popping - I wear it most often on elastic single pass CNS Paratrooper straps or an Octopod system strap - I spend a lot of time in rural Latin America for work, it has become my "go to" over the past year. It works as a field watch with skin diver properties and if I stick with tamer straps it totally flies under the radar which is why I prefer the black over the blue, and imo is the best true tool in my collection - no, it is not for everyone, definitely not ideal for the one-watch person, there is no way to dress it up and if you hate "nato" style straps, it is pretty much a no go, but for my use case it is fantastic. Nice to see this watch starting to get some love from reviewers like yourself and a few others. Always appreciated the BB, but imo the Pelagos line is Tudor at its best - a true modern and unique redesign of the quintessential tool watch. I have been a Pelagos devotee for years, actually my LHD was my "work watch", but the FXD has stolen its glory. One last thing I would add: do not dismiss this watch based on it dimensions or the initial impression takes of most reviewers, imo you really need to try this watch for yourself to understand it. You will notice that the people that actually own and use it are often as effusive with their love for this watch like myself. I saw your earlier reviews about the FXD and you struck me as somewhat lukewarm about it like most, so I really appreciate your doubling back and creating additional content as you both experienced wearing and using this piece. Thank you.

This is correct the black fxd was tested by multiple squadrons of the navy seals, they have 2 lines of text at the 6 o’clock squadron name and color and a simple “200m” also other counter assault units have placed private orders of fxd’s and lhd’s with simple squadron names. They allow loose advertising by Tudor but nothing specific to modern use. Many seals also purchase them and Rolex submariners privately in tradition with older seals having them issued by the military in the past.

As more and more of us are divorcing ourselves from Rolex, Tudor is the former in-law with whom we still remain friendly after the divorce. With the exception of the few high horology Rolex movements offered in the Sky-Dweller and Yacht-Master II, there is almost nothing Rolex offers which cannot be adequately satisfied by a Tudor reference of one kind or another at a lower cost. I love both the 42mm blue Pelagos on the bracelet and the FDX, although the only Tudor I have ever owned was an estimable stainless steel Fast Rider chronograph with a 7750 Valjoux movement which I now wish I had kept as it was a superior daily wear watch with great aesthetics. With the in-house MT movements which are now time tested, Tudor is in the no brainer catalogue. My favorite underrated Tudors are the aluminum bronze cased Tudors which (except for the Bucherer Blue reference) seem to have lost popularity. I thought that Tudor really nailed how to use metallurgy technology to provide the beauty of a bronze case without the detriment of discoloration.

My FXD gets more wrist time than anything else I own. The problem with the MN FXD (and a key difference on the Black version) is that the markers on the bezel count down which is useful for navigating underwater... just not so useful as a normal dive watch. The black has the normal bezel so can be used for diving... I still prefer the MN though

Britt!!!! 200K Subs!!!!!! Keep showing everyone what this Maison can do! On the FXD, if I was forced to sell my collection and only keep one watch, this would be my one watch collection. While I was on the waitlist for an FXD-MN, I was getting so discouraged. But when the FXD Black model was released, I figured I would get the MN by default as everyone would move to that waitlist. But when my AD called and asked if I wanted the FXD-Black I was overjoyed and have not looked back. It is a NATO strap monster and I always have a big grin when I put it on.

I have a p39 but would get a blue FXD in 39 knowing full well there is really no material difference in these watches. The FXD just hits all the right tool watch notes, that I don't even care that it's essentially the same watch. The P39 bracelet is amazing and I would never take it off, so need the FXD for nato days. Will Tudor do it? I know Tudor listens to their customers more than Rolex does so it seems possible.

Bought the MN24 recently when my 2nd child is born in this year. Love every bit of quirkiness about it, especially the countdown bezel. I am wearing it on my 5.9inch wrist. It been my daily since I bought it.

Don’t know if it’s underrated, but I absolutely love mine. Traded in my BB 58 blue as part of the transaction. This was the better blue dive watch for me personally and within my current collection. For a variety of reasons, fell out of love with the BB 58.

I agree. Only because I tried it on. That watch is so light and comfortable. You won’t know that you’re wearing it. I hope baby is doing good🤙🏾

The FXD is very neat. As you said, modern military watches seem to be overlooked in favor of vintage or vintage-inspired ones, even though it is super special to have a watch used in some of the toughest situations. I have realized I do not even know what watches are used in modern militaries. What watch does the Royal Navy issue nowadays?

Does the lume still fall out of the Pelagos bezel?

The original Pelagos is the most underrated imo. Every new version gets hyped, the Pelagos 39, the FXD, even the left hander. But they all carry their own flaws and limitations.
The original Pelagos is where all these design choices originate. It's the purest form, the most tool-centric of the line and of Tudor in general.

I absolutely love this design. It’s everything I want in a Pelagos-blue and no date. But…the fixed lugs, I know that’s the raison d’être, but I hate to spend this much on a watch that can’t have a bracelet or even a strap. I really, really want one, I just have a hard time making it happen. Although, as someone with a dive and chronograph heavy collection, this would set it well apart from the rest of them. Damn it, Britt, I just spotted a rabbit hole you’re going to make me go down…

🐬 club here! A very unpopular decision according to both my wife and the dive guide though, do not recommend 😂. In my defence, I was following a turtle along the wall in Saipan, easy mistake to make. Keep up the good work!

This is my first Tudor (my first luxury watch). I have the redbull edition and I absolutely love it. I honestly prefer Tudor over Rolex. Not because I can’t afford it. Tudor is just making really cool stuff.

It was certainly a bit underwhelming on opening due to light weight and slimmer case, but I soon warmed to it.
Bagged an MN21 at launch 😈
Only 150 in the UK (less than 1 per AD) according to Tudor.......... Relationship building works 🙃
If anyone has a son with the initials MN and wants a cool 21st birthday present ............ get in touch 😂
I had to buy an MN23 so I could actually wear one!

Nah, the regular blue 42 Pelagos is WAY more useful for diving and timing deco stops, bottom time, transit times, slack water etc!! - - anyone notice you accidently mentioned the lug width of 50M ?? lol!!!!!! nice review though, love Tudor and love the Peli....such good value.
