I have been using baby powder on my scalp for years, because I have always had very oily hair. I highly recommend applying it to fully dried hair after a shower, and not waiting until later (my hairstylist even stole this idea of immediate application from me, and made it seem as though it were her idea. I knew this because she later told me about it even though I was the one who actually told her, lol). This prevents oil from becoming problematic by nipping it in the bud before it travels down the hair shaft. Also, the way i apply it is I put it on my hands and then use my fingers to apply it directly to the scalp (especially for dark haired ladies). You can even put some backing cocoa (not the sweetened kind unless you want to attract bugs, lol) in it to make the powder a bit brown so it is not so white. Thanks for all your tips Isabelle!
Another tip is to wear a single or double strand of pearls. Pearls add a touch of elegance to any outfit. They can instantly class up jeans and a simple v neck sweater.
I totally agree, the classic style is something that I always go for/ strive for! I think that classic pieces of clothing never go out of style. What clothing brand do you go for?
Hi hun! Thanks so much for watching! I don't tend to spend too much on clothes as I prefer to purchase higher end classic bags/shoes etc but when I invest in classic clothes that I'll wear for a long time, I go for Karen Millen, Reiss, Zimmermann etc. Xx
Classy, well spoken. Such a pleasant voice! Perfect advice for approaching, high end mixed with low end fashion and practical living tips that is great. You are going to flourish! I live for channels like this!
Hi hun! I'm not too familiar with what stores are in the Philippines but my best bet is also Amazon. Look up "portable steamers" on Amazon and a whole lot will come up :) Xx
Tip: Don't worry about the sizes just about how the clothes fit you. Different companies differ in sizes hugely, so the sizes don't mean too much, they are just helpfull within one designer.
Great tips! I think another tip to looking classy is clean presentable shoes! If you have a great outfit but your shoes are a disaster then the whole look is ruined! You must have a well appointed shoe and bag to elevate any look!
Hi Isabelle. I am watching for the first time in Mesa, Arizona. USA and enjoyed your video. I have a question about natural fragrances. Some people complain about having an allergic reaction to the perfumes of other people. Could that be because the fragrances were synthetic, or is it likely that someone put too many spritzes of either natural or synthetic fragrances? Do you have any advice on this for the person who would like to wear a fragrance that does not create allergic reactions in those around her?
Another great video. Great tip about the steamer, they are a must. I have a big one set up in my laundry but the other day bought that exact one you have to take with me when I travel. That one is actually at Big W for only $39 (it's $50 every where else) and it's such a good steamer!
Secretly Sim thanks so much hun! The steamer is seriously a game changer! I couldn’t love without it😍 wow you got such a good deal, I know where to get it if anything happens to mine☺️ xx
Hi! As a hairdresser can I suggest you take some screenshots of her to your stylist for inspiration but let them create a custom look for you. Just because this looks great in her doesn’t mean it’s what’s best for you, and a skilled hairstylist can help you look your absolute best! You can find me on insta @hair_church for photos and formulas you can take to your hairstylist!
Found this video so useful. Totally agree with you on the 'One Statement' and 'Go up a size' points!! I am learning to dress classy. Thank u so much for sharing xx!! (oh btw could u pls comment below the fashion icons that you mentioned?)
Hi Isabelle, Great tips! I think the suggestion to wash hair less applies more to people with drier hair and people with more oily hair can wash more often. I may be wrong but I know for myself, my hair is drier so less frequent washing helps me keep the natural oils more. My friends with pilier hair can wash more OFTN and that seems fine for them. Great vid. xo, Sue
Enjoyed this channel I just discovered it. Your suggestion to spend on high end accessories to upgrade an outfit is really good advice and sensible. Loved the outfit you wore with-the Hermès belt - simplistic and looked lux too! Thank you! 🌷
Great tips, but I personally do not recommend talcum powder. I suggest corn starch - mixed in with a bit of cocoa for darker hair if you are into diy dry shampoo :)
New subscriber here! I love your style Isabelle, so clean, feminine and classy.. ah! May i ask where are your pearl earrings from? I am searching for this double sided one. So pretty. Keep going, your videos are wonderful and relaxing.
Great Tips! I agree with many points that you said and having a perfume is something that I did not believe, but nowadays it makes all the difference! I will totally use these tips for me now
I agree with the natural makeup look, but having acne and scarring I find it difficult to look pulled together without using foundation (although I much prefer the look and feel of not wearing it over creases and cakiness). If anyone has a suggestion for me I would appreciate it!
I am in 60's and still have small scarring from teenage acne. I think the scars can be improved greatly with laser surgery Samantha. I am not bothered at this stage, but when younger it really annoyed me. Powder is not good as it clogs them.
Keep wearing the foundation you love. But try setting it with a powder that has a bit of luminosity to it, in your non-oily areas. I use 2 powders: matte & oil-absorbent over my t-zone, & a luminous powder on other areas. (Lastly, a touch of highlighter on the tops of cheekbones, inner eye sockets, tip of nose, tip of chin, & center of forehead adds a look of moisture back to my face).
Hi hun! It is Rose Jewllery but I just found out they recently shut down their website :( I also buy my dainty jewellery from The Silver Collective. They also has good quality pieces at good prices! Xx
My tips are to keep your nails fairly short (yours look great). Those really long and pointy nails with glitter and rhinestones do not look classy on anyone! My other tip is to keep your scent VERY light. A ladies perfume should only be noticeable when you are close such as giving a hug or kiss on the cheek. If you can smell it across the table, it is NOT classy and would certainly give me a migraine.
You are so beautiful!! This video was so helpful!! Thank you 🥰 I’m going to be doing a Spring/Summer capsule wardrobe video on my channel next week so this was so so helpful in preparing for that video 🤗
Loved this video! Thank you! More examples would help like you did with the belt or from your own wardrobe. I haven’t checked out your other videos yet but I’d love to see example of simple classy outfits we can copy or easily style ourselves.
If you are using an adjective like classier or funnier you don't put the word more in front of it. You simply say classier with the er or more classy. It's one or the other not both. I don't mean this as an insult I assure you. I simply hear youtubers make it this mistake so much and it's teaching others to do the same thing. It's a bad habit and I feel like if I don't speak up I'm just encouraging it. I'm sorry if you take this the wrong way. I really don't mean it as an insult. You're video was very good and quite informative.
IKR!!! I am not sure why folks say more classier! You are right. Proper English should simply state "You will look classier." rather than "You will look more classier". Two other cringe worthy poor grammar mistakes are "Me personally..."! The correct grammar should be "Personally I don't prefer...". Another example is "Where is she/he at?" The correct English grammar should be, "Where is she/he?". The word "at" is a preposition in the English language and as such it should never be placed at the end of a sentence. Here in America the use of proper English with excellent grammar and syntax have become far more problematic, especially since the invention of texting, Rap music, etc. I recommend every classy lady buy and regularly refer to a basic dictionary and grammar book. One excellent book I recommend is entitled, 1,200 Words You Should Know to Sound Smart... Essential Words Every Sophisticated Person Should be Able to Use by Robert Bly. It can be purchased on Amazon or Barnes and Noble bookstore for less than $10.00. A well spoken and read women elevates her classy factor by far and is distinguished from the average indeed! I love your vlogs and am a new subscriber from America.♥️
Hi Isabelle! You look gorgeous, and these are some great tips! I typically wear my hair straight, but I feel like at times it's not very classy and I love how you do your hair! How do you do it, and what styling tool do you use?
Thank you so much hun! You are so sweet! I agree about the hair, I also wear it straight usually but a bit of loose curls is definitely what I prefer! I use the Babyliss pro 24cm curler with the clip and my hairdresser showed me how to curl with it! I usually don't take the curls all the way to the bottom so the curls are looser and the bottoms are relaxed! Hope this helps😍Xx
Pretty good tutorial. Can't get with powder in my hair. I have 4C hair which is natural ad virgin. I don’t worry about size, I focus on fit. I’m 5’ so that is important.
Hi there thanks for your all amazing tips I always have problems with ironing it just make so much easier with steaming But I still look for the necklace you wear the wed link you provide it doesn’t work can please send me a good Jewellery link so I can buy online thanks
Great style ideas and tips! I totally need to try the talcum powder-I wonder how it will work on curly hair? My hair is naturally curly and when it’s in curls I usually wash everyday because of all the product. Thank you!
June Bug thanks so much for watching hun!! I’m sure the talcum powder will still work well as you just apply it on the scalp and sleep on it! Then in the morning, just tap out any excess with your hands! Let me know how you go😍 xx
P.s. I meant the sunglasses you are wearing on the video thumbnail (with the Gucci belt) and also the sunglasses at 12:22. They both look great on you!
Great video! I agree with almost everything, but take some issue with the advice on scent. I have a powerful sense of smell, and suffer from sensitivity to most fragrances. I am not the only person with this kind of sensitivity, and believe fragrance sensitivity is on the rise. I would advise only wearing fragrance sparingly in your free time, and avoiding it altogether in the workplace or any environment shared with others over a period of hours. Especially avoid applying fragrance around others, including scented hand creams. It can be a miserable experience when my focus at work is interrupted by a fragrance induced headache or asthma attack. In fact, I would argue if your scent is noticeable in the workplace, it is a distraction, which is not professional. I agree natural ingredients tend to be better, but with the prevalence of allergies, minimizing your scent is the safer bet.
B. J. You have to fill good in what you where ! Size has nothing to do with classy that the first thing!!! I had a Aunt that was a large woman and she showed me as a little girl what class is ! You just pull your outfit together and it is mostly how to handle your self and confidence in yourself!!!! When you feel beautiful , guess what you are !! I have people tell me all the time where do you buy your things and that’s not what they see trust me , I own my space !!! And some what larger jewelry is what you should where ! I have people tell me all the time where do you buy your things and that’s not what they see trust me , I own my space !!! And some what larger jewelry is what you should where ! Good luck 👍 just take pride in your self and people will Notice that you are different but they won’t be able to put their finger on it.
Thank you for your advice, Paula. 😀 I will work on it.
It happens that I have the lv perfume at hand when u’re talking about it. 😂😆☺️
