95% of my wardrobe is consignment/thrift/clearance ( it may sound tragic) but it gives me a unique classic style and makes me feel like a million bucks.
Tragic? Noo! I have some thrifted pieces which are gorgeous, mainly nice office wear in amazing colours and it doesn't go in the trash. Thrifting is buying smart!
1..less is more 2. Wear flattering clothes 3. Invest in your grooming 4. Be clever with your bugdet shopping 5. Choose expensive colours 6. Add statement pieces (handbag, sunglasses, heels, hat) 7. Shop pre owned 8. Right combination (colours) 9. Know where to spend 10. Copy expensive look people
My grandmother taught me that if you have a great haircut, great skin (ie using good skin care) and a great red or French manicure you can even get caught answering the door and you still look good! I think clothing comes secondary to good personal hygiene.
I love the way you say "The ones with new money are the ones who will be judging you" I own a small store of high quality home linens and I make the same observation everyday. People with old money have such natural and effortless taste... as you said; Often dress in neutral colours, they are proud but never worried about trying to impress anyone. They just mind their own business and see people for who they are, not what they wear. They pay attention to proper fit, and their clothes are maintained, pressed, and appropriate for the season and the occasion. Thanks for saying it to over a million viewers! It truly is a breathe of fresh air on youtube!
@@hellooutthere8956 Hello Sharon! great question; yes they are... You can look up "Busatti" That's the name of the weaver. We are one of the last surviving small mills in Tuscany who produces ethically and sustainably. Vittoria Feragammo made a great video for us from her property called Il Borro so you can look up in the search box "Busatti il borro" it will take you to some great videos! :)
I’ve been brought up with money, we’re very different to the new money ppl. We find it funny how snooty new money ppl are, old money ppl are far more humble, and we have absolutely no need to show off either 😊😊
I can't believe my dad actually has been giving me this same advice for years but I kind of ignored it when I was younger. Now being in my mid-twenties, all this really speaks to me.
I know you get a lot of hate but please keep going because you have changed the game in my eyes. You advocate for power in the hands of women. Whatever women may say, they feel most confident when they look avant-garde. You advocate for modesty and simplicity and that’s what I love the most. It’s elegant in a society where women overthink their outfits and like to show off their skin and look too flashy. It’s stupid and it’s like advertising for men instead of living up to your own true virtues. Thank you. I needed to write all of this.
I actually tried out dressing the monochrome style - dressing all in one colour, something I've never done before. I received so many compliments! Highly recommend!
@@fmichaud4755 I used to think that dressing all in black suited me. But the only time I have ever received compliments for my clothes was when I wore colours. As I have brown skin, I wonder whether neutral shades would suit me. I might try buying more beige/brown clothing and see.
Before baby I used to be very lux. I feel like I've gotten frumpy and lost my true self. Its been 3 years and now have another baby. Your channel is really helping me get myself back.
@ 87jenbunny, sorry to hear that. It may not be that because you had babies or children, it may be that your partner is a narcissist. They are the only ones who make us loose /loss/forget what or the way you are or were. So look up for narcissist on Google or RUclips or even a dictionary
@@harrietdickson419 exactly this is true. Many women are with toxic and abusive men and don’t realize it until it is far too late. I was with one and he destroyed my self worth and my life. I became a shell of the person i once was and no longer even bothered to shower as much nevermind do my makeup. When you have a man you look up to who cherishes you life is different. Abuse completely shattered my self worth and my life and i didnt even realize i was abused until after I left
There’s something about this lady that is very charismatic. I didn’t think I would like her vids but couldn’t stop watching. Thanks for sharing and being so candid.
To be honest I veer away from the branded handbags or anything obviously labelled, I don’t want people to think I have money 😳 I like to be taken at face value. For everyday use I only have a good watch and a diamond engagement ring with a wedding band. I have a friend who does the same, you would only know she is wealthy if you visited her home. I think this type of humbleness is classy ☺️
@Leah Hayes I agree. In my experience and observations, the most wealthy people avoid overtly advertising their wealth with outwardly branded items most of the time. Same of tasteful people of any economic status. The tip on neutrals and more plain and simple, well made and tailored clothing is something I’ve seen as a norm in truly classic (not gauche) wardrobes, along with a few statement pieces.
I agree. I think people who wear huge labels all over are just advertising that they aren't used to money/luxury and don't know how to act. I'm not used to money either, but I have the sense not to telegraph that. 😂
Her channel isn't about decorating interiors. It's not her expertise. As some people go to the cardiologist and complain that the dr didn't treat their varicose veins.
Anna, I really want to thank you for your videos. I recently decided I was tired of looking like everyone else and wanted to be as classy as my beloved grandmother was. I shopped preowned, I went for classic, but high quality items. I press everything. I had my boyfriend buy me one gorgeous handbag, I bought chanel perfumes second hand, I kept my makeup classy, did my own nails and gave myself my own blow-outs. I am amazed at how people treat me now, they notice me! Women chat with me at the grocery store, men stumble to hold the door for me, and I recently got a job at a fine winery. My greatest secret- I live in a trailer park. So cheers beauty, to helping us create a beautiful life.
Most definitely. Ms. Bey always gives good advice and suggestions without EVER being condescending, snobby or talking down to anyone. She also seems down-to-earth because she's aware that everyone's body shapes and lives are indeed different. She does exude TRUE class, and she's also unafraid to publicly admit her own occasional mistakes and downfalls.
Where are they going dressed like that? Do they wear that everyday? Can you do a video on how to dress casual for an everyday look but still look expensive?
I definitely dress like that on regular days and if I’m going somewhere with my son I play down the shoes. It’s actually really fun to put together outfits.
@@theothertyrabanks7799 Yes, I enjoy getting dolled up but I usually only dress nice if I'm going somewhere. I guess I need to change the places I go. So do you hang with other women who dress nice as well? Or do you usually go out alone? If you are out with someone who doesn't dress as nice do you play it down?
@@Risha-ReneI, exactly! I understand dressing up if you work in an office, or are going out shopping with friends, going out to dinner, etc. However, I don't work in an office. Plus, 29 days out of 30 in a month I'm not doing fun or fancy things. Instead, when I'm at my best I'm with a bunch of kids or taking care of my animals, cleaning, cooking, running errands, and just generally getting things done in jeans and a sweater or a t-shirt with my hair up in a messy bun or ponytail. Unfortunately, most days, I suffer with chronic pain and I'm exhausted and/or visiting medical professionals. I'd love to know what or if there are nicer (and simple) wardrobe choices for casual or housework-filled days. Is that a thing?
Every time I watch these videos, I feel more empowered to take control of my appearance and my future, not allowing past elegance mistakes to define me. Thank you, Anna!
KittySwrive I am too!! I am also really interested in what the other women have to say about being marginalized as a women of color. I think one of the biggest problems in our country right now is Caucasian women are totally in the dark about what ya’ll go through. I definitely don’t know and would love to know more. I love the way she presented herself with class, dignity and self control. I was able to hear what she had to say became s of it!
I've turned 26 and I feel that it is time to let go my old style and this is video helps me a lot because I want to achieve a more sophisticated and elegant look. Thank you for making this video :)
Me too! I'm 25 and went through a kind of rebellious phase with alternative fashion like grunge, gothic and even kawaii, but I'm overwhelmed. I'm looking for a change now, and I'm starting to feel better with this more minimalist mindset and style. Maybe I'm spending more with every fashion item, but I'm definitely buying less things, and I'm relieved. I'm investing in better quality, and it feels amazing as well.
You can find Zara and higher quality classic style clothes on Poshmark and Thredup. Many of the items are used ("pre-owned" or "pre-loved".). There is a risk that some people will sell you stinky clothes but you will learn how to avoid this. Also, many online thrift/ consignment shops also sell new and never been worn clothes. 🌺
You can go for brands like crimson club, Louis Philippe , and some local brands they give you same kind of quality over an affordable price also I don't trust online shopping for clothes I directly go to the stores and buy my clothing
A friend of mine gave me some great advice. She said that every time you leave the house, dress like you're going to bump into your future husband. That doesn't mean looking like you're going to a cocktail party, but rather to make the extra effort in choosing fabrics, and doing basic makeup and hair. Sweats and a pony tail are not going to get you where you want to go, unless you're looking to marry Homer Simpson.
I agree with almost everything you said, although I can assure you can actually blend in a ponytail into a classy look :) I have very long hair and I love it but when I wear a thick coat leaving my hair down makes the look too heavy, while putting it in a clean ponytail lifts that weight off my shoulders and makes the whole outfit look more polished! :))
Why can’t ladies just dress for themselves? Tbh I do my makeup and hair everyday except for some rare days and I do it for myself because I love myself and want to represent it in the best way possible not to impress a future husband 😂 I mean nothing is wrong with that but i don’t see a lot of girls doing things for themselves and not others
Rawan 95 Agreed!!! The real issue is that so many people think we should dress for a man, we need to be teaching girls that they should dress for themselves, however they want to
Proud Zionist same advice from one of my mom’s friend. She also said “dress like you’re going to meet your future husband or like you’re going to see your ex and his girlfriend on your way.” He has to see who he lost and his new girlfriend will feel like she need to be more! ;)
Decades ago I was a single working mom of three daughters on a very tight budget. I dressed very well though thanks to purchasing expensive clothing at thrift shops in a rich neighbourhood. My favourite work outfit was a magenta pant suit which I tailored to fit my figure then added matching bake light and pewter vintage buttons I already owned to the jacket. That $2.00 outfit was so transformed and was so flattering.
I honestly have almost my entire wardrobe thrifted and almost every time I meet with friends or so they keep asking where do I get my clothes, where did you find that blouse/bag/boots etc. It's all about knowing what is suitable for your body shape, attitude and finding clothes made from good and quality materials. It also matters to have "an eye for fashion" but as you said, these days we can inspire from others and we don't have to build up some unique style or something
I’m 24 and I struggle between wanting my style to be chic and sophisticated but also 90s/ millennial style. Trying to find a balance and one piece that always gets me is a coat/jackets.
Michaela Saunders I think you can be both. Dress for the occasion. I always go with my mood. I’m sort of inbetween those styles except for my work doesn’t require chic/sophisticated outfits. I can only wear that on the weekends if I really feel like it. Unless I can move up in the job front, now I’m sort of stuck in the millennial style 😅
I'm on the same vote with you on in between styles and you should go with your mood and do what makes you feel happy and do what makes you feel best on that day
I rarely comment on RUclips videos. I discovered you after watching this morning. I’m already married with a newborn and just want to look and feel neat, tidy and elegant. I like the fact you use images of black women as well. The advice you gave is invaluable especially on neutral natural colours and statement pieces. Thank you so much for sharing. I now understand what to buy x
Ashley Victoria you missed the point of her comment. She is talking about the diversity of the models in the pictures used in the vid to illustrate her points.
I love the way you carry and conduct yourself. You don't speak in the negative but you speak in the positive.. Not putting one down to uplift another. I also love that you incorporated women of color in your examples. You are all together classy. Official subscriber. Excellent examples. Thank you!
As a retired wardrobe stylist, it can be very difficult to determine what looks "classy" on ourselves. That is why actresses, etc hire someone to do this. Your suggestions are spot on. In the US stores such as Nordstrom may still offer this service at no charge. But a good honest friend, with the taste you are trying to emulate, can be a big help. Or a friend who wants to learn this skill with you. And yes, it's all about the fabric. But that must be learned. Go to a store where the high end designer clothes are and actually touch the fabrics to learn. Eventually one will be able to just visually skim the racks at a thrift store and pick out the hidden gems at a glance. Cashmere, silk...yummm....they just feel good to touch.
This black-white talk is tiring already, IS HUMAN,the colour doesn't matter, stop acting like is a surprise, she is a classy gorgeous woman,of course she was featured
@@laalchemist1017 is really hard nowadays isn't it? Black people are not opressed anymore, there are still some racist people but generalising is not ok,stop victimising, black women are gorgeous and every normal person knows it,seeing one in a video shouldn't surprise anyone
I am on a old navy, Walmart budget. I CAN find simple looks that will fit into what this video is saying. I think the people who are making the harsh comments need to open their minds a little bit.
please show me where u shop real leather handbags is old navy or walmart, I'd love to have a real leather bag on old navy budget. her saying "beauty isn't cheap, you have to invest" goes kind of sideways with "on the budget" idea of the video haha
Shop at better stores during sales. I learned a long time ago that better stores have great sales. You'll pay the same price but you'll have something that's 4 times the quality. Also, check ebay frequently for new quality leather bags. I buy my Coach bags that way. $50 for a brand new leather Coach purse that I'll have for many years. If you don't like Coach, look for other makers. But you get the idea. Also, go looking in the best stores to train your eye to #1. color (upper-class colors are often noticeably different than lower class colors); #2. styles; #3. fabric. Then duplicate what you learn at the lower price points.
Another quick tip for the working girl who shops at stores like Zara, Soma, etc. Schedule a weekday off from work when the stores are basically empty. The things are neatly placed on racks, and you have more time to look slowly and try on slowly. You won’t feel so rushed, no crowds and the workers will help you. Lastly, only a few select pieces from those stores, not your whole wardrobe. Love, love this video!
Almetra Briggs Thanks for sharing. This is my style of shopping. I purposely go right before the store closes for this reason. You can take your time, not feel rush and try on as many outfits as you want. It even makes me feel rich as if the entire store was shut down for me to shop. Love it 😊
Almetra Briggs Nice to hear you like to be a woman knowing how women are exploited and dominated by men !! Thank you it makes me meditate ... despite disadvantage you can still be happy ( to be considered as positive law and attitude in life )
This is now my favorite channel. From a child growing up I believed simplicity is elegance. Less is best. Thank God that I found you to speaks to my taste and the whole woman. Thank you from Nassau, The Bahamas.😁
some of these comments are really uncalled for and rude, if you are not looking for advice on how to improve the the way you and others view you as a person, then do not watch the video(not being mean just a fact)! why do people think they have to spread negative behavior)? My grandma taught me a phrase when dressing me to go out, “Always take pride when you go out and your light will never hide, because if you look like trash you will treated like trash and no one wants to be trash because, trash always gets thrown away! Have pride and demand respect and dressing your best everyday, putting your best face forward is not a upper class wealthy thing, it is a self recognition and self pride-It is telling the world "I am fabulous with out saying a word!" So be nice to this lady she is trying to help you find your inner strength and beauty.
Thank you for including women of color in your examples, it is good to know that you think that we can be beautiful too. Thank you for this video because your approach is so eloquent.
JannatC we are, but to be honest, we’re rarely thought of when someone mentions wealth or elegance. Google image search “elegant” or “beautiful” and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
Learn to sew so you can do simple tailoring yourself. A good quality item in the second hand shop might only need a dart or an seam adjustment to look like a designer piece on you.
one of the biggest thing is NAILS! girls with super long tacky nails, or manicure that are chipped, or outgrown. Get a manicure every 10 days, and keep it tasteful and timeless, NOT TRENDY
In my world a man's opinion was not the only opinion that mattered. I agree about nails- no polish on clean hands is far better than a bad manicure or chipped nails.
I believe it is. I think a successful, affluent lady (probably old money) would never be caught dead wearing those hideous logo filled fendi and gucci trash
old money don't have designer labels on their things. it may be designer, but its to be assumed that it would be expensive. you don't want to advertise "i spent x amount of dollars on this, look at me and how expensive i am"
Hello Anna, I'm a Filipino from the Philippines, I'm not rich but then I'm working as a manager. I find your videos very very helpful... And I like you a lot.
Stay away from too much polyester, though. Pagsisisihan mo ang init at pawis dala ng mga plastic fabrics na ito. Asim is not elegant. Kahit aircon ang office niyo, grabe makapawis sa kili kili yang mga polyester.
Anna, I’m Mexican and my father doesn’t understand English so I translate to him most of your videos. He loves the way you look so classy to him and he says is cause your class come from inside. My mom thinks the same but she added that you always look so elegant and polish and elegant in your videos. And about me, well, I think you are a very good adviser, has such a nice voice and has class from inside to outside. Such a pleasure to learn a lot of good things
Very good tips. I noticed a lot of celebrity women like Jennifer Aniston and Halle Berry always wear simple and neutral colors when they're photographed by the paparazzi. During my tacky years, I always wondered why they dress so simple and they had all this money. Lol
Jennifer now dresses in neutral because Angelina Jolie dresses like that. All neutral colors. If you look at older pictures of Jennifer she dressed tacky.
I struggle with trying to make my outfit elegant when it comes to prints. I love prints... Animal, floral Etc. and sometimes I feel like my bias makes me overlook whether my look is elegant or not. So please make a video on how to wear prints elegantly! Thank you Anna!
I do agree most of the points. However, I don't agree with wearing clothes that are in neutral colors most of the time in order to look expensive. You can wear it everyday in an office, but for going out it would be great to wear something you really love to wear, something colorful or interesting in patterns, it would be more fun than wearing mostly in neutral colors.
I totally agree with you. I love neutrals, but in my opinion, a touch of colour or a particular pattern means personality. All neutral in my opinion is the style of who cannot afford to be elegant with something original (beautiful colours or pattern). In Italy, you often see people dressed in black at a wedding, because 'black is always elegant' but in this case I find it sad.
Oh my gosh it seems really stressful to be around rich people! I like this style advice though. I think it will work well for my capsule wardrobe project.
Yeah sure. I can't believe or imagine spending 100s for a leather handbag to look great to someone who might or will pay attention. What value would this add to my life? I have leather bags preowned and like new but to spend 100s...seriously to look good to someone else's eyes??? I rather look good for my kindness, empathy, care and welcoming and cooking delicious food for others...I couldn't care less about a handbag....
balayage is beautiful and low maintenance so maybe if they can not keep up with full foil highlights or all over blonde... consider balayage. just make sure the hairstylist is great with blondes first. look at their IG, see the work they have done so you have proof that they are really good at what they do

Polina Racheeva I am Romanian and I have this “Kim Kardashian look”(not kidding I actually look like her-I had no surgeries I am 16,but I really do look like her in her teen years) and I look good in red and also dark green
Me too! I found these off-brand Italian leather shoes at Marshall’s or TJ Maxx that are Chanel look-alikes, Navy/beige…I love them. They’re also totally comfortable and will always be in style.
High Street items that I love but I know will not stand the test of time, I simply get replicated. I take them to a Tailor/Seamstress and ask them to make me the same thing in a better fabric. I had my own silk labels made that I ask them put inside the neck/collar. I also sometimes draw/sketch something that I want but cannot find, and again ask someone to make it for me with my own label. I am not great with a sewing machine so I prefer it is done properly. I don't make a habit of it as it can be pricey to get things tailor-made, but when I have a bee in my bonnet about something I really, really want, I pull the trigger. I love that you promote other women too Anna......quite often there is a huge snobbery amongst women who try to compete against each other. Just subscribed, by the way!
@@lilylebowsky5908 Not sure I understand what you mean? It varies on the item you want replicated, the material used, the price the Tailor charges, etc. As I said, I don't make a habit of it as it can be very pricey. I only do this when I am 100% sure that I really will wear this item for years to come. Otherwise, forget it. I had a Chanel black jacket replicated: the Tailor charged $350 to make the jacket and I had to source my own fabric and lining on top of that. It ended up costing me around $900 in total....Australian Dollars, that is. The jacket is beautiful but it did end up costing a lot. The exact same model by Chanel was priced at $7,000 at that time. Labels on the other hand, you can get printed on Etsy for around $10. Hope this helps.
Splurging on well-made shoes to me makes a huge difference to a wardrobe. But we can actually get some good looking Italian shoes at Everlane that will pull everyday outfits together when the outfit items might cost a bit less. If someone can afford Chanel flats- go for it, take great care of them and maintain a classic item that will pull together cheaper outfits.
I saw some beautiful dupes for Chanel espridrilles the other day at TJMaxx, but were not my size! I wanted them so bad. Looked exactly like the real deal without the brand logo. Instead it had a double O and know one would know it was so close to the real thing!

Love your channel and your class A advice. We need more elegance and feminine details that draw the right attractiveness we as women deserve.
You touched on a lot of points that my mother shared with me or I learned along the way. People always assume I spend crazy money for clothes, shoes, handbags, jewelry, and other accessories. I do splurge as my budget permits but that’s the exception and not the rule. My mom always shopped the high end stores but she got the sales or shopped the bargain basement. Back then a lot of places had lay a way and she was able to get more expensive items buy paying installments until she could pay it off without using credit cards and paying interest. My mom also shopped thrift and consignment stores. My mom also elevated her look with well made wigs, scarves, hats, handbags, etc. Not everything she bought was designer but everything she bought was well made and a number of pieces had a story to tell. Having something that has history and/or a story opens up conversation and allows you to share while encouraging others to share as well. I shop the way my mom does and I have found places that still do lay a way, flex pay, easy pay, etc. I use the shopping apps like Poshmark and Wish(yes Wish! They have surprising finds) I look for unusual places to shop like farm/fleet stores, even some high end grocery/gourmet stores for fashion items, beauty supply stores, etc. I believe in good solid basic pieces and unusual elements that put a personal stamp on it. The key is to be balanced and stick to the tenants of classic fashion. Having a classy look is a more cost effective look because the basic elements never go out of style and you get an elegant look at any age that always makes you look thoughtfully put together.
This is such a great comment. My mom sounds like yours. And I have ordered some jewelry off of wish that blew me away. It looks real. I mean expensive real. People will admire some and asked where I got it, was it an heirloom etc...and I'll always be honest and tell them wish, and it would amaze them!
Watched this first time in 2020. Made some changes to my wardrobe. Now watching it again in 2021, learnt something I still haven't picked up on first time round. Looking back a year feeling really proud of my progress though. Thank you, Anna!
Im binge watching your videos and a lot of your advice is the same advice my grandmother gave me. She was an elegant, classy, old school. When she was young her family was wealthy so it all makes sense to me too. So so elegant even well into her 80s. She has always been goals.
I'm 5' 2", and thicker in the middle than I would like to be. Could you do a video on how to look expensive for us ladies that don't have the perfect figure.
After the first two days, it seems tiring, so my question is how do you stay motivated to keep looking expensive and classy till it becomes second nature? 😘love from a college girl trying not to be a frump!! ❤❤
Dee-Dees World fill your entire wardrobe with only classy looking pieces that go very well together so you'll never have to depend on yourself for motivation. For a couple of years now, I've been on a massive warpath with my wardrobe, any ill fitting, unflattering, non-classy thing is OUT or on its way. When I'm tired and can't be bothered it doesn't show in my outfit.
I agree with MimAestetic , and I also suggest planning your outfits for the whole week on Sundays while you have a mask on or are polishing your nails. It’s gonna make you look forward to stepping out during the week and by the fourth week it’s going to seem more like a routine. Good luck.
Slowly weed out clothes that aren’t elegant and chic. Start only buying high quality elegant and feminine clothing, purses and jewelry. After awhile you’ll be forced to dress expensively because you don’t have a lot a frumpy clothing.
I love this youtube account :) In my opinion, people who can´t afford to buy expensive (or maybe not so expensive) clothes items and still manage to look elegant are the ones who really own the style. It's easy to buy expensive clothes and look amazing but investing little amount of money and still look elegant and classy is art.
Whenever you're looking to buy an overcoat on a limited budget, scrunch the fabric with your hand. If the fabric creases easily and stays creased, forget it. And that goes for all clothing. Always keep your shoes clean, healed and in good condition. Dressing starts from the feet up.
Ah, so I am one of those people who does have a very unique sense of style. My mother was a flight attendant and my grandmother was a military wife and quite the seamstress, so I grew up surrounded by high-quality tailored clothing in styles from all over the world, growing up. And then I lived in India for a couple years. And of course, I was inspired by historical fashion (Chinese, especially) and costume design. The synthesis of these influences with Things I Learned From Imitating Grace Kelley has led to an aesthetic that takes a lot of those influences and pares them down into clean, soft, simple lines-monochromatic in clear but muted tones, like watercolors or sea glass; flowing expanses of fabric mixed with soft, exquisitely tailored pieces featuring unusual princess seams. I need to know how to find clothiers and dressmaker who are skilled enough to take a *picture* or an *idea* and turn it into tailored clothing. And in this day and age, when having a personal modiste is a thing of the past, I really don’t know where to look. That’s fairly specific, but I think finding a tailor and figuring out what they are capable of is helpful for anyone who wants to take it a notch above just getting their clothes fitted for their height or body shape.
🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙 Tip 5 Choose expensive COLOURS! Khaki ! Navy blue ! White! Black ! Brown ! Grey! Military green... RED Also WEAR ALL IN ONE COLOURS, monochromes etc Not cheap once like neon colours, candy pink ... etc Tip 9️⃣ Spend wisely ! 80/20 rule ! Spend on things u can wear often so for that “ invent on NEUTRAL colours”
Expensive colors depend on the culture, for example in Miami, neon colors are always hot. Being a lady means something else depending on the time and location
Actually, in Russia khaki and military green are not in the range of expensive colors, but complex colors like teal, emerald green, coral and purple are
My mother was effortlessly classy and elegant. She knew what looked good on her and dressed accordingly, always dressing it up with simple but beautiful jewellery and handbag and shoes. Her nails were always manicured and her hair done everyday. She didn’t wear a lot of make up, a little mascara and a good lipstick. I grew up and rebelled against this. I was ‘into’ the grunge scene. I still wear very casual clothes now at 47, however I now want to change my image as my current look no longer fells right. My wonderful mother passed away 6 years ago and I miss her terribly. Thank you for your advice! I’m ready to level up now ❤

You are absolutely right.

Leah Hayes I think using bags with the brand names in obvious view is so tacky, as well as providing free advertising.

Try shopping their sale items! I found some good pieces like dresses, pants, and tops for less than $25
You can go for brands like crimson club, Louis Philippe , and some local brands they give you same kind of quality over an affordable price also I don't trust online shopping for clothes I directly go to the stores and buy my clothing

2$ - wow! That's fascinating. Thrift shopping is a great way to get something unique, love your story!

Working girl - means a 'lady of the night' , they can afford to shop for anything they want...
Almetra Briggs Thanks for sharing. This is my style of shopping. I purposely go right before the store closes for this reason. You can take your time, not feel rush and try on as many outfits as you want. It even makes me feel rich as if the entire store was shut down for me to shop. Love it 😊

She keeps it 100!!!! On all her videos and she knows the trends ! She definitely stays up on things, and yet will teach you how to elegant.
Simplicity is genius and it always looks classy.
Anna, can you please do a makeup tutorials of the do's and don't of makeup, also another one on your beauty secrets? xx
Oh my gosh it seems really stressful to be around rich people!
I like this style advice though. I think it will work well for my capsule wardrobe project.
"Buy yourself a new elegant leather handbag."
Me: Okay, done ;)
Even if she polarizes, I think her tips are very interesting and worth considering.
Me too. I took this as permission to go to Poshmark and get a pre owned Chanel.

Grooming includes dealing with the root regrowth of our hair...nothing cheapens a look more than dark/black roots on a blonde (for instance).
Fanciful Roux works great to blend grays if you can't get to hair .salon
I only dye my hair a color close to my own color. Helps a lot with regrowth.
Agree. I’m a slave to my roots.
balayage is beautiful and low maintenance so maybe if they can not keep up with full foil highlights or all over blonde... consider balayage. just make sure the hairstylist is great with blondes first. look at their IG, see the work they have done so you have proof that they are really good at what they do
Zara is expensive in my country 😂
😂😂
hiba mohamed same
I thought the clothes looked & felt cheap at Zara. Don’t see what the big deal about that place is.
India has a few American stores that are really cheap in America but Indians think they are high end because they are American. Same thing with McDonalds 😒
@@sagek7949 same in middle east.. so stupid...brands that are famous in the west/abroad for mainly >>being cheap! , become expensive here just for being foreign.
even Furniture,.. ikea is famous abroad for being affordable, here it's a foreign expensive brand
Natasha from sex and the city was exactly the type of woman you described.. Big still cheated on her with tacky Carrie.
He tacky too smh
Big was a jackass. She was lucky she lost him so fast.
It’s fiction
Natasha was a stick figure with no soul. lol
Carrie was funny and they were both smokers, they liked each other, chemistry & understanding. But they were both kinda jerks
I absolutely love the "Keep It Simple" rule. You don't have to be extravagant with your style in order to look expensive. Thank you, Anna! ❤️
I would love a video on how to look classy and elegant during the summer. I live in a very hot humid location and struggling to find models who wear classy summer outfits that include shorts and tops.
Ha ha and I want to look classy but keep warm in a cold place. Warm elegant coats are very expensive, and you need all these layers of STUFF
I bet you can make a home business that allows you to go to clients home to personally inform the ladies on thire wardrobe and makeup.
I love red, I'm black and red looks really good on me. Also poshmark is a great place to find staple items gently used
Actually, black women (and dark Latinas) pull off bright colours very well
Poshmark is great but it also has a lot of fake products
Polina Racheeva I am Romanian and I have this “Kim Kardashian look”(not kidding I actually look like her-I had no surgeries I am 16,but I really do look like her in her teen years) and I look good in red and also dark green
Rihanna Rih I think everyone has a different shade of red that suits them.
I love wearing navy and camel colour together I think it look expensive especially if the clothing is Chanel inspired e.g has a contrasting trim.
JayJay Tailor ive always wanted this but at what cost?
Yep. Never skimp on the shoes or purses.
Drea East Coast yes!
I admire you. I respect you specially after you used pictures of black models. An Arab man. Thank yuh. Stay blessed.
Eccentric Eccentriq I didn’t spot the Arab man
GG T87 loool ohhh I was like “what Arab man” being an Arab myself, I was quite surprised by the idea of not spotting “one of my own”. Anyway thanks for clarifying.
Your comment made me smile.
@@bluebell8557 "one of my own" haha you're so cute 😍😂

I love your channel so much! We have lost the art of being a lady and classy. Keep up the good work😊💕🙏
Can u do a whole video on proper classy grooming?
It's all about having an amazing tailor & excellent posture
100%%%%%^
Canadian how can I fix my posture
Posture - discipline and exercise , should be easy .
Ivy - I’m going to try yoga to correct my posture.
Simplicity in my clothing is not boring as some of my friends feel ,but in my opinion it puts more emphasis on me. My smile, personality and heart stands out and this to me is exspensive now a days! Love your channel and your class A advice. We need more elegance and feminine details that draw the right attractiveness we as women deserve.
My mom taught me all this. Love it.♥️♥️♥️
When Barbara Corcoran started in real estate, she had a really expensive coat with regular clothes underneath.
Edwina Criear this! Consignment is life. So many designer steals.
I get what this lady is saying but life is too short to wear beige. Speakimg from the Caribbean.
Watched this first time in 2020. Made some changes to my wardrobe. Now watching it again in 2021, learnt something I still haven't picked up on first time round. Looking back a year feeling really proud of my progress though. Thank you, Anna!
Damn. Just sayin, this gotta be the best sugar baby prep teaching. Dont get me wrong, im loving everything she say
Im binge watching your videos and a lot of your advice is the same advice my grandmother gave me. She was an elegant, classy, old school. When she was young her family was wealthy so it all makes sense to me too. So so elegant even well into her 80s. She has always been goals.
Anna is like a mother I never had! She really taught me many things.. And I think she helped me find my femininity! I live her
I'm 5' 2", and thicker in the middle than I would like to be. Could you do a video on how to look expensive for us ladies that don't have the perfect figure.
After the first two days, it seems tiring, so my question is how do you stay motivated to keep looking expensive and classy till it becomes second nature? 😘love from a college girl trying not to be a frump!! ❤❤
Dee-Dees World discipline. you're worth it. In the short & long term you'll feel good.
Good luck.
Incorporate things one at a time
Slowly weed out clothes that aren’t elegant and chic. Start only buying high quality elegant and feminine clothing, purses and jewelry. After awhile you’ll be forced to dress expensively because you don’t have a lot a frumpy clothing.
When Zara is too expensive for you and you wait sales to buy from there 😅
😄😄 haha!

Tip 5 Choose expensive COLOURS!
Khaki ! Navy blue ! White! Black ! Brown ! Grey! Military green... RED
Also WEAR ALL IN ONE COLOURS, monochromes etc
Not cheap once like neon colours, candy pink ... etc
Tip 9️⃣ Spend wisely ! 80/20 rule ! Spend on things u can wear often so for that “ invent on NEUTRAL colours”
Expensive colors depend on the culture, for example in Miami, neon colors are always hot. Being a lady means something else depending on the time and location
Actually, in Russia khaki and military green are not in the range of expensive colors, but complex colors like teal, emerald green, coral and purple are
Oh, and leopard/tiger print is considered tacky
Colors found in nature. Nature has some bright colors
