You can actually put the Equinox in relearn mode without using a scan tool in most cases. After scrolling through the Info menu to the Tire Pressure display, press and hold the Select (check mark) button on the steering wheel DIC controls until the horn honks twice.
Other than that, good job on the TPMS repair.

Very informative Im currently having this same problem that’s why I typed it in to RUclips. Im in Texas how much should a shop charge my to replace the sensor? I buying the sensor myself does it have to be the OEM or can it be a cheaper version?

You can buy aftermarket they will work. I think 0.5 to 1 hour to install and program the sensor. I recommend a Schrader 33500 for any aftermarket alternative, but you need to confirm it compatible with your exact vehicle. Thanks for watching.
