- In this final video at the Porcupine Freedom Festival, or PorcFest, I finish up bartering and trading with silver. I buy goods and services with only silver rounds, silver coins, silver pours, and other silver items. Do people like my 90% silver? Would they rather have silver eagles or silver bars? Does it even matter?? Silver Dave from Local Silver Mint and I go from vender to vender offering up silver for their wares. Dave uses his 1/10-ounce silver rounds made by his silver mint, and I try as many silver coins and rounds as I can. The results were AMAZING! I was truly shocked by what silver people wanted and how willing they were to barter with silver. Dave also brings his Local Silver Mint coin shop "on the road" to sell silver to eager silver stackers! I got the melter and I have a grocery bag full of jewelry I've accumulated I don't have tike to melt but also I started to go through what I have and some of it is very valuable I want to sell I have some david yurmon. And a set of parker pens in the wrapper still I found someone selling them on ebay for 600. My question is how would you go about selling this stuff if you were me I work 6 days a week I'm having major financial problems like everyone else hoe do I go about getting the most for what I have

Awesome! I was 9 when my family went to Catalina Island. I saw a 10 oz silver bar at an Avalon coin shop. I was hooked, too. Still stacking 49 years later! This kid is great! Keep it going!

Yankee... FUN time!!! Thanks for taking us along. Like Silver Dave's 1/10th TOZ rounds. But, LOVE his side arm even more. :) Packin' some "HEAT" to keep the innocent bystanders (and you and him) protected from any no-notice stupidity. I volunteered at my church to be on the Security Detail for 3 1/2 years. Carried a Springfield Armory XDS-45 and a backup Ruger 9MM LC9. Thankfully, NEVER had to un-holster either of them. Keep stackin'... :)

I'm really looking forward to more "bartering with silver" videos. I enjoyed these very much, but I believe that the deck was stacked slightly in your favor. What was really encouraging about the series is that it shows that there truly are people and groups that understand what real money is. Now, take your experiment into the real world, let Dave stay home and see how it works out. It might even be a good idea to take the bartering to a different state and find out how it works.
I can't get behind the 25% markup in fractional tenths. I don't believe an LCS would give much over spot for them.
Personally, I'm very cautious purchasing them. Precious metals on the whole are becoming more difficult for the average man to obtain. So it's logical to assume fractional pieces like tenths and quarters will become more produced, driving down the premium (Potentially).
I suspect gold fractional premiums will drop too over the years.
Personally, I plan to make my own very nice fractionals. Might even make it a side gig to see how interested people are, and potentially drive down the big guys premiums. We'll see lol

Seems silly to me when there’s already enough junk silver in fractions between Canadian and American coinage. Sure you might loose a bit having to over pay in dimes. But I doubt it will be 25%

That's an interesting event. Not sure its on my list yet, but certainly on my radar.
Not trying to come off as a troll, but the problem with the pizza exchange is the valuation of the 1/10 oz silver. Sure with premium it could be worth the $20 as he had suggested, but as far as melt, not even close. This is the problem when bartering PM’s for goods when both parties try to find a USD common point to transact but the PM owners likely won’t transact on a melt price, but more of a retail price with a premium tied into it. One of the points in transacting with sound money is for stability. If for example the pizza business took a half ounce as $20 when spot was likely around $30 at time of filming, they are receiving an inflated value, and when they go to turn that around to barter for the supplies to make the pizza, they may not get the $20 valuation. People shouldn’t lose money that quickly when transacting in sound money.
I stack silver to barter with during a SHTF scenario when goods and service will be PRICED in ounces…not fiat dollars. This was only a proof-of-concept this side of that scenario.

Events like the Brimfield Mass. flea market (going on now) and the Madison Bouckville antique week (Aug 12-18) that has over 2000 dealers are good places to barter and meet people of like-mind.

Seeing the thin pieces of paper trading for real hard cash is really an eye opener. The paper has an ever-decreasing shelf life / value. Silver Dave is so nice to do that trade!

I already live in the #2 state and now it only makes sense to move to The #1 state and establish dual citizenship between the 2 states. Now have food investment idea/solution. I also have a lot of researching and learning so when it's time for me pounce I'll be ready. I'll have a better chance of hanging out face to face with my mentor Richards. Wishful maybe, but not doubtful.

I retired a month ago and have spent the last month researching where I am going to live out my time left here on earth. I had every intention of moving out west. Every crash/collapse brings with it an equivalent market chance if you are early informed and equipped, I've seen folks amass up to $1m amid economy crisis, and even pull it off easily in favorable conditions. Unequivocally, the collapse is getting somebody somewhere rich

I have been to Little Zoe's in Keene.
I bought 2 Two-Topping Pies for 13 Goldbacks.
I first heard about Porc Fest from her.
She is located at the Center at Keene on the Gilbo Ave side.
The building is an Old Train Depot where a Roster of 51 Locomotives were kept when the Cheshire Railroad was in Service.
Little Zoe's Storefront is one of the Locomotive's Bays that fed out onto the Turntable.
Cheshire County has 3 Rail-trails that you can hike.
One of them goes straight through my Parent's Property.
All of them meet at said Train Depot.
i do like daves 1/10 rounds in the tubes, i do not like junk silver . i simply cant keep track of whats actually in it. we will be picking up some of his 3.5 oz tubes

Apparently people don't realize they can buy actual silver dimes for 1/2 the price of those 1/10th oz rounds. But hey if I could get 57 an ounce for my silver I would unload it up there all day long. If you want to barter with me I am giving you spot for whatever silver you want to trade me. Possibly 1 or 2 bucks over but definitely not 26 bucks over. LOL.
