Did he communicate the gold's whereabouts before his death? The questions are many, but you are NOT gonna want to miss these two fortunate couples' story about a discovery of a lifetime!

#Gold #GoldHoard #SilverBars
A lot of envy showing in these comments. It is possible for the uncle to have buried the gold, dug it up, and then stored it in the attic and basement at different times. Or perhaps his brother, their father, stored it in his basement after he recovered the gold. So many possibilities. Family stories often have various versions, when my extended family gets together it interesting to hear the different perspectives of events from the past.
These sisters seemed amazed and grateful for the gift that was bestowed to them. Their uncle made the effort to make sure it was found by family. Doing an asset exchange of some of the gold for a cabin that their family will use sounds like diversification. The other sister said she needed money, how many stackers use their gold as savings?
My only regret it I would have loved to see a video of the original hoard before their father split it up! 😂😂
Spot on, Silver Chickadee.
Why do they have to call him a miser? Maybe he wasn’t into wasting money. You’re receiving a fortune, show some respect.
They sound like typical boomer fucks
Exactly
Agree. He also had more foresight and wisdom than they have, they still do not fully comprehend what is ahead of them.
@@paulbunyon6324 Wealth is meant to be utilized. It's not meant to be buried and nearly forgotten. It's like the parable of the talents. The 3rd servant buried the money (talents were a measure of money, 1 talent was ~26kg of silver) and was punished for not making use of it.
Precious metals are a hedge against inflation. They don't really change in buying power, the fiat money just loses buying power over time. Stacking gold long term without a plan to utilize that wealth is wasteful. It doesn't not compound in value like real investments do. It just holds value.
Will they waste it on stupid things and vanities? Probably. So what was the point of him living like a miser just to have his money squandered without it actually growing or doing anything with it? It's incredibly dumb.
@@joseph1150 Obviously you and the uncle have different opinions on personal economy. You seem to have a need to grow your net worth on paper. The uncle seemed to have a need to make sure that the life he had would not be altered because of a financial situation. Plus gold is way more handy to hide than dollars. Both from friends/family and the government. Your two most likely suspects of destroying your financials.
I don't quite understand your logic of it being dumb not spending money. If spending money on material things you do not need or want does not give you satisfaction, why would you spend? You could buy properties but then you have to pay taxes and deal with tenants to maximize your investment and who needs that kind of stress in their life when you can walk out on your porch and have a nice cup of coffee instead and enjoy the sun knowing the gold shines bright in it's hiding spot?
Net worth means nothing when interest rates go up unless you are on a level where you can weather the storm.
My mother and father left me gold and silver when they died. Miss you both very much. And I’ve added to my stack for my kids when I’m gone.
Generational wealth, forward thinking relatives are a blessing to us all.got a new grandson, kids rich and doesnt even know it.

I hope to leave my daughter and niece what I have...the general location of my tragic boating accident.
Is the stock market actually getting better or is this the regular end of year market manipulation to entice new investors, I'm currently sitting on an inheritance of 300k and i'm wondering do I invest in stocks or Gold?
Buy gold, govt has failed us
Gold is a great investment and a good bet against the devaluating dollar, been holding some for awhile now, I’m grateful my fin-planner momentous changes in the market are lightening quick, cos who know how much losses I would’ve had by now.

I have used the same money manager for close to 10 years. We got in fairly early with a modest amount of money. Inflation has eaten away at the nest egg but we are lucky to have Monica look after it diligently like she has done the past 8 years.
this is incredible! how can I vet your advisr, mind sharing info, ifyou please?
The reason the gold bars were buried and then hidden in the attic it's to keep the stash safe and hidden away from them two ladies.
Quite possibly. Good thing the uncle only alerted the uncle to this stash.
With the new Minelab detectors, someone needs to go on an Easter egg hunt.

I can’t fully agree with that
There’s so many possibilities here
I want my stash to go to my kids and grandkids but if I died before telling them, then it’d look bad on them to sell it on even tho that’s what I want them to do
I can totally see your point tho
It’s definitely a possibility 🤷🏻♂️
The only person who really knows is dead now sooooooo 🫠
Exactly. They sold right before the price increased by 25%.
The old man suffered so they could be lavish.
Feels gross.
I'm jealous too
It does He saves that all of his life and then died. And they call it a gift it's not a gift if it was a gift he would have been alive to give it to them,he died. And they took it.
No, will no, nothing. It obviously wasn't theirs. They just were in the right place at the right time.
I disagree, i think he was a bit" off" probably not really thinking where his hidden wealth would go until his last days.my 2 cents .back in the day that would be called hoarding, now, stacking, same mentality different terminology..dont trust the govt.cover your and yours ass.
Wow! What a judgmental statement. None of us know the full story and we don’t know their lives.
My reaction was joy that the uncle gave it to their dad and joy they were using it for a family cabin. That cabin might come in real handy in the next few years.
uncle is probably thinking all my relatives are fools - sellin my hard earned real money for toilet paper in times of war...
not for $$$$, for a cabin .
And too early to boot. Fast forward 4 months and we are up 25%!
Who knew?
We knew.
depends imo ... how much do you own and whats the value.. if it was all bought in like 1980 and it can buy you a house, why not

We had 2 sisters come into the shop I work at with a couple of large Rubbermaid boxes. A bunch of commemorative coins, proof silver eagles, and tons of lower dollar items. As we were looking them over, we asked where it all came from. Their dad has collected for years and they didn't know until he passed. Then we got to a cardboard box that was separated from the rest. As soon as we opened it, we closed it right back up. They asked what's wrong? We had them come to a back office where we could close the door away from other customers. Long story short, that 1 cardboard box had over 300k in gold coins in it. 1oz buffaloes, AGE's, St. Gaudens, $5 Indians, liberty heads, you name it, they were in that box. One of them nearly fainted when we gave her a preliminary idea of value.
WOW!
Yes WoW!
After watching this video, I was very sad. Upon reflection it appeared to me that while watching these folks one thing was sorely lacking: a sense of gratitude. They couldn't get their story straight and showed no sense of loss when discussing the soul to whom it originally belonged. Quite the opposite, they were giddy with the "mysterious" bequest. I pray those fortunate enough to receive the labor and sacrifice of my life, will take one moment, particularly in the presence of others, to say something nice or reflect on a fond memory. Sorry Yankee, but something about these folks seemed very untoward. Keep up the good fight. God bless.
Exactly as I see it too. Tim said it best, they couldn't even keep their stories straight. We have no clue what the truth is.
I agree, and would wager that the old uncle did not want those two ingrates to end up with his hard earned stash.
I felt the same way, glad you saw that too. The sense of entitlement with these two
It’s troubling leaving your sweat and brow to people who are profoundly ungrateful.
This video is the reason I will spend every dime of my stack.... If they want cash ...work for it... I know my kids, good education, good morals but no money value no mater how much I've tried... Just greedy and feel entitled... So no not happening... And so... my wife and I have booked 3 14 day cruises. For this year... We worked for 64 years and it's time to live our dream.

My grandpa had 25 ounces saved for us 5 grandchildren, my grandpa taught me very well about the importance of owning gold and silver .
We meaning 4 of us never received our 5 ounces my cousin Sheila nabbed it all , when he passed away and we never saw her again , she didn’t even go to his funeral 🧟 👈 she was the monster I always told my family that she was !
She also took the silver 🤷🏼♂️ he had over 200 oz .
So goes life I guess 😔
Ohh well I am blessed got a great family of my own and I survived my cancer battle, praise Jesus 🙏🏼💞🕊️🙌🏼🙌🏼 Hallelujah
I had 2 sisters like that who I didn't contact or speak to since they raided mom's apartment after she died. Cleaned out the bank account that was meant for mom's funeral and didn't even bother to see her buried. My brother and I foot the bills for everything. They even stole the air conditioner from the apartment window (which I bought for mom) when they left. I can't help but crack a smile now knowing that those two have since passed and gone down below where they belong.
I would bet an ounce of gold that old stacker did not want those two to get hold of it.
For real
The poor guy saved not knowing it would end up in the hands of the vultures so they could piss it away. No doubt he would have had a better life without family. Nobody stacks gold for the State to steal upon their death. The dude should have spent it himself.
Gut instinct says there is more to this story.
They couldn't keep the story straight the way it was.
There is something fishy about their story.
💯
When my uncle passed away, we were cleaning out the house before it went to other relatives and I found small, round tins that reel to reel films came in full of half dollars.. several were silver, and he had other coins, that started me on collecting coins then later on in life, much later, I started stacking silver... wish I new of this when I was younger when the prices were a lot cheaper 😢😢.. but better late than never huh😊😊😊 those ladies are so darn lucky...
Makes you wonder how much gold and silver has been stashed and nowhere to be found!
The historians say 15% of all the gold ever mined has been lost for some reason or other.
My father was an OG stacker. Starting in the early 70’s he would travel 120 miles every month to buy gold Krugeraands with part of his and my mother’s paycheque. Frugal doesn’t begin to describe my parents who were children of the depression and young adults in WW2. I think at one point he lost faith in stacking because when he passed, his stack was a fraction of what it had been at its height but was still significant nonetheless. I have 2 siblings and both sold their part of the inheritance for luxuries and vacations while I have concentrated on growing my stack. My father was a hard man but he left an indelible impression on me about the value of delayed gratification, self reliance and the coming financial collapse. I believe he was right about everything he preached, he was just 50 years early.
Nice
What a great legacy. My brother and I often wish our parents had that sort of insight. We started very late and if it were not for that tragic boating accident, we too would be ahead...sigh😑
Stacking just holds onto value during periods of high fiat currency printing. As a long term strategy investing in things that actually outpace inflation/money supply bloat is better. In terms of the whole doomsday type stacking behavior, gold isn't going to have value right away either. Being rich while the world burns just makes you into a target.
@@joseph1150 While true, Every once in a while there is an event that resets the price of gold that drastically outpaces the inflation rate.
We are on the eve of one of those events
@@actualsurfer That what stackers are always saying.
Am I the only one that found this episode very annoying?
Yup
What stood out to me was how easily they were to spend someone else’s lifetime of stacking and wealth with little concern to all the hard labor it took to acquire it , Thinking the old man who passed should have spent it on some of the things he probably sacrificed and went without 😊
Or he could have left it to people he cared about. @@asabovesobelow7200

HAHA.
This is a great story. Too bad we don't know more about the uncle.
They didn't even care enough about him to know anything.

Enjoyed the video, love the diversity of Tim’s customers and their stories. My wife and I are retiring at the end of 2024, at the top of my bucket list is to visit the Coin and Stamp shop, hope you will be there by chance.
Their story sounds so sus!!! The more they talk, the more unrealistic it seems.
Sounds a little like they took advantage of him in his old age, got his cache and shuttled him off to a nursing home.
The uncle's hobby became a blessing to his "little" nieces.
Sounds like they had a real treasure hunt, and they actually did find the gold lol
How can someone save their whole life go without just to get sick and watch your family take what you have and can't do anything about it definitely plan ahead and try to plan for every situation that you can thank of
Who should inherit his stuff, the government? Nobody took anything, they’re his surviving family. The old guy told his brother where to find the gold so he obviously wanted them to have it.
That slip for the 5oz says 1982, price average was $375/oz back then, so $1875 a bar. I've given 8oz mixed size QE2 2023 gold Britannias to my two nieces, each, with instructions. I'm the childless uncle, obvs.
Talk about generational wealth 😅 I do feel like people like these two ladies don't really appreciate what was left to them. Most people can't afford to get 1oz of gold, yet they had how many oz? "Gifted" to them. Kinda bitter sweet to be honest
Kind of fishy if you ask me.
When we were cleaning out my late great aunt's place, we found 2 krugerands under her recliner. We gave them to our Grandmother who was her oldest living relative.
Should check inside it, too, haha!
I was cleaning out my grannies house and I came across a box with gold coins in it but it turned out that they were those gold covered chocolate kind - dam.
Mixed feelings on this one Yankee. They almost seemed too giddy and totally detached from their uncle’s sacrifice. Happy for whomever, but this was a weird one..
Lol man, my grandmother left me a few silver dimes and some old coins that she found interesting. Nothing like that lol. But its the thought that counts, ill be keeping them all.
I can never imagine hiding anything at home let alone in my attic. I live in a hurricane and tornado prone area. I'm liable to come home one day and find my whole roof done blown off. 😂

Hi Yankee, I’m not sure if this question has been asked but I’ve always been curious. Precious metals are a lot of things to many different people, the stories that are carried along with them and often told once they show up to a shop much like Tim has are sometimes quite questionable. I was wondering how often Tim runs into stories that don’t quite add up, or situations much like this one, where individuals are oblivious to the life-long hard work that went into setting aside tangible wealth? How does Tim set aside judgment or questions and focus simply on the transaction ahead? I always love watching these videos, the lessons you learn from others’ stories in other lanes of ‘wealth management’ aren’t usually so transparent if that makes any sense. It’s hard to hear these types of stories but I hope it serves as a lesson to those who may have relatives that behave this way. Ungrateful and childish even at their age.. that Uncle must’ve faced challenge after challenge in life. Anyway.. fantastic video as always, cheers from MI!

Oh, it's painful to see them selling right now. Gold is "savings" to be kept for an emergency. While pure speculation, every indicator suggests it will go to MANY times it's current value. The dollar may crash (probably will), crypto is still purely "hope" (don't kill me, I've done crypto for over a decade), silver you cannot own and transport enough of it to equal this. And to put it into real estate, perhaps the worst time in history. Why is there a demand for residential real estate? Nobody's building single family homes, and commercial real estate has outrageous vacancy... I wish the best for these ladies, however I suspect they are going to regret this action in less than five years.
That's insane... these people casually selling all this gold oh we need money because we are having a cabin built in maine. This poor uncle rolling in his grave for some kids he never even really knew 😔 it's pocket change to these people and I find it gross.

Did I inherit any precious metals from my grandfather? Yes, I did. No gold. However, I did inherit 73 silver half dollars (Walkers & Benji’s). Thank you Grandpa! I also had the privilege of being his first grandchild. My grandfather was a very intelligent man. He could have made a fortune with some of his inventions. He just never pursued it. As far as I’m concerned, he was the inventor of the first swiffer back in the 70s. Happy Stacking everyone.
I think gold was about $400-$450 per oz. when those bars were bought, back in 1982. It's about $2,150 today. That's roughly a 4.0% per annum rate of return over 41 years.
Inflation averaged 2.9% over this time period. So, your gold value kept pace with inflation and did a little better.
The (geometric average) return on the S&P500 from 1982 to 2023 was 11.2% per annum, including reinvested dividends.
If you invest $100 at 4% per annum for 41 years, it grows to $500.
If you invest $100 at 11.2% per annum for 41 years, it grows to $7,768.
I love gold, and own some. I hope that it offsets other assets' returns during stressful economic times, and I am glad to have it. Over the long run, however, I am not expecting a return much more than the numbers I quoted. I view the gold in my portfolio as being there to reduce portfolio risk, not to provide a long-term return anywhere near the stock market's return.
Great uncle was a collector. He happen to find out I was the only one in the family that collected coins. He left me his entire coin collection. Tons of pre 64 90% silver coins, proof sets, and lots and lots of silver certificate bills
At %25 an ounce, tons of silver coins would require a heavy box truck just to move. What type of truck did you use or did you just use your VW Beetle and take 50 pounds worth each trip?
Awesome story with the Sisters. I'm smiling ear to ear. Cheers, Ted
The only thing in my attic is fiber glass 😂
Yes “gifted” to avoid cap-gains tax!
One thing is certain...THEY SOLD TOO SOON!
4 months later and we are up 25% and rising.
Wow Yankee you got a real cast of Characters up north there buddy. 1 week you got a lady that finds treasure in a dumpster diving incident , and a few weeks later you've got them finding fortunes in Attics what's Next 🤔😳😁👍 !!!
😉🫢🤭
My Grandma left me 3 rare coins..she was very poor so we brought her into our lives and Harriet Shively was a Wonderful Person
My grandmother gave me all of her silver coins and silverware after I cared for her in her end. I will always cherish her gift and I will make sure that my future relatives know her contribution.
All that my uncles left behind were empty miller and coors cans. I wonder if I’ll be able to stack enough to be the cool uncle who leaves his nieces a small fortune in precious metals
After watching THAT I dont want my nephews to get anything of mine. That whole thing was disrespectful.
They talk toooo much, BE SEEN AND NOT HEARD!!! Never ket anyone know what your thinking.. SMH
A coworker of mine moved out of his house in the year 2000 very quickly. Six months later, After going through his things, he realized he left 22 ounces of gold in the house.
Ouch
That was a big mental lapse 😱
"A fool and his money are soon parted".
'And haste makes waste'. The guy was a living proverb.
Did he kindly ask the new owner if he could retrieve it?
They were blessed because a smart Uncle stacked a lot of gold for generational wealth, which is why he told his brother the location, and why these women ended up inheriting it. Instead of treasuring that, they convert it to dirty FIAT so they can spend it on 'stuff'. At least some of their kids were given a few ounces, hopefully they will be more grateful.
In 1930 an ounce of gold could buy a man's suit. In 2024 an ounce of gold could buy a man's suit. 💪💰
Love that perspective!
$2,150 on a suite? I’d hit up a few thrift stores and find a suite for 40 bucks.
@@dorian1761fascinating...
You can buy a nice suit for $100...
@@dorian1761you’re not finding any suites at a thrift store, for any price.
Anything is possible. Even the ABBA come back virtual tour.
First it was buried on a 50-acre property, then stored in the attic and then placed in a basement milk crate. They also said that their uncle lived in an apartment. I don't think apartments have basements and I know for a fact they don't even offer 50-acre property. Their story seems very suspicious, and it does not add up. Who knows if their story is true or not. Only God knows.
Hi Yankee! Wow, that uncle probably bought that gold for about $400 an ounce in 1982! Awesome! 😎🏆
A rental property would have paid much more...
@@_outofphase5480yep, gold extremely undervalued right now
They all pretend like gold was so much better than putting it in stocks but in reality if the original guy had put in S&P 500 for the same time it would of course be way more than the increase in gold price through compounding.
My ex's aunt passed and left a bunch of old gold Eagles ($10 pieces) when she passed. They were in different places in her house. Not sure how many she had but there were 6 in an envelope with a bunch of $20 bills from the 1910s and 1920s in her bedroom and a baby food jar full in the kitchen. It made the local paper.
There was an old man in Hartford, CT. who lived in a single room occupancy house, a real flop house back in the '70's. Rumor was the guy was hoarding valuables and his place was "invaded" by some punks, who stole a few things. He called the cops. When the police showed up, they realized the guy was senile. The cops searched the guy's room and found a paper bag with $447,000 in the bag under the bed.
I'm 42 and never had a gold coin o a cool uncle 🎉🎉🎉No comprendo 😅😅😅
Never too late to start…I’m 76 and getting a settlement and want to start…
. they will regret this move. And soon.
Yankee always love you channel, but these people were quite annoying and gave all appearances to be quite financially irresponsible. Plus disrespectful to there uncle.
Yup this is going to be a popular video. Part of me is wow, wish I would have inherited that gold. Then the other part of me cringed when I thought of people (relatives) I barely know enjoying my gold after I'm dead. Maybe that's just the miser in me talking. Great Video Yankee RUclips Gold!
Not a fan of these ladies.
Not sure if the man had led a fulfilled and enjoyable life before he got a stroke. Did he scrimp and save in order to accumulate so much gold? The life lesson learnt here: Gold doesn't buy you happiness and good health, you can have all the riches but still suffers from illnesses and then dies as a lonely old man. Then strangers will take your gold and do whatever they want with it.
stunning video and story...my mouth is open. but a very cool story.
People are in trouble. So many people come in to sell their valuables.
I will have to email you, My story is not for the public xx
Please do!
Property and land is the future. I was left a 3 family house in East Boston I sold and moved to NH with
I’m never selling my gold and silver. That’s why i’ll always save fiat currency on the side and spend it for whatever I need.
Honestly one of my favoritt channels
Wow you never know who you really worked for. That's a great example she only saw her uncle when she was about 6 month old so they never had contact only until he passed away what a shame.
And here i was feeling so good about getting my Silver Maple Tube fix today....then to see all that gold!! Oh my word! Truth be told, ive found myself way behind the 8 ball and Im so glad to have found your channel. I live to see Tims rants and educational talks. Also followed through with Teds advice and took some 401k distribution, paid off all my high interest debts and still had enough to stack close to 400oz. Going forward im looking forward to the extra spendable income to trade in for a monthly allotment of 2 tubes per month. Feels good! Things are looking A-OK✔️
🎉wowwwwwza!!!
I've seen something similar before. The people who work hard and save, never enjoy the fruits of their labour. I knew someone who was broke, 3 kids, no husband, they inherited millions from an aunt. They bought a house, expensive car, spend 25k on a vacation. They're gonna piss it away in no time.
These people don't have a clue, if they did they wouldn't be selling.
Golden episode of Yankee Stacking
Wow,, I'm checking my attic tonight,, LOL
Too bad they found it. The new apartment dwellers would have been better candidates than those two.
Touching the gold coins with bare hands. Just idiotic
Those that haven't visited me will have to work for it.
I would have given my eye teeth to be present in person in Tim's shop when this video was recorded! Best good, clean comedy I've seen in a long while. Thanks for sharing with us, Yankee!
what's an "eye teeth"? You'd give that up?
We thought the exact same! GREAT GREAT video!!!!
You guys sure have fun with all of this. I wish I lived closer so I could visit the shop.
