I’ve never seen star polyp lose its color before. Very interesting. The rest of the corals look nice and ready to grow into their new tank! Best of luck! I myself took a little over a year out of reefing but just set up a new tank. Looking forward to seeing your system progress.
I’m on day 11 of cycling with 2 clowns and dr tims in my nano ammonia has consistently been 0.25 started seeing 0.25 of nitrite on day 9 and there has been 0 nitrates throughout the process. Hopefully my cycle will be done soon. Great videos as always. Today iv just noticed a bit of a bacterial bloom.
If your not getting any nitrate then I would question what’s happening to the ammonia I would get a second opinion on the water test with a different test kit to be sure it’s reading right.
@@raisingreef339 I’m using api salt water test kit so may be the reason. Iv just noticed today that iv got a bit of a bacterial bloom. Ill send off some water to be tested.
Thanks for the video! So are you doing fish in cycle? With the bacteria? How long does that take you and also do you dose the bacteria after the first day that you put the fishes?
Yes you add the bacteria immediately before you put the fish in and as long as you add enough of the right bacteria there is no cycle I have another video where I show the process as I did it and the conclusion of how it went the tank never had any ammonia reading so the fish were never in any harm.
Good to see your tank looking great, mines is freshwater, do you know if its OK to use prime with Dr Tims?, do you think its better to add the full bottle of Dr Tims as it would be 4× the amount needed,I done what you did n put just over double,I had my tank running for 9 days before adding Dr Tims and ammonia was up to 2 ppm , nitrites 0.25 ppm, do you think the benificial bacteria will get to work and do its job? Thanks mate
Well you can’t overdose dr Tim’s so if you wanted to add the lot it will not hurt it will not be affected by the prime as any extra bacteria will die off anyway. I assume your using dr Tim’s for fresh water? The ammonia should drop quickly after adding the bacteria and you shouldn’t except to see ammonia present again after that.
@@raisingreef339 so even if I do a water change I can add more benificial bacteria, that's what I will do later, cheers mate thanks for the help,I'll keep you posted.
@@raisingreef339 I noticed the bacteria had settled on some ornament n rocks, are you 100% sure prime will not affect my cycle, what did you use to tackle your tap water?

It looks like the new growth on the star polyp is green but I’m not sure the old will ever regain its colour.
Awesome...must be so nice to finally have a reef up and running again
It sure is I can’t believe it’s taken this long.
Nice tank system, works great with Dr Tim's. But, what is in you sump?

@@conorjagger9617 as I recall with api it always gives the lowest reading even when it’s 0
We used them in the shop I worked in as they were cheep.

Remember the bacteria are not free swimming they live on hard surfaces so you will not loose any bacteria when you change water. Good luck

I used RODI water which is standard practice for a reef tank not necessary in freshwater the prime will not hurt
