I genuinely can't believe this band is real
discover king gizz to me was like a dream too :,)
hi snazztacular 🥺🥺
they’re a hologram created by the government to make us think that there is good music
Yea I think about that a lot to
I can't believe you can't believe this band is real
I hope these legends get the recognition they deserve within their lifespan.
They are getting it now, if you ask me... Their three shows in the NYC area earlier this year sold out almost immediately. I missed my chance again :(
... and long time after it...
My mates and I drove 800km to see them live . Best trip ever !
I was at a sold out show of 10,000 people in London! Was lucky to get a ticket for me and a friend!
They're getting really big prolly will never be mainstream like tame impala even tho sadly
Was ist das für eine geile Mucke
Ich bin 71 und sowas tolles hab ich schon lange nicht mehr gehört
Vielen Dank
Dann bist du am Anfang einer grossen Reise. Viel Spass dabei :D.
Oh my, so this is what Jack Black and Kyle Gass played for the shiny demon in the middle of the road.
The chorus would sound so good covered by Jack Black
Headcanon accepted
I was imagining this when I walked back to my PC and then wanted to mention something about this feeling and then you say it.
Stole this comment for my own Facebook page! This is soooo right!
What's this a reference to? Am I dumb?
i hate king giz cause they’ve got an album for every mood. because of this, i haven’t listened to another artist in over a month...why they gotta be so damn good :,))
Check out Ween
Noah Karimee What King giz album do u listen to when you’re sad?
@@Hantyumi_3000 Work This Time on repeat for three hours.
TOBG Show I’ve done that before
Month? Weak. It's been a year. All other music has faded into nothingness. I have seen the fourth color. I am an Altered beast. Nonagon infinity has opened the door. I have seen the Balrog with my own three eyes. I am everywhere. I am nowhere.
7:45 gotta give amby some credit he is absolutely slaying that harmonica over there
And that’s not even his best harp lick by a mile, dude is so fun to listen/watch.
I simply love that part of the song. Such an aggressive yet unique way to play the harmonica.
dude, they definitely shoulda turned that harmonica track WAYYYYY up, holy SHIT.
that kid fucking loves his harmonica damn
Ambrose playing like his life depends on it.
Absolute legends. What a track. This is once in a lifetime shit.
Yep 100%
Absolutely.
Greatest song of all time
This whole album is simply a masterwork. It's so rare for me to be into a band while they're in their productive / artistic peak it's a full time job giving them as much appreciation as they deserve.
This is just a tribute
You gotta love how Stu mixes these sessions
imnemo I do!
He is such a talented wizard 😍
No wonder it sounds so damn good, Stu is such a talented and hard working guy, like it’s crazy how unknown he really is
Didn't know it's him that's mixing it (even though it's written in the description). Thanks for mentioning it.
Yeah I prefer this performance over the studio version to be honest, the bass sounds incredible in this
Feels like I'm cruising through the desert during the Ottoman period.
moosesnWoop123 hell yeah!
I totally relate

That drummer hit thrift store gold when he found the yellow "Sabbath Worship" t-shirt.
It's a shirt from the label RidingEasy Records. They sign mostly stoner and doom bands. They discovered Monolord. Right now my fave bands on their roaster are Here Lies Man and Blackwater Holylight
@@servietsky67 Name checks out
@@TheEpicSceptic lol
@@servietsky67 I've run into Elise from Blackwater Holylight at numerous concerts throughout the years. Always a super cool chick
Praise iommi
King Gizzard is one of the few bands that is way better live than on record.
Followed by zep
Going to go see them tonight with a couple other Aussie rock n roll bands. Thanks for keeping the hype extra high for me!
@@lameemo They rocked Toronto the 25th. The best live band I've ever heard. The venue was a big help but damn they sounded penominal.
They are so fucking good live
I'd say they're one of the few bands that crushes both! TOOL would be proud of what they bring to the stage
I wish they had more of these kinda long progy songs
Wish granted
@@prismix0870 was just about to comment this lollll
Best band of the last ten years!
ya, Nickelback ruled the previous 10!
50 years**
@@docdeezmos3842 You know, I love my 90's music and I want to disagree, but I'd take King Gizz over anyone I can think of from that era...
best band of all time
The War on Drugs, but damn they are tremendous too!
I hope these guys are around for a long, long time.
I know imagine a band like this coming to an end, it’s almost blasphemy lol
Imagine they are 70 and playing together
The end of this band is just one girlfriend away
Lucas' basslines are always killer, but on this particular record they are truly amazing.. beautiful and inventive, in the part that starts 4:36 he even gets a mini-solo that sounds like a fairy quickly tip-toeing underneath the sweet guitar multi-noodling. Later on the album, on Loyalty at 27:03 he's laying out a simple but sooo powerful bassline before yet another great flutey mellotrony breakdown. Waaaaa these guys are so good... hope they never break up, wish they never die
The best part of the track. The guitar work as well as the bass is absolutely mesmeric.
His Mars for the rich solo makes me nut everytime
@@dylanstarcher4083 Joey wrote that bass solo tho
Who else gets oddly emotional when listening to this song? It’s so powerful yet so melodic, and it reminds me of the ephemeral state of humanity and civilization.
I don't think its odd at all, otherwise yes, me too
That feeling is art
It's because none of us want our castle to crumble into dust but it's going to happen anyway.
Yeah not only is their music rhythmically and stylistically bad ass, tightly performed but their lyrics and moods are also just very deep, like something epic and biblical, very philosophical. The kids of tomorrow will love this band in the future
It's just the Gizzardverse we can see
Funny thing is if you play all their albums during a single party, people will think each one's from a different band.
This track sounds like if TOOL made an album in 1967 lmao
Check out section 73 by country joe and the fish
@@adammarquez5203 reminiscent at most
Ahahah true (a fan from Russia, Siberia)
The first thing I said when I heard it was if tool and Black Sabbath had a baby
I’m from Siberia too.
LoL
3:24 SHOW ME THE DRUMS, SILLY EDITOR MAN
yeah same for 8:04
They need a drummer cam. All shows, all performances, always.
As a video editor and music lover/musician, I especially hate when they do this, proving they don't know shit about music and always show mainly the singer.
KGLW are modern day greats. 50-100 years from now people will still be listening to this music and cover their songs. I saw them live at the Hollywood bowl and I felt like I was at Woodstock. It was their largest show to date and it felt like witnessing history. In fact, it is history.
According to most of king gizz’s music bro we might not make it there as humanity is the irony. This entire song is about societal collapse and climate change lol
I don't think anyone is physically capable of playing this dude. maybe with cybernetics lol
Ambrose out here in he gotdam bare feet
I was wondering about that hahah
Zenymn Ambrose feet onlyfans
can't see a show without at least one of them being barefooted
He looks like he can barely stand tho... XD
Couldn't remember
That chord on the third "crumbling" at 6:04 is the reason I am alive.
What chord? He seems to be playing single notes
Marcos Pereira They’re probably referring to the sequence.
Marcos Pereira yeah, not quite sure how 48 people are hearing something we are not. Lol I think the bass root note might go up in pitch with each “crumbling” but that’s about it. I’ll have to check the tab. I’m definitely not hearing a magical chord on that time stamp.
He sings a tritone there on that third "crumb", it's sick!
Polygondwanaland is one of the greatest rock albums of all time for me. Just how it tells a story without interruption and you don't even realize the transitions of the songs.
Absolutamente de acuerdo!
Cheryl waters is like the mom of indie rock
I have no idea though why she needs to move her bottom to the rhythm of this amazingly tragic and epic song.
Best job ever. "How was work today, dear?" "Oh, nothing much, just sat in on an epic set that destroyed my ego and shattered the chains which bound my mind to the earth."
@@mot00rzysta It's music. Music makes you dance. Touch some grass. Smoke some grass. Fancy pants.
i love how the host just stands there grooving while the band goes crazy
Whoever did the sound for this is awesome as hell.
Of course, it was Stu.
The greatest song of the 21st century so far..
One of my fondest memories is seeing them play this live. It was my favourite song of the performance. The whole crowd was heaving and roaring; I'd never been in a mosh before, and I was part of a circle mosh during this song. The commotion, the energy, the movement, was truly electrifying, and that combined with the kaleidoscopic light show and the nature of the lyrics actually transported me to the world of the song: the crashing waves of the sea, the storm, and the castle at the centre of it
During the break you can see a bassist that's counting tempo like his life depends
How not to love Cheryl when she dances like this to King Gizzard? 2:37
Its a testament to this band that I feel like this song drags on way too long with the end perfectly embodying "overstays its welcome"
AND YET ITS STILL ONE OF MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE SONGS
I mean, what Goddamn musical magic is it that can make a song that I should dislike one I love so much?
It's harmonic Heaven.
Everything I love about Early King Crimson, Yes, Jethro Tull and Gentle Giant in this melodic fusion of the best of those prog styles and more. Really Great.
This is definitely on the top of my listen list for months and beyond. Thank you for making this music.
What is early King Crimson? Like before Larks?
Gentle giant rock
the tempo changes between 5/4 and 7/4 are crazy, so mesmerizing
I love the way they combine history and cultures of distant lands and people into a living musical narrative.
Go Ozzies.🦎🦜🌞
I also would like to know: where did they get the inspiration or how did they stumble upon "Sleep Drifter", an old Anatolian folk song ! Amazing work of art.

Max Milleur yesss what album!
Polygoldwanaland
You know it’s epic when the 8 minute version is the reduced edit
This video makes me remember that Cookie DID shave his head once. In my brain he's terminally Pig-Pen in person without dirt covering him. He has that kind of nasally cartoony voice too. In that note, I like Cookie. It's a compliment more than a bad thing
Those drummers are locked IN!
First time I heard this band was 2 days ago. I was tripping on acid. It was an experience and a half. Fell in love instantly
These guys' parents clearly rocked them to sleep with Astronomy Domine every night in their childhoods :D
This is my favorite performance of the song, every instrument is heard, the vocals have grit and gut, full of emotion.
Ohk i am officially a king gizzard fan
"KING GIZZARD AND THE WIZARD LIZARD"
jmipro yesssssssssss!!!!!
how can this band sound so much highly level as their album recordings? just incredible gizzs
Might just be one of the greatest songs of all time!!
People from the Balkans really dig this.
6:58 great synth sound
This track would be absolute perfection if the riff at the last 10 seconds was like a minute long. I love that bit and always feel like it cuts off too early.
my favorite thing is that lucas even still to this day stands over cavs watching like hes a visual metronome, i fucking love it
Phenomenal band but mvp in this performance is the mixer guy
Stu mixed the session :)))
Solomon Angom the lead singer (named Stu) is the one who mixed it
Stu is a one man wrecking crew of a musician! Dude has too much talent
Stu himself mixed this
Yeah it’s crazy to me how talented he is as let’s say the leader but the rest of them as well
7:00 on - I’ve said it on another video and I’ll say it here. This transition is just so incredibly kickass. Ambrose killing it on the harmonica too. Goosebumps every single time
When these guys played this at desert daze 18 my mind melted. Absolutely insane band
The best set I’ve ever seen. Stu was fucking possessed
Meet me glassy eyed, blind, and divine
Hold down the fort on the coastline
The castle is a pimple on the face of the world
A humble spot for tracks to drop if you listen
I see through the bricks, to the sea, crumbling castle
Water's rising up, thick and green, crumbling castle
Inching closer each century, crumbling castle
Are we safe in our citadel?
Look upon our condition, crumbling castle
You would not believe where I'm from, crumbling castle
We pray for the death, that does not come, crumbling castle
Dug all of our holes in God's Acre, crumbling castle
We have even said our last rites, crumbling castle
Are we safe in our holding cell?
Look upon our condition, crumbling castle
We head to our extinction, crumbling castle
The sounds of the constant lightning
Would be enough to block out the
Fall of the end of the world if it were
Not for the tinnitus from the bomb
In the wind I sway, back and forth
I'm brittle as an aged human being
When my walls are safe from wild weather
The filth forms into great nastiness
Polygondwanaland
I don't want to be a crumbling, crumbling, crumbling castle
I don't want to be a crumbling, crumbling, crumbling castle

I don't want to be visible

I don't want to be a crumbling, crumbling, crumbling castle
I don't want to be a crumbling, crumbling, crumbling castle

Superbug would be great on a Live on KEXP
Carl Williams glad someone else loves that tune! Blues heaven!
The Superbug meant that Superbug couldn't be played on KEXP yet.
2:15 I feel it too!!!
4:40.....Favorite part of the song!

This band is new messiah. Thank you Gizz for bringing epic music in a world gone mad.
I swear I can almost hear Cookie saying:
"I am the Danger!"
no other band sounds like this
I know that host probably earned their right to be there, but she's so lucky to see them perform from right up close.
The feeling from this tune is nearly indescribable. What a band.
Double the drums double the fun.
The Strokes are my favorite band of the 2000's. I think KGLZW is now my favorite band of this decade, maybe competing with Royal Blood
They shit on royal ass blood
8 and on the strokes
Check Kaleo and The black keys ;)
Im proud my 4 years old son asked to play this song :)

This is one of the greatest songs of all time..... for me anyway! Legends!!
Heyy!! These guys are playing my song that I own!!
hahahaha I'm glad the editors separated correctly crumbling castle and the fourth colour, the first edition was so weird, I understand now why the first batch of videos were taken down.
4:13 damn Amby that was slick turning the release up for the last note of the flute so it fades out nicely
Its unreal how this band manages to pull off so many good songs in such a short period of time. They did what, five albums in one year??
These guys kicked so much ass in Chicago! Can't wait till they come back around
Dynamite Studios I can’t wait to see them this October!!
i just don't understand the people that don't like this band , best thing to happen to music since the grateful dead .
Because nobody really owns polygondwanaland, does that mean that KGLW are technically doing a cover of their own song?
Or maybe everyone performing this song is doing an original version?
You just blew my tiny. little. mind. :D
I'm a fairly new fan of KGATLW and damn. These guys really inspire me to make this kind of music
Peter Michaels Jr. hey go for it! Might be as big as them!
Same I’ve noticed how I’ve changed my song writing after hearing only a few of their songs
It's like somebody set the time-machine to 70's psychedelic and brought these guys into the future.
I like the drummer in the yellow shirt.
The best thing to come out of Australia since State of Origin.
I cannot get enough of these mfs
whoever mixed this did so with headphones on so you should watch as such
What makes you say that? Most of mixing is done without headphones.
This album was FREE!!!!!
I love the KEXP set
With a band this size pumping out the albums they do, you have to expect they do it for the love of the music over anything monetary. Legends for sure. My generations Pink Floyd?
how the fuck did Stu compose this
I c't believe I am so late to this band. Spectacularly Outstanding Music Alright.
never too late
the way these guys are able to just get all this energy out and transform it into these crazy sounds still gets to me and ive been a fan of them for years. they work so well together! they guys are true "alchemists" if you catch my drift
Props to lucas on bass he is nailing it and he dosent have an easy part!
This might be the coolest song ever heard
They released FIVE STUDIO ALBUMS in 2017??????? What the hell
This song is killer though, so I gotta start somewhere...
They're the poster children for prodigious productivity
It has been hard for me to get into their music, but once in, it is fucking mind-blowing!
wow I havent gotten excited by any new rock music in a long time but this is some led zeppelin / mars volta par shit; dope.

Where the fuck have I been? Yes!
Man they're killing it live. I'm much more into these live sessions
This is so cool, modern day wizzards, grtz from Belgium
how is no one talking about 4:36 ????
Right?!
In mid of 2020, I'm still enjoying this amazing track, album and band. They're fcking legends by far
I only want to say one thing: FUCK YEAH!
They have no right to be so damn good
Now I'm officially a fan of this band , thank you!
i love this band more than i love myself
