@@Phobero His comment might be over-exaggerated.... King Gizz still is somewhat a bit above your Tool and King Crimson (for me). Besides the musicmanship, King Gizzard just cover a fuck ton of genres. Not that tool or king crimson don't, but they'd still be bucketed as progressive rock/metal

Indeed. They are hammering the ride incessantly with 16's while 1e& 2&a 3e& 4&a and the signature paradiddles and both drummers jamming in Sympatico.........Whoever said God made us all equal needs to explain why I can't do that.

The thing that it's in 7/8, alone makes it special. But the main riff, the bridge riff are really complex parts, need a lot of concentration, and they play it like it's the easiest thing. These guys are incredible.
They really mastered the polyrythms during this album. Like you said the main riff is in 7/8 but the bridge riff is in 6/4. During the verse after that bridge Stu stays in 6/4 while the rest take off on the 7/8 main riff. It feels so strange but natural in the same time.

It's 7/8, and in the middle of the song it becomes polymetric, 6/4 layered on top of 7/8.
This is genius, I often drum along to their songs, I’m an auditory drummer, sheet music has never made sense to me but I love the time signatures and these guys never fail to surprise me. Every time.
