Wow, so many times I’ve been in my settlement and I get the alert “Broken Power Grid” and I have to redo all my wiring and power in my settlement. Now I can easily fix it with this update that’s insane I’m very thankful for that keep up the work you’re doing miracles!
Way back in the beginning I actually was acknowledged in one of the settlement contests. I had a great time building the settlement and coming up with the lore for the items I placed. Since then I watch every month and just marvel over what is able to be created. It has been said before, but I have to say it again, this is what a settlement system should be. Modders like you and your team, are what keep these beloved franchises alive. SS Forum: ttg #powertools #timallengrunt #hrg #hhrg #hhhrrrrg
Thanks for the wiring tools. I stopped playing SS2 a few months back due to many issues, not the least of which was having to constantly rerun wiring to fix broken grids upon returning to a settlement. I’m still going to give it a bit more time before coming back. We’ll see how things are going around the end of summer.
Thank you so much! I only started Fallout 4, a couple of weeks ago. I am in love with this game. The vanilla settlement building is really fun. But Sim Settlements makes the game 3 times funner! Wow! I feel really lucky to walk into this with all 3 chapters available.
I've been playing with the new patch for a couple hours now. While using the "Rebuild Power Grid and Wiring" option, I've had crashes at two settlements. I haven't yet tried scrapping the wires, so that's my next task. I was able to use it successfully in a couple settlements, and was soooo giddy!! Thanks so much for these additions! "Quality of Life Improvement" doesn't even come close to describing these tools. :)
Is there a way to undo the self powering of objects? I've used a City Plan in Sanctuary for example and the Objects are self powered and stay self powered even when I turn the option off in SS2 and Workshop Framework.
Once more adding to the community I see #powertools being used alongside many mods not just Sim Settlements. Thank you and all of the devs for continuing to add to my enjoyment of playing FO4
I love watching you play the game and the interaction between your guests - I am so addicted to the game that I think I must have at least 15-20 characters on multiple vortex profiles with different mods, but all profiles have to have SS2, SS2 chapter 2, the framework, workshop plus and many of the addon packs - these are my forever mod list whilst I try to see how compatible they are with other mods without crashing - this month was my birthday on 8th April - I class myself as a recycled teenager - #best mod ever - ps. I am available for voice acting and story writing because I am also an author and a gamer - #never stop modding - thanks and well done for this fantastic creation - I will be recording a playthrough of your mod on my channel I recently started - still learning - I think my icon has my channel address on, but just respond to this post and I'll receive it #powertools
@kinggath how do I find the patreon you mentioned?!? SS2 is such an amazing project and I would absolutely love to help support it! (SS1 deserves props too.)
I started playing FO4 again around the time the Sim Settlements 2, 2.0 story came out. I stopped due to all the bugs with HQ, crashes, and issues.. It looks like it's about time I try it again.
I assume these #powertools will work with city plans such as the amazing ones created by karvoc and others? Thanks for all the consideration you give to everything you create. You regularly think of other mod authors and ensure maximum compatibility and always have the players best interest in mind.
if you "wifi glitch" everything that needs power, and eliminate any wires or pylons, you wont have any crashing problems from a bad grid. every item in the game that uses electricity can be wirelessly linked to each other. you can either power them directly, indirectly, or with a switch....all completely wirelessly and with out any pylons/conduit. this allows endless configurations and also allows you to change anything at any time without creating issues. and if you still want wires around for aesthetics... you simply put fake wires (not powered) and pylons around to simulate circuits.
Skooled Zone has an excellent tutorial on how to pull the WiFi glitch off for anyone interested. Just be aware that for anyone using the Transfer Settlements mod to create blueprints of your settlements, the glitched connections don’t transfer.
I know you've said here that letting SS2 rebuild your grid tries to copy your existing wiring layout, but I don't think the explainer for that option, as shown in this video, makes that clear. I think people may be hesitant to use it if they've got all their wiring exactly how they want it, because they don't want to risk having to do all that work over again, especially if they like to wire things in a way that's different to the way your algorithm does it. I'd suggest including that information in the explainer text for that option if you haven't already. #powertools, dominateeye on Nexus and Sim Settlements forums (and everything else too)
#POWERTOOLS . KG, love the mod. Can't get enough of going all over the place and establishing new settlements. I'm running approximately 150 mods, with new places, new companions (mostly Heather Casdin and Valkyrie) and barely remember to run the main quest line 😆. My new favorite quest line is the Nightingale. I haven't even tried the Caleb line or Reverend (forgot his name) line. My handle on Nexus is Harleyryder. Thank you for the great work you do, providing hours of fun. Guess I should mention that I'm on my 10th or 11th play through. 😀
#Powertools On my new run thru I am doing the faux power where everything thinks it's powered, except for the manually installed items I put in my settlements (like water for Taffington Boathouse). I have had a lot less of the CTD once I went that way and made building settlements much more pleasant to watch and keep up with. The first few settlements start happiness at 30% and climbing, but later settlements start at 50% or better at the start. Oh and I turned disease off until we can get the disease stats really working.
Could I talk you into a hidden option somewhere that wires everything to everything? Some days I just want to be living under an absolute web of wiring.
This is a good place to start wiki.simsettlements2.com/en/getting-started/installation the wiki on the SS2 forums. Folks on the forums will likely help with your other mod questions.
I did resolve it with my own power grid but thanks to this I can work miracles.. Anyone knows why Superstructures for SS2 keeps crashing the game ? If I remove the mod it works fine but when I Install the mod the game crashes. It's kind of weird... O and Kinggath when is the raider settlements ready ? I hope to start my raider save...
#PowerTools Thank you once again for all your and the teams hard work. I killed Caleb I brought him back but he no long talks to me about Bombface. Very sad. Have read comments on forum from others who have killed SS2 named NPC's when they run in front of player as the are shooting Gunners etc. Please make them non-killable at least until we finish their quests. I have question about update and messages I am getting from Vortex but will post them on Discord now that I am back from yet another doctors appointment today.
I like the looks of the power lines.... usually... except when I'm doing a clean build, like a vualt or something... then they drive me nuts! BUT, even if I like the looks, I've noticed that when I play with invisible lines (invisible line bug), everything runs just a little smoother. I guess it's the rendering or something? As an aside, some #powertools are very dangerous. On an unrelated note, relearning to type with 8 fingers instead of ten is difficult for someone who used to type for a living....
#powertools sim settlements2 chapter 2 has made me actually care about my settlers both with cures and defending them hope to get npcs more fleshed out if possible maybe misc quest requests?
#powertools not really intrested in contest but now that I have your attention lol. Can we please get the option to have DLC factions help at the gun battle would love to ask the children of atom or nuka world gangs to rock up and lend a gun
Such a great mod! I've lost track of how many restarts I've had but I still come back for more. Who would have thought that I would like Jake more than NIck Velentine? #POWERTOOLS (SlipperyJim on the Sim Settlements discord & forums).

Great job on adding the wiring features!
Brilliant work. Makes this game all new again. Thank you.
Thankless, this man says, of the work of making houses more immersive. Many thanks kinggath!

Ps I am on xbox. So thanks for making all 3 chapters fit in the memory available, with a few mb over for other essential mods.

Hopeful my calls to the F4SE team are heeded and they work out the crashing!
Yes, some of my settlements have had that problem of constant power grid corruptions. I will update again. Love this mod.
It's incredible the things this mod is achieving.
Dude ur a legend!

sounds like some great fixes. thanks, now if only i could get my city plans to build. (always crashes near end of scrapping phase)
I love your mod but idk how to fix my workshop problems and keeps on basically crashing when loading workshops.

I haven't tried yet? But yesss finally that the wires are lining up!!!
About to be reinstalling fallout 4 to catch up on all the new content very excited

As much as I love it Gath, wiring is just a pain on Xbox. Thanks for the Faux power option.
Is there a way to get some help regarding the mods? I’ve gotten ss2 but can’t get its second part to work with it yet.
We have a really active forum here you can get an assist at! www.simsettlements.com/site/index.php?forums/ss2-questions/

Well that sucks Xbox in getting no new features I guess
Xbox gets all the new features I can put on there. Unfortunately, you guys lack access to the script extender!
#Powertools for the win this should help with those settlements that always give me issues.
