I will never forget my mans Bunion!!!!!!!!! Takes me back to 'The Hollywood Shuffle" and the Revenge of the street pimps!!!!! LOl Great work on this one very under appreciated films in todays world but part of our childhood and the best times of our lives really
And this is why this channel rocks…even though you had very little info on where everything was filmed you used your LA knowledge to bring us another 80s filming locations video. I bow to you sir.
I can’t believe you did this movie!! I’ve watched it dozens of times. I’m laughing at every snippet. Imagine a time my children, when we could have funny movies that poked fun at everyone. This video is great. Thanks.
I’ve been showing movies of my past to my 32 year old step son. Starting with Blazing Saddles. We just watched I’m gonna get you, this past weekend. It’s fun to watch someone who grew up it’s not ok to make fun of stereotypes. He can’t believe these shows existed. It’s like when I watched them in the day, he could not stop laughing. What ever happened to real comedy? The world may never know.
Cool freaking video, I'm from Venice Beach so I recognize most of these locations 😎✌ Thank you this movie was so hilarious, takes me back watching it on cable with my friends in junior high 11/7/23
A friend of mine and I saw this one in the theater when it came out...we loved it and were laughing through the entire thing. You're right; it was a very underrated movie. Steve James was a g***amned national treasure.
Oh,... My,...God Kurt!!!!!! We thought this movie was hilarious watching it on HBO when I was a child. I remember one video store actually had a cardboard cutout advertising it. This movie has never leftt my mind and I had to pause lthis video 2 minutes in to comment. I thank you in advance!
Kurt I definitely enjoyed the video. Just want to thank you for taking the time to do this for the 80slife family. I liked the movie and cool thing is i remember meeting Jim Brown at a Syracuse football game back in the 90s. Jim also was pretty good at lacrosse. On two seasons 77 goals and 21 assist. First African American to be inducted to the lacrosse hall of fame back in 83. So a hall of famer in the nfl, college lacrosse and football. Thanks again Kurt. Enjoy your day.
I surprised you also didn't recognize Ariana Richards who was Lex in Jurassic Park plays Eve Plumb's daughter. I believe it was her first film credit. She went on to do Prancer and then Tremors after this.
A barely known movie here in the UK, but has been one of my faves ever since it came out. It was pure genius. The hero them music was class, the goldfish in the shoes, the pump of the year with “my bitch better have my money” and of course “1 rib, I sure am hungry” haha. Good old CR
I love this movie and am so glad you made this video. It's a hidden gem and a movie that is very underrated, it's hysterical. Thanks again. I really enjoy your content, keep it up.
Wished I knew you were going to be right outside my building I could have gotten you in! That Iron gate was horrible and installed in the 80's when the building was falling apart. As an added fact for you it was the worlds first rooftop pool when it was built! Morris day's pad in Purple Rain was one block away! Steve James aka Kung-Fu Joe was such a great actor (See also To Live and Die in LA) and I think of him every time I walk through there. An added personal tie in was I taped off the radio some Prince, Roxanne Shante, and and KRS/BDP tracks in 1987 when I lived there the first time as an 80's kid and that inspired a lifelong feel and love for that music.
This was a fun movie. But I gotta be honest, whenever I think about this movie...the scene with ol' Huggy Bear(the awesome Antonio Fargas), making a cameo with the outrageous pimp outfit and goldfish shoes is the scene that always comes to mind. Huggy Bear is now 77 years old, and glad to see he still seems to be doing well.
A parody of a genre, blaxploitation, that predates the Scary Movie parodies the Wayans Brothers did starting in 2000. Saw it on broadcast TV one night, but then I rented it to see the uncut version. It's similar to Black Dynamite, which spoofs many of the tropes of 1970s black movies like "Shaft" and "Dolomite".
I'm one of the few folks that watched this when it came out in theaters. My dad and I loved going to movies and we had seen everything out. As we looked through the LA times for something we had not seen, saw a tiny ad for this film, which had 1/2 a star review and was showing in ONE theater. My dad and I were the only whites in the theater and we laughed our asses off.
Thank you for these 80s movie locations! this was and is still a funny movie to watch over again. wanted to know if you ever did 1970 starsky and hutch tv series filming locations? Thank you Dirty harry.
Amazing work. Iust google earth'd olympia blvd. That road is insanely wide and busy. How do you find all these places Kurt? Incredible work snd detail! Don't ever stop dude. Amazing channel. Love all your vids 🎉
Wow, you did a great job. This is one of my favorite comedies so I've watched it countless times. It's pretty cool to see that some parts of the movie are still around although I wish the cafes were still as they were. I'm really enjoying your channel.
Clarence Williams III played Linc Hayes on the Mod Squad, he had a Jazzy Rally Red Challenger 383 Magnum RT convertible in the 1970/71 season, the year I was born and after that he got the Mod Squad Challenger, a 1971/72 hybrid Dodge Challenger 340 convertible in gold metallic paint with black top & stripes, there were only two of them ever made just for the tv show, I wanted both Linc's cars as a kid watching reruns and still want them today, one of them is on display and for sale at Daniel Schmitt & Co. Classic Car Gallery in St. Louis.
During the time of filming this BBQ restaurant was actually named "Hungry Al's BBQ". I know this because my father's business partner was Al Carline. My father opened Hungry Al's Barbecue #2, located in West Covina.

"Hey, man...are you sure you got enough (filming locations)?"
"You can never have enough, brother."
You knocked this one out of the park, Kurt! Bravo.

Wow Jan Brady’s kid was Ariana Richards the big sister on the original Jurassic Park.
Wow, you did a great job. This is one of my favorite comedies so I've watched it countless times. It's pretty cool to see that some parts of the movie are still around although I wish the cafes were still as they were. I'm really enjoying your channel.
The goldfish in the shoes was the best!

I used to live on the corner of Normandie and 8th street in 1987.
I love this movie❤😂
I lived on that street on Normandie! I remember watching the recording of that Youth Gang competition from the balcony! Good stuff dude.
If I can suggest you do the filming locations of THE BACHELOR PARTY with Tom Hanks.
Dope
As usual phenomenal work Kurt! Also Jan Brady’s daughter is played by the girl from the original Jurassic Park movie
Yes, it's already been mentioned, many times
She was also in Tremors
Relax and sit down somewhere simpleton

Nice, I thought I was the only person on RUclips with those filming locations 😉 We should do a vlog together buddy!
Make one on American Me Locations....
Man, haven't seen this in years, great film tho, super funny :)

Kung Fu Joe!
Eve's daughter in that scene is the girl from Jurassic Park
Also, the little girl who is the Black Revolutionary Headquarters played Lex in Jurassic Park (Ariana Richards).
Please check the sound. Starts with mono and all left channel
When I come to Los Angeles nxt September, can you plz be my tour guide 😅😅
Also Clarence Williams and Eve Plumbs daughter was the young girl from "Jurassic Park".
You pulling a milli vanilli
I had no idea that was Jan either 😂😂
Fun fact: the little daughter of Clarence Williams and Eve Plumb is the iconic scream girl from Jurassic park (1993) Hammonds granddaughter Lex
was that the madona borderline bridge?
No. There are a few in that area that look similar
Classic film love when junebug over golded
How did he go to the bathroom with all that shit on?
Did you also notice that his daughter @ 5:40 is Lex from "Jurassic Park?"
You should do little rascals movie! 💯💯
It was on couple days ago
Youth gang competition street looks a lot like NYC. Didn’t know there were places in LA that could resemble NY
I’m curious? With social media being so prominent, are you able to ask the actual actors where the locations are to help you with your investigations?
Did you realize that little girl is the girl that played in Jurassic Park the first one
I was going to comment the same thing
I feel like I know Kurt. Thought he was Jim from Pennywise haha
Los Angeles soap company??? What? That's crazy...
