  • Rather than improve the town centre, decent paving and shop fronts, they have developed the surrounds and destroyed the town centre. It could be so much better. I will go back to Nottingham but not Mansfield.

Call me a grump but I really hate the noise of the buskers

I was born in Mansfield and it was once a thriving market town, I moved away many years ago. Unfortunately out of town shopping centres and the internet have killed places like this, it will never come back.

Ayup Tim, great vlog mate, I think our generation will become the last to know about vibrant market towns as they used to be!! It seems that all the good stuff comes to an abrupt end while all the crap goes on forever... Mansfield has certainly taken a dive like all the other surrounding towns...no progress, just decline... Such a shame Tim... Thanks for the tour mate...👍

Mansfield and Worksop truly some of the worst and most depressing places in the UK and i've seen a lot of towns over the years

My Grandmother and Father were from Mansfield, went there as a child and once briefly for a few hours about 10 years ago. Would like to visit for longer one day.

Those old buildings have massive style. I don't know a thing about heritage listing up there, but that's what's needed to protect the old structures. They carry the hopes and dreams of their builders.

enjoyed that, lived near Mansfield 1979 - 79 ...a place called Rainworth....its not changed much apart from what looks like great neglect, back in the day Mansfield had its own Brewery, Mansfield Bitter, decent pint as well...loved the Nottingham video as well Tim, two football and the cricket ground...you are like me, dislike shopping cantres, I love old buildings, wish you highlight pubs more..most pubs have a history to them, old taverns and coaching stations..I am originally from Surrey/London but spent a lot of time in the Midlands...been Sheffield a few times also....whats happening with Wednesday, such a big club way back...anyway keep the videos coming, thankyou.

I'm surprised that Marks and Spencers can survive in such an impoverished town. Their prices are far too high for most people.

  • @aaronjames5581

It feels weird watching a video of a tour of the place you have walked through most of your life. Also do Woodhouse next

  • @baronsnake3042

On the whole i didn't think Mansfield looked too bad. Certainly easy to make improvements.

    Hi Tim great content mate

  • @chrisnettleship4331

    Brilliant video again Tim.

  • @benjaminemberson86

Sad seeing my home town look this way. The old co op building is massive, rememebr the cafe at the top....cheers for the video mate.

  • @lindahanley9773

    Great video thanks Tim xxx

  • @retrorambles517

It's got a decent footfall to be fair

  • @opagodaswirling9383

Very interesting video . My one and only visit to Mansfield was about forty years ago -- so it is not surprising that I don't recognize a thing . How does it compare with Lincoln, Chesterfield and other places of similar size in the area ? I am doing videos of various districts around Hong Kong ( together with a few other places around the world ) and can't help feeling England has lost some vibrancy. Good health and many thanks .

The council have a grant to redevelop parts of Mansfield including what you call the art deco building,. Back in the day it was the co. op...
