The Indian scale has more notes (16 between each two major notes) vs. the one flat or sharp of western music. You won't be able to follow if you limit yourself just to talk about a sharp or flat note. The Indian scale has many more notes - that's why some of hers may sound a little "off" to you.
True! But in this case she wasn’t trying to sing in a raga that goes beyond the 12 note system like malkauns. Also in Hindustani we almost never hold any notes that are usually away from the 12 note system. Those other micro tones come and go as inflections rather than full blown notes from what I’ve learnt from my guru. She was a tincy bit flat at the highest note and that’s ok. She is a queen anyway.
@@ramseyvoicestudio It's not off key though - it's a micro tone. That's what sai Krishna and I are saying about the difference between the Indian and western scales - to the western ear - some of the Indian micro-tones sound like they are off when - in fact - they are just notes that are not used in the western scale. I've seen many responses to this performance and everyone else has it keyed as a micro tone.
