I have a 455 Rancher. From 2000. Still have it and it still runs great. Only thing I replaced is the blue chock lever . Great video 👍

Hello i thought of buying one of these 455 ranchers and my question is how long do they last till they dont start anymore because of repairations?

Same, I rebuilt the carb kit twice, only use premium fuel and it will run for years

@@crowner17 there a good saw if your just using it for part time use, Few hours a week or so. Run Good fuel and clean filters once in a while and will Run for years.

I start all my saws holding the throttle handle with my right hand, and pull starting with my left hand. So I can control the throttle. Not a big fan of high idle as soon as a cold saw starts.

As I'm watching your video I'm doing maintenance on the same make and model of saw and the air filter hasn't been replaced since the factory. Sept of 06. It's had 3 owners and no maintenance. Seems to last good

Have a 445 that has seen so much use and never fails to start or cut! My favorite saw to date! I also have a Stihl ms250 and it is also a really great saw but as a personal preference, I enjoy the Husqvarna saws due to their vibration and performance imo! Primer bulb still works great and never gives me an issue as long as you maintain it correctly! Best of luck

I have both saws and I prefer my ms 250 it’s lighter and has more power

Starting the saw with the handle between the legs or drop starting it isn't dangerous as long as you know how to do it.

I find this saw weighs 16lbs. And for the power you get . This saw is a nice saw however it is very heavy even though I have one and I'm big guy and it doesn't bother me at all for light use,but 16 lbs is very heavy

Same here. This saw is great for cutting trees down and cutting up the trunks. It's a little heavy for limbing. If it's the only one you own, it will work, but it will take a lot out of you to hold this thing above your shoulders for numerous cuts.

I have one been running it for 15 years I have done everything but drive a truck over it. It weighs like 15 lbs but it starts at 20 below and it doesn't get very good gas mileage I run 2 or 3 different size bars on it. This thing is tough. If you buy one I hope you are in good shape cus this saw will kill you. But if you want a good buy this is for you. I think this saw will out live me?

Thinking of picking up this saw instead of the 460 24 inch bar. This 455 is a 20 inch

Can always swap the bar on the 460. But yeah. Im gettin the 455 cause it comes a 20” to begin with.

Would you recommend it as used? A pawn shop has husqvarna 460 24" $200.

If it ran good and started easy. Could have a lot of issues used depending on age and use. Could be a good deal.

Neither the Husqvarna 455 or the 460 are professional saw. They both have the plastic crankcase. When you start getting into the professional saws they will have an aluminum crankcase. Is the 460 worth $100 more, maybe but you're not getting a professional saw.

You might want to get some Saftey gear now cut pants, hard hat with a shield to protect your eyes.

Doing it with your footbis not the safest way sorry to call you out but I'm a professional loger and #1 starting any huskivarna with the bar break on is bad for the saw. And the foot method is not safe my buddy used to do that and all it takes is for your foot to get stuck in there and holding the throttle down it's not safe the safest way is putting the saw in your crotch and starting it!
