    Had a dram of this 30 YO Glenfarclas tonight. Your review is dead on Ralfy. I worked with it for two hours. Insane depth, flavors everywhere, unbelievable finish. I give it a 96/100...wow is this a great single malt. Thanks Ralfy!!!

    I was just enjoying a glass of Aberlour 10y when I was wondering when the second part of review 200 would be online when I saw it was. Your reviews are very usefull ralfy and they have helped me a lot learning more about whisky and finding my way to new whiskys. Im still quite new at drinking whisky but my collection is growing and Im enjoying it more and more. So thanks from the netherlands and keep the reviews comming!

    Hey ralfy, glad to see you reach 200 vids. I just sample my first single malt a couple days ago, thanks to your videos I knew exactly what i was doing and enjoyed every minute of it. It was a McClelland Single malt Highland, good for entry level. Can/t wait to move on to the real stuff. Looking forward to more vids from you now that I have officially entered the world of single malts

    Congratulations on 200! I've seen all 40 hours (wow that's a lot!), and I'm still unbelievably entertained by your videos. Another great review, and I can't wait for 300! I completely give credit to you for my fascination and knowledge of Whisky, as well as any other liquor you have reviewed. My small collection is growing, and hopefully I'll have a collection close to yours one day. Thanks Ralfy.

    @ralfystuff Ralfy! I consider myself an experienced drinker...I've had great ups and downs. I've been going through some hang-ups and have been drifting here and there. I enjoy few things and your uploads about fine drink is one of them. I was on the brink of alcoholism once again....but with your reviews and enthusiasm I've come to an 'agreement' with the ol' drink.
    Thank you, my friend in malt.

    @Taylor314T5 In my opinion, the Abelour 10yo is a good value for money, entry-level sherry Speysider. It has quite a pronounced sweet sherry note, which will benefit your whisky education. If find you like sherry influence of the 10yo then you'll definitely like the cask strength Aberlour A'bunadh - a very good, consistant and highly recommended whisky.

    Hi Ralfy,
    congrats for 200 awesome whisky reviews! Your episodes became pretty significant for nearly every whisky fan. Great job! I hope you keep doing your reviews for a while. Let's go for another 200 :).
    Oh, and btw: I was wondering, if you could recommend some "Summer" Whiskies.
    Keep up the good work!

    Hmmm
    You say people should ask or read in forums what is a good whisky.
    But in the forums everyone has different taste and favourites.
    I dont say you are wrong, but personally i like most whiskys and enjoy the differences.
    My recommendation?
    Trust Ralfy but dare to try what ever you can afford.
    From what I have tasted an older Jura is a superb whisky fx.
    Mmmmm
    Love it

    The Glenfarclas range is a great example of how a cask can naturally influence colour. Move from the 10 to the 30 and see the drastic difference.

    Hi Ralfy.
    Congrats with your 200 rewiews.
    I have another special whisky from Glen Farclas.
    It is called Nelg Salgraf. :-)
    It is a single cask bottling from cask number 1373, distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2008 at 46 %.
    A superb Speyside whisky. And to only 25 £.
    Have you ever tasted it?

  • @marcuz1989
    @marcuz1989 13 лет назад

    @Taylor314T5 like crthebigo said I certainly think it's good value for money. I personaly enjoyed it's warm sherry and toffee taste, so I would recommend it. A friend of mine has bought the A'bunadh as well, and that's quite an experience...it gives a really intense feeling through your entire mouth, it's more expensive than the 10y but then again it's botteled at allmost 61%.

    Ralfy this person you phoned about the consistincies of the 30 year old being sorted out must work for the glenfarclas promotion dept or something. I bought a bottle about the time of this review and thought was a magnificent malt. However the one I bought last week is not just subtley different but almost unrecognisable from the previous bottle - the dip in quality and is shocking. Why cant a distillery with all their vast amount of stock keep on top of the consistincey?

  • @gerhardfrog

    Hi Ralfy. Any chance you'll be reviewing the 21 YO? A bit more affordable than the 30 YO, at least for me.

  • @Bob-Maplethorpe
    @Bob-Maplethorpe 13 лет назад

    Discipline eh! Maybe that's my problem! I buy, open, and then have loads of bottle on the go. Maybe we could try a malt marshmallow test. I'd have my mouth all over the bottle by the time the researcher came back with my second whisky!

  • @kian765
    @kian765 12 лет назад

    Yeah I might do that but to be honest I dont think they are going to care that much . What annoys me more than anything is that the official tasting notes on the 30 Year will remain the same year in year out while the whisky can change beyond recognition. Surely someone at the distillery is aware of the inconsistency and can make more of an effort keeping the customers informed of batch variations with some relevant tasting notes - especially when they are charging a lot of money

    This is off this particular topic but I got curious as to which presently working distilleries were founded in the 1700s since it seems the majority of today's brands such as Glenfarclas date to the 19th Century. So far I've noticed five were founded in the late 18th Century: Bowmore, Glenturret, Glen Garioch, Strathisla, and Highland Park. Can you think of anymore Ralfy?

    I'm just teasing, those small blunders are part of what makes you vlog insteresting (reality factor)
    (in my glass: Balvenie 21 portwood - great - but I will remeber to set a price limit next time I get a friend to buy tax free for me.)
