My Pantera Playlist! • Pantera
In this guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play Pantera's "This Love" note-for-note.
The tuning is Eb tuning, Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb.
The song just has so many cool guitar riffs in it. The opening arpeggio picked clean riffs are instantly recognizable. These arpeggios continue through the verse section.
After a quick lead guitar fill, we are then thrown into the high powered chorus. The timing can be a bit tricky for the chorus riff, so I will break it down in depth and teach you how to count it out correctly in your practice.
As we move on through the song, we are introduced to a few more riffs and another quick lead fill and the bridge section which contains the most difficult riff of the song. You will perhaps see a lot of people playing covers of "This Love" that play this section slightly differently than Dimebag did, but I will demonstrate Dimebag's version which is slightly harder to play, but sounds better IMO.
I will also cover Dimebag's solo note-for-note. This solo is very melodic solo and one of Dime's easier solos to play.

Interesting tidbit about the bridge riff. Darrel "recycled" that riff from a song that supposed to be on the Cowboys From Hell album but didn't make it. The song is called "The Will To Survive". It's a really, really, REALLY great song and you can hear this bridge riff about 36 seconds into it. It's here on RUclips.

to play along correctly (tuning wise) get yourself a tuner that can change the Hz from standard 440Hz down to 425 Hz thats how dime did it for some of his tunes the tuner will tune as normal and read EADGBE but with the Hz turned down to 425Hz you will have it correct. if you only have your phone download the Boss Tuner its free and the Hz settings can be changed!
