- I recently attempted to use Senate time to have the issue of the abuse and corruption that is rife in the indigenous industry debated in the Senate.
Sadly, the Greens decided to use every procedural trick in the book to run down the clock and silence debate, as you will see if you watch this video.
This is an important issue that has been swept under the rug by all sides of politics for too long.
It’s a shame that there are those in other parties who are too afraid to hear the truth about what is going on.

Hiding behing "i feel unsafe" is cowardly in the extreme.
The point is that parliament is not meant to be a safe place.
It is meant to hold robust debate t frame new laws, policies and ideas, not to play Sissy to each other..
"I don't feel safe in my work place", obviously she never had a blue down the back to sort it out.
She felt unsafe because Hanson was on a scaffolding mission of unfolding some Indigenous cultural facts.

I've personally seen it in action, I had to leave as they are so far entrenched that to speak up against them only had me bearing the brunt of their racist comments. The Aboriginal “corporations” need a big broom through them. $30 billion a year given to indigenous programs and still people are living in squalor. And that’s not including the millions in mining and other royalties. Where does all the money go?

I have watched communities spend 5k bringing in 1k worth of grog. As for the housing, it's what you make it, a couple where kept well, no different to a house in the city but the rest where not.

My cousin is a social worker working in a indigenous community. She uncovered how funding money was was being misdirected and money was not going to idgenous groups. She blew the whistle and was promptly fired. She didn't let it go though and reported it to higher authorities. This led to all her bosses being fired - she is now the boss.

When our family migrated to Australia, we heard so many awful things about Pauline Hanson. I started to listen to her speeches, and found her point of view simply direct & fair dinkum. I've been an Australian citizen for years now, and consider myself as an Aussie Patriot. It's been very frustrating to see radical socialism agenda is being pushed to this nation under the banner of racism. It's sickening, and I am glad Senator Hanson has not backed down in defending Australia first agenda!
I remember her being the butt of many jokes back in the late 90’s and early 2000’s when I was in high school. If she manages to get her point across and successfully fight off the regressive left, she will ultimately have the last laugh. And rightly so!

Im indigenous and have suffered from ignorance and lack of help from our local indigenous land council. they were more than happy while i donated my free time to help teach indigenous art to other indigenous peoples but they got offended when they asked me to be the teacher but were not willing to pay me the same amount as they had been paying the previous teacher for the position they offered and expected me to do it for free. Sadly ive wiped my hands of any indigenous activities because the people who run the local aboriginal organisations should be ashamed of themselves and how they behave toward other indigenous peoples. unless your a "Kiss Ass" or a close friend or family you wont get help. The only victims are the aboriginal people who are being ripped off by their fellow aboriginal people in parliament. And I doubt if she is. This is not a joke. It’s only since The Voice has come into play that I’m discovering the corrupt practices that have been going on for years apparently. I’m a white Australian and always thought that indigenous people received ample assistance. I didn’t have any idea that so much rorting was occurring. I lived, and worked for 2 years on remote Aboriginal communities and there is nothing false in this statement. Pauline has an awkward manner, is not politically correct, is easy to dismiss but should be admired for telling the unvarnished truth - unlike the woman who stood up and tried to silence her.

True, and BTW... Thorpe did not want to debate because she knew she was on the loosing side. There is a huge problem in Aborigine communities because of alcohol. If it could somehow be better regulated, things will slowly improve. Wilcannia is a good example where 10 years ago it was unsafe to stay there for long, but now, with some hard discipline and money spent in the right places, I would not hesitate to stay there for as long as I wished.

Growing up as a kid I was essentially brainwashed into believing Pauline Hanson was bad because of things I heard on the TV, from family members etc... As an adult I realise if you want to get the correct information go straight to the source, I started listening to her speak and reading her policies online. I have become a huge supporter of Pauline Hanson and One Nation over the last few years and I realise all the crap that was being said in the early 2000s and even now was all BS. She is honest and only wants the best for ALL Australians. One of the only Politicians who isn't corrupt and actually speaks the truth no matter how controversial it may seem in this era of political correctness. You are the best Pauline, I'm so glad I started thinking for myself and stopped listening to the left wing echo chamber that dominates the MSM. Thank you for continuing to fight the good fight!
i find it interesting that when i did my VCE, close to half a chapter of out legal studies book was all about how corrupt and racist Pauline Hanson was and how she went to jail... its a few years back but every fact mentioned was skewed and one sided. while i dont agree with many things she says or some of her policies there is much shes spoken on over the years that also bares real factual truth. As always though politics is a disgusting world. if you don't conform you're either out or your chastised by the parties and media.
what this video does highlight though it how disappointing out political system has become. rather then healthy debate on conversation, our politicians continue to act like adolescent teenagers in a classroom. it seems bulling and trying to be cleaver with words is or more important then actually jetting the job done.

It’s so frustrating. Pauline is trying to put a light on all Australians that money is not going where it should. And that the small few are reaping the rewards while the average Australian in remote areas indigenous or otherwise are not getting the help they deserve. The only reason lidya was carrying on is that she is one of the few reaping the rewards and does not want to get caught out. Good on Pauline being a advocate for all Australians.

I was a state branch director at a large NGO in the field of international development. NGOs like Red Cross and Oxfam spent about 45% of revenue on bloated salaries and incentives for executives, and they had full control of the disbursement of funds. We took a different tack. It's proven that money in the hands of local communities and authorities does more to improve a set of circumstances than being disbursed directly from the source of revenue and that's the case with indigenous communities as well.

I spent 30 years living/working on remote communities, and the regulations and guidelines on how money is spent and reported are set in stone. However "creative accounting" is rife. It's not to hide legitimate expenditure, but to make it look like the people's goals and aspirations are addressed. This is especially so of groups controlling land - access and use. Votes in some organisations are bought, voting situations are stacked to get the "right" decisions, outspoken opponents are silenced.
