Phil is a real dude! Live long, Phil! You are badass and we love ya!
Phil: *"ANSWER ME!"*
**Everyone is in awestruck mute shock**
Phil you are a fucking legend for more than just pantera. Long live phil anselmo!!! King of metal
Every time someone says something nice about Phil, I can't help to imagine him respond "shut up dick" like he did on one of his Loudwire interviews 🤣
@@vastug9459 lmao , then he would give you autograph .
@Ahmir Jayson Get the fuck out of my channel
Phil and Pantera got me through some tough times. The Most Awesome Metal Band Ever. RIP Dimebag Darrel. ✝✝
Whats he a legend for beyond pantera?
what a legend...he knows pain and he knows glory.
But still humble and precise
That hour went by quickly, I could listen to Phil and never get bored.
This video was surprisingly deep, informative and touching. I was a huge Pantera fan in my teens. Phil is alive to tell his story. Which is something. Respect.
I'm so glad he's still here to tell his story. I saw Down the other night and they never disappoint.
We are still around to read it as well which is
Worth as much so it's as much worth mentioning, but yeah Phil speaks some serious truths here, and very universal in that world to the ones who lived in it, but we made it and alot of mine, yours I'm sure, and as we know
Phil 's didn't make it out, so out of respect to you, welcome bakk my brother-
@@jerrycantrell9862 glad you and Phil are still here, Jerry! Rock on!
Been listening to Anselmo since '93 when I was turned onto Cowboys From Hell album and have been a fan of PANTERA ever since throughout their ups and downs and splitting up to his side projects... DOWN being a favorite of mine today sharing in similar life struggles as Phil further connecting to his music❗🤘
phil talking about something serious
phil: No i don't wanna join your internet club
that had me dying
Years back at an Ozzfest that Down was playing at… Phil and the band / some others came to the main stage to watch Ozzy..
Obviously they had no tickets they walked up from behind the main stage…
So after some time.. me and my buddy’s reached out.. extended out gratitude to Phil and the band. Phil was fucking awesome.. so nice to us.. so gracious and humble..
Eventually a security guard realized that a bunch of people were in the seats where before no one was.. so he comes up and asks them for their tickets..
Not being “big timers” and assholes… They were legit going to leave.. But me and my buddies stepped in on their behalf and essentially said..
“Hey… that’s Phil Anselmo.. Lead singer of Down, Pantera, Super Joint… Him and his band stays.. (Rex was there too..)”
Guard was cool and backed off..
Phil and the whole band were super cool about it.. Thanked us for doing it.. Again.. they were not going to be assholes and act like big timers to a security guard.. and they didn’t want attention on them..
Hung out with them for Ozzy’s set.. It was one of th best concert memories ever.. Most likely the best..
Your honesty is was makes you a real man Phil. I'm so glad you made it brother 👍👍
Love this guy. Pantera was my life as an 80s baby.
Phil,
Thanks for your honesty and being man enough to sit in front of these youngsters to tell your story. Not many people (possibly not even myself) would have the heart to do so. You made some of the best mental albums ever. EVER!!! Pantera did things that may never be matched, and thank you. LOVED YOUR MUSIC, AND STILL DO. But.... your biggest achievement was sitting on stage and telling your story. This will touch someone brother, and probably save their life. Much respect!!! Thank you brother. Thank you. Much love.

Stay strong brother!
Thank you Phil for making me decide to cut down on sedatives. Benzos. I have OCD and I started using them to much. You might saved me a lot of problems. You are a great human being no matter what anyone says.
Hey, glad if you're doing better now, take care :)
If you're on benzos be careful. You'll die kicking. You need medical attention.
looks like hes loaded on benzos during this interview enough to put anyone off
It's heavy, like a one man play , theatrical, love how she sits back and let's Phil just speak. Much love n respect.
Pantera is ,and will always be the best metal band of all times. And it took phil as front to make them complete.
Interviewer: What is the center of the earth like?
Phil: Okay, now that's a hard core story
this video brings a smile and tears to my heart. recovering for 4 years
I was at this talk.
Hope to see you with Superjoint or Scour at Quebec or Montreal !!
Strength, love and will ;-) Take care ! X
Merci pour les sous-titres, good job !
Pantera se reforme 😇
My buddies band Weedeater toured with Down. They said Phil is extremely cool.
Dude, weedeater is sick as fuck
@Aaron Ceravolo Yea I grew up with all of them. We all live in the same town. Me and their original drummer use to play drums in his house but the police made us stop that.
GOD LUCK AND GOOD SPEED! That is cool as f*** Ask dixcie when the new album is coming out... Been waiting since goliathen best stoner metal band going around. And how is keko doing since all that shit went down? I hope hes all good...
One of my good friends is in a band with Ramzi the drummer for Weedeater. The guy is a monster on the kit. I let him play my dw and he couldn’t have made it sing anymore

I suffer from degenerate disc disease and cancer in my spine and chronic back pain. I feel for Phil. It changes you living in chronic pain.:(
I hope that Phil has made peace with himself concerning what all went down between him and Dimebag and Vinnie Paul.
Drug addiction is a horrible gorilla on your back which, like Dave Mustaine said, doesn't let you stop until the gorilla stops. Phil did not initially get that back surgery because he felt that he could not disappoint the band and the fans but drug and alcohol pain therapy was a much worse solution.
Merci pour les sous-titres !
Avec plaisir ! :)
I just ant to say- I love you Phil. You may never read this. But you have been an inspiration to me for many years. the media will keep me from tying to say this for many years but I really mean it, you inspire me. I support you 100%.
Thx. We need more Phil!!
Luv you Phil! You and Pantera were the very best metal band in history and probably future.
Love your honest, genuine personal way of being. Fuckin luv ya man!
Thanks Algorithm!

I was a pain pill addict for 20+ years, Phil isn't jiving and its something I've also said about addiction, I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I never did heroin thank God but I've definitely seen the horror of pain pill addiction. I detoxed from methadone in jail in 2004, it was pure pain for about 10 days, man everything Phil is talking about addiction is no bs 100%. I saw a recent video he seemed really together so I hope as a fellow addict he is better, seems to be. ✌️💙
He kinda talks like Arthur Morgan from rdr2

Phil could probably talk about completely different subjects like average boring subjects and it’s still gonna be interesting listening to.
I had a friend die at 25 because of heroine. I didn’t think he was the smartest of people , but he was like my brother. He didn’t know what he was doing.
I was a hopeless addict until I did one flood dose of ibogaine. Been sober for 7 years now. That stuff is the closest to thing to Jesus Christ Ive ever come across. Those stories in the gospel where Jesus heals the demon possessed... Like that.
Im clean and happy as hell but the desire to use comes back. Ibogain ahuyahuska really worked that w ell?
@@jonathanjamesbuzza4957 It worked like a miracle. I have not had bad days or cravings or anything. No counselling. Plus it helped my mental health become somewhat better too. It's ibogaine, not ayahuasca which is oral DMT, usually from South American plants, this is from an African shrub called Iboga.
They say it heals the brain's receptor sites from whatever it is that causes one to experience physical addiction.
@@jonathanjamesbuzza4957 Ive been clean 8 years. I went the methadone route. It kept me clean around junkies long enough to become disgusted by junkies and dope. I never think about it anymore. It even helped me kick booze. I still smoke weed everyday, but I'm a productive citizens with a family and it causes me absolutely no problems. I don't think the idea of total abstinence is right. The AAs and NAs are a joke too.

Is it me, or is he a little high on something in this interview?
yeah, not now but in his later interviews (2007-2016) his speech is always slurred, I think he purposely gets high before these to make it a little easier I guess
Nobody is perfect and it does disappoint me that Phil has spewed talking points about black on black crime rates because there's nothing less metal than being a defender of authority and corruption and helping bootlicker talking points. I don't think he's racist persay, but his views on police brutality need alot of work. But with as much time as he's spent in Texas, what do you expect?
All that aside, Phil is a fascinating guy to listen to and he's not a bad person. And this may be controversial but Vinnie and Dimes family not letting Phil at the funeral was selfish. They were making it about THEM. Dime and Vin blame Phil's addiction for everything and forget that his back pain and what got him started was the fact that Phil beat himself bloody and messed his body up going nuts and putting on the most intense show possible for THEIR band.
To many superjoints
