Rhaeneys could have fled the battle and spared both Green brothers. However, at Rook's Rest, she would not show the same manner of benevolence as she did at Aegon's coronation day. Rest well to the warrior-queen who never was.
She could've fled, but stayed and fought like a real Queen. It's a shame she was seen as the queen who never was, but she got her fulfilment by fighting to put a queen on the throne.
I love her so much. She was a steady voice of reason and hellped hold team black tother. She lived and died fearlessly and with honor. She’ll be very sorely misded. Both her and Meleys went out like bad asses.
The House of the Dragon is a cautionary tale of what not to do regarding picking a queen and heir: 1. Do NOT pick a queen from a powerful vassal's kin. The in-laws' family will become too powerful for the new King. 2. Do NOT retain the right to change heirs on your deathbed. Designate your heir publicly in front of the council to witness and publicly give up the right to change it afterward unless the whole council is present.
