    I've ridden a few trail around the country, Black Mountain is an EPIC ride. Stay on it all the way down. Don't waste a real ballbuster of a climb by getting off on another trail. The Black Mountain descent is that fun!

    On Sycamore, that's the direction I always go. Climb up grassy. Go left to upper sycamore or right to lower sycamore. You guys ripped Avery :)

    Great video, Brice. The climb to do Black Mountain and Avery Creek (Clawhammer Road) should be featured as well. I have ridden the old Avery Creek UP to top of Black Mountain and did the 'borderline unrideable' descent. Five hours of hike-a-bike for a 10 minutes of wild PNF goodness. It was epic, but an only-do-once experience. Now I'll be going back. Thanks for highlighting the trail improvements.

      Trace, Spencer, and Ridgeline, too. Decent vid for just scratching the surface if you just have a weekend, though I'm not sure I would have even included Sycamore in this video at all. For a little extra work you can do Lower Black, which is WAAAAY more fun.
      Me and a friend did Avery, Bennet, AND full Black in one day. Exhausting.

    "...it was borderline unrideable." Psssh. That's what makes (made) it good. Still, cool to have some new stuff and jumps in the forest. Just hope that all the gnar doesn't get turned so sanitary as has been the trend. Great vid though 👍

    • @bricycles1389
      @bricycles1389 5 лет назад

      Trust me, my preferred style of riding is fast and rough for sure. But for a lot of people who made the effort to get all the way up to the top of Upper Black, it was just a washed out mess, ya know?

    • @tedclev
      @tedclev 5 лет назад +1

      @@bricycles1389 I get it and I'm not trying to be a dick or anything. As I said, it is great to have new features and styles of riding in the forest. I just hope that the trend of rehabing natural/washed out rugged gnar trails does not extend to everything; it's a lot of what makes this area unique and excellent. That said, yes, there is a lot of room for better built trails (Avery was never very good anyway IMO, and South Mills is a mess, etc). Full disclosure, I have not yet ridden the new Upper black or Avery, but I plan on it this week, and I am very much looking forward to it.

    These videos always look way more dramatic than they really are. Sorry to disappoint, but any moderate ride looks really edgy and dramatic. Not trying to dis any of the excellent riders, but I see these videos all the time and have to say, even my tame videos give the impression that I'm some kind of dare devil, which I am not.
