My guess is that’s their plan for Mafia 4 but they’re taking their time with it so in the meanwhile we get this prequel that is a lot less demanding as it’s set during a less technological time period

The music that we hear in the trailer is fascinating too because it doesn't sound happy or energetic, it sounds very tragic. I wonder if this will be a hint of what the story will be like.
The codename for this game was Nero 👀
I’m calling it now, the guy in the trailer is Don Calo
He became boss in 1914
And in chapter 1, Mafia 2 Vito says he’s head of the Sicilian mob
And in the trailer, he’s standing watching over the place Operation Husky takes place with Vito in Mafia 2. And maybe he doesn’t like that so he goes down to stop it as we see in chapter 1.
Operation Husky takes place in 1943
And Don Calo doesn’t die till 1954
That could be a possibility! They do show San Celeste in the trailer, the same city as the first mission of Mafia 2 featuring Don Calo.

He sees the war happening from his balcony or whatever he’s on in the trailer and steps in to stop it.
Now I’m not sure if the trailer picture that shows the shot out windows and dead bodies on the ground, top of the staircase is the same war happening in mafia 2, but why would they include it. It the only picture and setting besides San Celeste, we’ve seen before
Not sure if that will be the case since Don Calo is a real figure. Maybe the part where he riding Sherman tank is a bit ficious but the dev like to keep real mobster in the background so far.

It would be incredible if the game was set in the 1900s, and showed a bit of Leo Galante, Fank Vinci, the Salieri family and other characters who are known to have been in Sicily, like Clemente's uncle.
Well the game is set in the 1900s, I’m sure we’ll see all major Mafia 1 & Mafia 2 characters.
Leo Galante is already 81 y.o. on mafia 3 which is set on 1968.Will je really live until the 90s.He would be more than 100y.o.

And it's south of Italy. So in early 1900s cars would pretty much be elites only.

@@solidmage1720 idk man, that’s gonna be hefty amount they’re gonna have to pay for those actors. Keep in mind they’re also gonna have to pay for licensed music from the 70s and 80s. It’s better if they hire relatively unknown actors.

Now that I think of it, this actor kinda looks like Louie Romeo, the mysterious character shown on one of the cigarette cards in Mafia DE that ends up operating in Cuba
I hope this is their best work. I want really good crisp 4k graphics this time. And attention to detail makes all the difference.

There is a high chance that there will be some characters from Mafia 1 definitive edition, but the main character and many other will be completely new as there is nobody from Mafia 1 remake Cast that worked on the upcoming game.
I just hope it’s not as repetitive as mafia 3 that thing pissed me off how many guys you had to kill and then the sentry calls for back up smh! And it had so many bugs and glitches smh

As a person who loves Red Dead Redemption 1, 2, and GTA5, I love playing Mafia, and this game I am waiting for, like I am waiting for GTA6, but what is special about this Mafia is that it speaks in the year 1900, according to what I read. This makes me admire and excited about it. I think that there will be horses with cars, because according to what I read, it was done. The use of horses as a means of transportation stopped in 1910

As a big 3rd person gamer i'm very excited for 2025. Fable, GTA6, Mafia , Snake Eater Remake, Avowed, South of Midnight, Marvel 1943. and thats just what we now so far. I'm going to be in heaven.

We need the next Mafia game set between the 50s-70s in Los Angeles & Las Vegas. There was a cigarette card in Mafia DE that had a mobster from the west coast named Louis Romeo I’m guessing that he’s the Jack Dragna of “Los Ondas” (Los Angeles). So I’m hoping Mafia 5 will be set in LA & Las Vegas so we can run and manage casinos 💯🙏🏾🔥
The initial actor of Salieri was George DiCenzo. He played in the first or second Back To The Future.
i think playing luigi or frank colletti would be pretty cool but i think the actor kinda looks like a young sam which would also be cool... leo galante would be pretty sick too

The hype has made me replay mafia 3 and 100% again. Then play mafia 2 again. I already played mafia 1 recently so I wanna play mafia 2 once I am done with 3. Plus I never played the DLC. I got all mafia games platinum but never played the mafia 2 dlc
Mafia 2 DLC is terrible but Mafia 3 DLCs are great.

4. Enemies chasing you until you kill them or they kill you or you lost them
5. Run Businesses to generate money
6. Strip Clubs
7. Online Feature like GTA 5
8. Bank Robberies , Store Robberies
9. Modern Guns in DLC
10. Drugs Operation
11. Mafia 2 buying drinks and food feature
12. Extortion
13. Shooting from Cars
14. Tiny Crosshair like GTA 5
15. Swim and Drive boats
16. Home activities
17. Entering a Lot of Building and Stores
18. Slow motion feature when shooting
19. Dirty Cops getting payed to kill you
20. Armory in your house
I just think Mafia series is the best games ever built but the only thing that killed the vibes is that the Big Map is empty without activities after the story
So if that can be corrected , no one will be studying GTA .
and the previous games can actually be reedit and add more activities and make the game hot again.
They should take a leaf out of of godfather 2’s book and allow you to rise the ranks, control your own crew and take over rackets/control rackets and shake down local owners to make money. You can send your crew on hits and make them drive you around etc… make you actually feel like a high ranking mafia member instead of a low level soldier your whole life
We all know how the Mafia franchise likes to implement some callbacks to other characters in the franchise, with Vito being the one who killed Tommy and being Lincoln Clay's sub lieutenant, which opens a little door for speculation.
Now that we know that the game will take place in Sicily in the past, the character could be someone who helped Vito when he was fighting Mussonline in the initial prologue of Mafia 2, and could even be the old man who was in the tank and who saved him from being executed. .
They've always made sure the main characters in the franchise correlate in some way.
But there is a character that, although he only appeared in 2 games, could be a good option too, being Leo Galante, a very strong character in the franchise, who, despite not appearing in the remake of the 1st, could appear in this one. new game.

I'm happy to know there making new Mafia game. Cause I really enjoyed playing 1 thru 3 & I'm currently playing 3 now.
I hope this Mafia: The Old Country has a Mafia 2 aspect to it in terms of Gameplay. For example, Clothing, Gas Stations, Speeding Tickets etc. I feel these aspects of the Gameplay when it finally came into Mafia 2, gave the Game an edge and gave players a Unique Gaming Experience.
How many plots & features will be cut this time?
😂 hopefully not that much. Every game has cut content, but I really hope Take Two doesn’t pressure them to release the game asap.

I know it's about Italy, and American Italians, but they could make a game about the mafia, focused on Brazil, with the escape of some members of the Cosa Nostra to Brazil,This member who fled helped Castor de Andrade, one of the biggest mafia bosses in Brazil, to create the animal rights group (Brazilian mafia monopoly).
An organized crime game in Brazil would be awesome.

I remember the photo in the Salieri's bar office desk have Don Morello in it. The story might will tell the childhood of how Don Salieri's and Don Morello became enemy right? Maybe we will play as Sam or Paulie in the game?
We won’t be able to play as Sam or Paulie since they would be too young or not even born yet depending on the year.

It literally gives the time period and location in the bio of the game, so I would say there's no need to guess on it.
It would be good for countinuity, but I highly doubt we will have young Salieri. Devs seem to have broken the canon, because in original Salieri was older than in the remake, where in cutscene with the photo of Don Peppone, Salieri and Morello, Tommy says they're just kids, while in the original it seemed like they both were past 30 years old in the photo, hence Tommy calls them "commandeers of Peppone regime".

Since it will be set in 1900s we've gotta ride horses most of the gameplay. I think it'll look like late rdr2. Also I wish it would have the actual map of Sicily. I'd love to see and roam around real Palermo, Messina, most of countryside etc.

The game should have it be three playable characters (Leo, Salieri and Morello) like how the second game was which are younger version of the characters. They should do a sequel to Old country in the 1910’s and the third and final game in 1920’s connecting to Mafia 1. It should be linear based like Mafia 2 but keep the free ride from Mafia 1.
It would be cool to play as two opposing characters hunting each other down! 😮 Like The Departed.
We of course are also expecting a young duo of Frank Vinci and Leo Galante, before they leave for the states in 1908
Dude this trailer came out 2 weeks ago and I just barely found out about it! Man I'm hyped. This franchise means so much to me and my sisters because we used to play the original on our dad's computer when we were little kids. Mafia 1 actually has the honor of being the first video game I ever played lol I was 3 years old at the time. I've always cherished these games and gone back and played the Original at least once a year pretty much my whole life. It's a ritual at this point. Mafia 3 was honestly a major let down even though the story is amazing..I'm just glad they are not repeating the same mistake and they are going back to what made these games stand out.
